"Why would you step on them tooo!!!" They didn't need to experience it like THAT! Owwww.

Wolfhive decided these ants needed to pay. Since the sea water seemed to do a number on them he collected as much as he could and squeezed it over the stomped ant hill. He didn't know if it'd kill them, but at the very least they seemed to dissappear. "Take that!!"

"Why wouldn't I step on them too?" Not that their approach had intended to be a step into ant territory, they'd merely been curious what Wolfhive had been talking about. "If I'm here, I may as well stomp some of them." As promised, Beachpaw did exactly that and pranced about in the now-mud of the ant's former home.

They were over the top, kicking like it was the dirt place and needed to be buried. "GOODBYE. ANTS. See? We can do the ant genocide together! We're a great team."

"They're MEAN! I don't want them biting you too." Wolfhive was a little flustered he'd been beaten up by ants, and once the pile was sufficiently destroyed he sat back to groom his fur. "Yeah, they didn't stand a chance against your might." Beachpaw the Destroyer... that was definitely A nickname.

The fluttering in the breeze reminded him he wanted to eat a butterfly, and he caught sight of one of his to-be victims. "You ever catch a butterfly before?" Regardless, Wolfhive was on murder mode and crept after the butterfly. When he was close enough, he booty wiggled his way into a leap and pinned it.

Beachpaw -

"Maaaaayyybeee," Beachpaw replied slyly, eyeing up the winged creature with innate interest in clamping their paws around it. They bunched their back end and lunged toward one fluttering nearby, only to miss it as the wind gust from their movement carried it further out of reach. "..No." As far as they could remember, they'd only successfully snagged butterflies within the dream realm. But that would change today!

Today was the day Beachpaw acquired the skill of Butterfly Master. Master of the Capture.

Peering to Wolfhive and his catch, Beachpaw aired a question that just now occurred to them. "What do you do with them once you get them?" They probably weren't good to eat, right?

"Um... eat it, I guess?" That'd been his plan all along, but come to think of it - were bugs even tasty? This one kind of looked tasty. Wolfhive ate part anyway, just to be sure. "Oooh, yeah it's pretty good. You should try it, Beach."

Wolfhive's eyes wandered the clearing, following the field of flowers passively. "Didn't realize how many poppies were over here." It seemed half the flowers here were, or he was just bad at plant identification. Regardless, there were flowers aplenty! Wolfhive plucked one he didn't know the name of and put it on Beachpaw's head. "You're sprouting!"

They hadn't thought of eating bugs as a serious possibility until it happened before their eyes. Alrighty then, that settled it - they would try to eat a butterfly. Beachpaw made a noise of exertion as they abandoned the hunting crouch to instead just slap a passing butterfly down mid-air. Beachpaw didn't have to fight their instincts (which were telling them to EAT IT) as they gulped it down in a bite.

They'd have to try eating more bugs.

Beachpaw turned their attention to Wolfhive who was saying something about ... flowers? And then there was a flower on their head. "I'm glamorous..er! Not just sprouting, but," they did a careful twirl to avoid disrupting the flower, humming a little happy song, "blooming!"

Since Beachpaw didn't finish the offered butterfly, Wolfhive scooped it up and did so - eyes gleaming as he watched Beachpaw embrace his new flower identity. "Blooming indeed!" They looked good with the flower, he wondered if there were a way to make one.. that'd actually stick better to them. Like a flower circle they could drape over their head. Hmmm.

Anyway, if ants and butterflies weren't enough of an excitement: Wolfhive saw a bee. It had settled on one of the nearby poppies and he reached out to lift it up, letting it crawl over his paw. "Didn't know there were bees over here!" He hadn't really looked for them, in hindsight - but it made sense given the flowers. "Wonder where their hive is.."

Blooming, yes. They were the Beachflower. “Do I look amazing, or what?” they asked with a grin spread across their muzzle, the question mostly rhetorical, but they wouldn’t protest if Wolfhive dropped a compliment in response. An idea came to them and was immediately voiced: “You should try wearing one! You’d be a big pretty warrior.” They guessed he already was, but it’d be even better with a flower involved.

“Here’s one to start!” Their grabbing of the flower had been slightly messy and resulted in gathering the petals, which they placed across Wolfhive’s back. “You look like a lizard.” They kind of resembled scales. “But a pretty one, still.”

The beeeees... well, that made sense, considering they were amidst flowers. “Why would you want to know where the hive is? Don’t they guard that? It’s like.. the bee’s camp. BeeClan camp.”

"Of course you do." Was there ever any doubt? Flowers complimented Beachpaw nicely. Wolfhive hummed as flowers were draped over him, turning his head to check on them - but trying to be careful to not knock them off. "Or a colorful fish! ... Don't repeat that." He didn't want to be a fish-cat, lizard it was.

Wolfhive reached to set the bee on Beachpaw's nose. "Careful, it shouldn't hurt you if you don't spook or hurt it." The lil bumble bee was just happy to be here. "Their hives have honey.. which is sweet, but sticky. Kind of like a gooier berry. But yeah, BeeClan will protect it, so we'd need to be careful collecting it." He didn't want to disrupt the flowers on him, but the thought of honey made him drool a bit. "... You wanna try some?"

Taken off guard, Beachpaw burst into laughter at Wolfhive's self-description. It did give him a fishlike appearance, but he'd never be mistaken for one of those icky RiverClanners. Wolfhive deserved better than even the mere thought of that.

Beachpaw went cross-eyed as the bee was set on their nose, fascinated. They could kind of see it: a big, fuzzy, black-yellow blob of an insect in the middle of their vision. "Wow," escaped them breathlessly. ".... Should I eat it. I want to eat it." It was unfortunate -- they were caught between: it's so cute! versus I MUST GOBBLE IT.

Distracted with the bee sitting on their face, their new friend (who they still wanted to eat impulsively), they hadn't been listening as carefully to Wolfhive as they should've been. "Yeah, yeah, honey, sure. I'll try it."
