It was as if everything played out in slow motion.
The hawk swooping down, Elderkits screech. Wisteriawren and Starrykit. The cats rushing in to help. It was as if their pelts surged together into a flood, but towards the wrong target. Aspenpaws demands coming far too late.
There was no way a kit could survive such a fall.
Fenpath wasnt sure what went through his head, the hawk was much to high now for any cat to catch, but something like pure adrenaline forced his paws forwards. Pushing his way past the crowd, hardly caring who he bumped into, Fenpath ran. His heartbeat pounding in his ears, and his vision locked on to his target.
He'd do anything in his power to save Elderkit.
