Bluestrike stifled a laugh. Anything that feeds the clan helps. He mewed, nodding to a mouse that scurried past them.

He brought his paw down, but the mouse was faster. He kept talking. I'm sure you're tired, so how about you go rest? Bluestrike gave his apprentice a quick lick behind the ears, before flicking his tail and retreating back to camp.

Bouncepaw nods gratefully to his mentor. It's a struggle to get on his paws, and he follows his mentor back to camp.
"Bluestrike, please don't tell Daffodilpaw about this." He meows as they walk, "Or only tell her after this after I catch my first prey. I don't want her teasing me." Despite his failure in hunting and his disappointed tone of voice, Bouncepaw doesn't seem to be in a bad mood, just embarrassed. He clearly has a good relationship with his sister.

Bouncepaw noticeably cheers up at that, "I'll catch something next time, I'll be practicing my crouch." He meows, already eager for the next lesson. "Thanks for the lesson, Bluestrike!" He calls as he pads away to the apprentice den, ready to get some sleep and a lot of rest.

Bluestrike strolled into the apprentice's den, and prodded Bouncepaw awake. Time for training. He murmured, an excited gleam in his eyes.

Bouncepaw had heard other cats complain about their mentors, about how they didn't train them enough, about how they needed to nag them to help and so on. And so, in Bouncepaw's mind, at least, mentors were a predominantly lazy folk, constantly annoyed and tired out by the extreme energy of their younger apprentices. But apparently this did not apply to Bluestrike.
Bouncepaw wipes his blurry, sleepy eyes with his paw and yawns blearily. He was not a morning cat. He could stay up until dawn, but he would go to sleep in the afternoon, in a cozy spot in the sun. It takes a while until his brain fully wakes up.
"What-" Bouncepaw blinks. "Bluestrike? Is it morning already?" He gets on all four paws and shakes his sleepiness off. "What are we doing today?"

Battle training? Oh boy... Bouncepaw stretches, as Crowbreeze had taught him, in preparation for movement. He had practiced his hunting crouch a lot after this, with some help from an older apprentice named Vinepaw, and so he was a lot more confident in hunting now. But battle?
"You won't use battle training as an excuse to beat me up, right?" Bouncepaw asks carefully. He's only half joking; he pretty sure that Bluestrike won't do that considering his personality, he just doesn't know what battle training could possibly consist of.

"You're joking." Bouncepaw doesn't believe this, it doesn't make sense. His mentor really was quite the jokester. He makes one last stretch. Now he was really awake, having forcefully pulled himself out of dreamland.
