Poking his head into the nursery, Hawkfur steeled himself against the familiar scents of milk and kittens as it overwhelmed him. After spending a moon straight in the nursery alongside his mate and kits, coming back to it now involved a lot of memories the Fury was still working through. It had been several days since Bravebird had passed, and since then Crowtooth had become deputy, Hawkfur had slowly slipped back into his duties, and life continued on. As much as Hawkfur wanted to slam the walls down over the memories of his beloved to keep them pristine and unmarred by depression, he had a new responsibility to uphold.

Three new responsibilities, actually. "Crowkit, Egretkit, Gracklekit!" Hawkfur whispered, azure gaze seeking out his kits. They were rapidly approaching two moons old now, and Hawkfur felt himself reeling at how big they were already getting. Once he was sure he'd gotten their attentions, Hawkfur gave them all a soft, fatherly smile. "Come outside, loves. I've got something to show you."

Slipping back out of the den, Hawkfur came face to face with the three gifts he had aqquired out on the moors. Well, one of them had come from RiverClan's territory, but since the river cats hadn't returned yet, he considered whatever was on their land fair game. Hawkfur swept his tail over the gifts, hiding them from view of his beloved sons and daughter as they tumbled out of the nursery.

GRACKLEKIT

The pale brown kitten's ears perked up at the familiar voice. Blinking groggy eyes, he stirred from his napping spot, regretful to leave the warmth behind. "C'mon, dummies!" he crowed cheekily at his siblings, getting to his tiny paws. He shook out his pelt briefly, blissfully unaware of the smushed fur around the right side of his face.

Excitement growing, the tom bounded out of the den, skidding to a stop in front of his father. "What is it?" he inquired, leaning forward eagerly. His mind immediately begin going through the possibilities. Yummy prey maybe? No, that was just his stomach talking. That wasn't nearly cool enough. The fang of a Tigerclan warrior!!!! Okay, maybe that was asking for too much.

EGRETKIT

it's warm and comfy in the nest egretkit shares with her brothers – curled up in a ball as she dreams about eating a super duper big bird with her friends and family. bicolor ears twitch at a familiar voice calling her name. she flips, then flops, then finally opens her eyes, murmuring something incoherently as she blinks the final bit of her grogginess away. it takes her a second, but her brain processes that, oh! it's papa!

"PAPA!" egretkit cheers, quick to rush after her brother, gracklekit to the mouth of the nursery. ooh, papa has stuff to show them all? papa is a big cat, meaning he can leave the camp. so, whatever he wants to show them must be super cool! and..oh, what's the word? oh, oh - rare! but..she doesn't see anything? nose scrunching, she inspects her father, trying to spot any items. she fails to see anything so then she's looking at gracks, grinning widely.

"oh! oh, I know what it is, gracks!" she announces in a confident tone, followed by a nod. "I bet it's a really big bird! I was even dreaming about one just a second ago, too." yes, the huge bird she dreamt about definitely manifested a physical form, and her papa caught it. a feast for everybody!

Crowkit

Crowkit was half distracted with his brilliant plan to dig out from under the nursery so that he could have a secret tunnel in and out for his tricks! Imagine! If someone was like ‘Crowkit! I asked for a mouse not a vole-’ because isnt that just the trickiest trick that ever tricked, then he could just hop right out the nursery from under their nose! They would have no idea where he even was! How was that for sneaky, Deadmoon ma’am! The kitten cheered in his mind as he attempted to dig his tiny claws into the soil of the nursery. He didn’t hear as Papabird called all the litter together, and he didn’t even hear Gracklekit! It was only when Egretkit cheered out for papa that Crowkit looked up to see what was going on.

Only to see that his siblings were already way ahead of him! WHAT! That was so not fair! What was going on, and why were they trying to exclude Crowkit from it. So mean! The crowbaby quickly dropped his current project and quickly turned to bound his way over to wherever Egretkit and Gracklekit were going because obviously that meant Crowkit had to . “Papa! Papabird! Wha’s goin’ on!” And why is Crowy being left out! This was so unfair! He stopped at his papa’s paws, looking up expectantly and excitedly.
