Caveclaw continued to explain "Cats are more likely to notice you than prey, you will need to keep your paw steps as quiet as possible. You've experienced battle, so you're aware that a misstep is more dangerous with this than it is with hunting."

She thought for another moment.

"Show me your crouch." They then said.
It'd been a while, it may be rusty, but it also may not be, as Dewpaw was able to survive for two moons away from the clan, so she has likely gotten decent at hunting, at least.

Dewpaw crouched to the ground, it was much better than than when Caveclaw had seen her last. She couldn't see very well. But with Caveclaws scent overpowering the rest of the clans, it was easier to figure out where they were. Dewpaw spoke, "This good? I'm sure it's not perfect but would it work?"

Caveclaw took note that Dewpaw's crouch had improved.
"Excellent, actually." She commented, before moving to the next step "The easiest way to learn is by doing, when it comes to stealth."

"It's easier when you've already got experience with hunting, but like I said before, cats are harder to sneak up on. We're more in tune with our senses." Caveclaw continued "I'm going to turn away. I want you to try and sneak up on me. Use anything you can to keep me from noticing you."

With that, Caveclaw backed up a bit, turned away, and sat down.

Dewpaw eyed the blurry figure. Okay. She lightened her step to the best of her ability, going as slowly as possible. She crept up slowly... slowly.. When she made it to Caveclaw she wasn't sure what to do. So she just gently touched them with her paw. "Let me know how that was.. I think I may have been a little heavy footed.." She sat there thoughtfully, trying to think of what else could have made noise or vibrations.

She had heard some of Dewpaw's footsteps, yes, but she had done decently well other than that.

"Yes, your footsteps were just a little heavy, but other than that, I'd say you would've done pretty well." Caveclaw replied "You would be more likely to surprise someone around the same age as you."

She thought for a moment "Stalk around a bit, try to get use to keeping your paws quiet." They instructed.

She had heard some of Dewpaw's footsteps, yes, but she had done decently well other than that.

Dewpaw smiled, "I'm glad you're teachin' me this." She then crept around, slowly walking. She tried to lighten her steps more than she did earlier. She needed to get this down. It'd be useful, especially when hunting. She kind of made circles, creeping slowly. She could get used to this. It wasn't fast paced, just slowly moving. It was a little weird on her joints but that was okay. "Y'know, I missed you greatly. I'm glad that I could return back to the clan."

"Alright." Dewpaw's pupils turned to slits. Her ears were perked, listening to the sounds around her. Even listening to the sounds she made. She crept slowly and carefully, tail hovering above the ground. Slow.. Steady steps.

Dewpaw crept closer.. Closer.. Once she was close enough to Caveclaw, she gently tapped them with her paw. Her ears perked up as she waited to see what their former mentor had to say. "How was that?" She had a soft smile. She was fond of Caveclaw. She was happy it was Caveclaw teaching this, instead of someone else.
