The night air was refreshing, blowing through Rabbitfur's long white fur in waves. Glowing little fireflies hovered around him, and the sound of the waterfall was lulling him to a state of total peace. While Rabbitfur was often a source of boundless energy, much like his daughter Daffodilpaw, every now and then taking some time to relax and be calm was nice. Wonder if little Daffy will ever get that memo. He mused with a hearty chuckle. He loved listening to the Twilight Waterfall, the crickets, and the wind in the grass as he stared at the night sky. Just allowing himself to sit with himself for a little bit.
Bouncepaw licks his pelt as he slowly pads forward. His fur bristles in the night air, the breeze sweeps past his fur, and he heads over to the spot. Bouncepaw steps cautiously while scanning his surroundings. He didn't want to accidentally get hurt, or fall into the water. And soon Bouncepaw hears the sound of crickets and the waterfall. His father was right. Bouncepaw loses his restraint, now that he is safe and relaxed, and his paws have a slight bounce in their step.
"It really is beautiful, just as Rabbitfur said," Bouncepaw meows softly, "I wonder where all these lights are coming from."
The lights, or fireflies, are especially dancing around a specific spot. Bouncepaw steps closer, and stiffens when he sees a large figure already sitting there. He only relaxes when he notices it's his father. And not, let's say, two cats in the middle of a romantic tryst-now that was one of the most awkward moments ever.
"Rabbitfur!" He calls his father by name, as do many clan cats.
Rabbitfur's ears perked and swiveled when he heard his name come from a familiar, beloved voice. He turned to look over his shoulder, amber eyes flashing as the moonlight caught them. "Bouncepaw!" He called back, a deep rumbling purr in his chest. "You decided to check it out!" He had told his son about this spot long ago as a calming place to come to. He was glad to see his son had taken his advice.
The large white warrior scooted over to give Bouncepaw space to sit next to him. Eyes shining with joy. "I'm glad you're here, my boy!" He purred with a beaming smile. "What do you think?" As he asked his question, Rabbitfur turned his eyes back out to the night sky. Revealing at how the fireflies looked like stars among them.
[OOC: Also, just a heads up! I have Daffodil aging 1 moon on the 24th of every month, so I have her at 7 moons now lol. I meant to tell you. ]

(For some unknown reason I didn't get any notifs from mentions or quotes, so my reply was late. Oops. I'm asking to get it fixed rn. And hooray for 7 month year old Bouncepaw and Daffodilpaw.)
"They look like the little stars dancing in the sky," Bouncepaw meows as a reply, sitting down in the space Rabbitfur had provided. "But closer to the ground. What are they?"
Kits weren't allowed outside of camp, but the fireflies never ventured inside, so this was Bouncepaw's first time seeing fireflies outside in the dark night sky. He didn't know what they were, just that, as Rabbitfur said, it was a beautiful sight. Especially since it was just them, though his mother or Daffodilpaw might not like that fact.
He glances up at the stars, gazing at their beauty. No clouds are in the air tonight- it's completely clear.

[No worries lol, it happens]
Rabbitfur beamed at his son. "I agree! They're little bugs called fireflies." He purred, a deep rumbling purr that almost seem to make the ground tremble. Rabbitfur looked back at the scene in awe. "They only come out on greenleaf nights." He added. Rabbitfur relished this moment with his son. He knew that he played a lot with Daffodilpaw, but he really was grateful for this opportunity to bond more with Bouncepaw too. His whiskers twitched with a thought.
"Has your mother told you the story about how you got your name?" He asked, his eyes glinting with a slight mischief as he glanced sideways at his boy. He's gotten so big recently... StarClan help me, they're aging too fast!
Only on greenleaf nights? Didn't that mean the next time he'll see these lights is after he becomes a warrior? The thought makes this night seem even more special.
"No, she never told me." Bouncepaw replies to Rabbitfur's question unconsciously, eyes still following the stars in the sky. His mother, being a practical she-cat, hadn't seen the point of explaining the meaning of his name to him. And neither did he really ask.

Rabbitfur purred with amusement. "I figured as much." He meowed with a chuckle, turning his eyes back to the dancing lights in the sky around them. "Truth be told, I was so excited when you were born that I bounced and slipped, spraining my paw. I wanted to name you 'Bounce' because I forever wanted you to remember how happy I was that you came into our world." He explained, eyes glazing with nostalgia. Then he laughed again. "Your mother named Daffodilpaw, because of the color of her pelt." He meowed through the laugh. The differences between him and Gorseflower were pretty big, she was so practical and logical. But that was what Rabbitfur loved most about her.

"That makes sense." Bouncepaw nods. He didn't understand why his father was laughing. Daffodilpaw alao sounded like a great name, and he also thought his sister's pelt was the color of the flower.
As Bouncepaw is thinking this, he suddenly hears a loud bang. It's far from the forest, seems to come from the Twolegplace, and Bouncepaw jumps to all fours as a wreath of fire and sparks seem to explode and bloom in the night sky. Fireworks. "What the-" This isn't the end. Another flower of fire bursts in the sky, this time the color is yellow. It doesn't seem to be dangerous. And more and more of them follow. Bouncepaw follows them with his eyes.

Rabbitfur continued to chuckle lightly, enjoying reminiscing on the memory. His thoughts were interrupted by a loud bang! His head and ears turned instinctively, and he purred at the sight. "Don't worry, son." He purred. "They're usually fine."Usually was the operative word, but unless the sparks catch fire in the forest or something there was no harm. "I don't know what Twolegs or others call them, but I call them Sky Flowers." He meowed. "Twolegs set them off sometimes."
He sat for a moment in quiet awe, the bright colors lighting the sky was a stunning sight with the fireflies and the clear night sky. Rabbitfur smiled a big, wide smile, sighing happily. "Beautiful..." He purred, the bright colors of the Sky Flowers reflecting off his pure white fur.
"If you're sure..." Unlike this father, Bouncepaw is not sure. Not sure at all. The explosions were so loud and firey that they made his fur stand up with every spark. Starclan knew why they were so loud and shocking.
Bouncepaw steps nearer, onto a stone, to see the fireworks better. It stings a little, not only his eyes, but his paws.
Bouncepaw frowns, glancing at his paw. He didn't notice previously, but now that he applied pressure on it, it hurt. There was a small bump on his pads, likely blisters from training.
