He stands tall under their gazes, staring back evenly. Fallownose knows this is risky, that he had his chance, but he will not back down. Not now. The answer to the question flows easily from his tongue as water in a stream. He does not falter.

"A resurrection would cause more problems than it is worth in WindClan, which is why I request a reincarnation. I dedicated my life to serving my Clan as a warrior, and then as Twilightstar's deputy. Unfortunately, at the end, I faltered, and then died before I could confront my mistakes. I desire the reincarnation so I may once again serve WindClan and Twilightstar. I could list the things I would like to do, but should this be granted I cannot promise who I become will be the same as what I could promise here. I do know that I can better serve WindClan, and Twilightstar, in life than in death. I intend to become a warrior again, fighting for them as they fought for me. And hopefully, this will also allow Twilightstar some peace of mind to know that I came back for her, even if I will not be entirely the same. Still, if there is anymore knowledge you need from me, ask and I will provide the answer to the best of my ability."

A high rank making a bid for life anew, now that was always a rare sight. Sure that Fox/Foxstep/Alderstep was one but in comparison to the cat standing before him that deputy was a small fish. But, that didnt mean Barkblaze exactly respected Fallownoses desire to go back. In fact he was rather skeptical, and he was sure it showed on his face as the ex medicine cat appeared from the mist and sat, listening to the bid.

If Fallownose thought this was going to be quick and easy due to his esteemed status he was going to quickly encounter some harsh truths that hadnt been spoken of due to starclans sympathy for his death.

"Funny how you seem to be aware of your 'mistakes' but gloss over them with little detail, as if hoping we'll do the same. A reincarnation would allow you to forever do the same, and I must say Im ill inclined to allow that at the moment especially since you've done very little since death at all, much less anything to rectify them."
It was disappointing honestly. Some cats took the time after death to rest from a taxing life but Fallownose had 'rested' enough before he died in Barkblazes mind. Yet he was still static and, to the medicine cats recollection, did but one thing since he died. One thing that'd resulted in as much bad as it had good.

"Fallownose in the moons before you died you were a poor deputy. Cats sing your accolades now but patrols were scant and so were your appearances despite the flood windclan was quickly rushing against. You were just not active or doing what a deputy should, languishing in your apathy. Or was it grief for Berryfrost? Either way you let the clan down with that when war was already looming.

And then with a foolhardy act you kicked it off and died, leaving windclan reeling in your wake. You even confirmed it later! Tell me Fallownose, even if this was the best action to curb riverclan do you know how many of your clanmates died in your name fighting them? Do you remember their names? You should I think, your absence weakened your clan and your death sealed their fate.

And yet despite the fact that you couldve spoken in dreams to council, learned to slightly effect the living world to help, couldve done any number of things to even slightly make up for your deficiencies you languished again."
In that manner Fallownose had doomed himself. From actions before, high activity and involvement he'd displayed exactly what he could be and do, and so seemed all the more lacking when now he didnt.


"So again, tell me. Why should I allow you to skirt the debt you owe by escaping to a new life where you remember naught?"

Well, this isn't something you see every day. Green hues lay on the former WindClanner as he spoke, judgement in his gaze. He stayed silent as Barkblaze spoke, the brown tom listening closely. Once it fell silent, Lichenflood spoke up.

"You have had many moons to correct your mistakes, Fallownose. And yet, here you are now. You say you died before you could confront them, when that is simply not true. Enlighten me, what makes you think, after everything you've done, that you deserve a second chance?" Harsh, sure, but Lichenflood was speaking his mind.

"Barkblaze is correct. There were many dangers looming, and yet you barley did what you were supposed to as a deputy. You had a duty, and you failed to do even that. Tell me why you should get a second chance after all that? I don't want you back and doing nothing yet again. Tell me. Why do you deserve this chance?"

The arguing had already started by the time she had gotten there. Dustpoppy slunk out of the shadows, icy eyes flicking from each of the three toms in front of her. Her gaze snagged on their new subject: Fallownose. WindClan's former deputy... The shadowy she-cat canted her head, thoughts racing as she studied his starry form. Reincarnation? Into something new... something unfamiliar... something... easy. A life where you could run from your mistakes, where you could hide under the veil of a new life, new body, new identity. How... boring.

But her thoughts on it didn't matter, no no. What she wanted to know was why Fallownose thought he deserved this opportunity. Why he thought he deserved another chance to let down the clan who fractured under his leadership and shattered after his death. Poor, poor Twilightstar~ Dustpoppy didn't envy her in the slightest.

It seemed everyone had asked the same question she thought, so Dustpoppy decided to throw another log onto the pyre and watch it burn. Why not play devil's advocate? Would Fallownose own up to his uselessness? Or would he latch onto sympathy and use it as a shield? Dustpoppy liked to see how the cats begging for second chances reacted when confronted with the choice between truth or comfort. "Sickness of the mind is sickness of the body." She meowed quietly, rising to her full height on the other side of Barkblaze. "Shame you were killed before you could heal." Her unnervingly bright gaze never left Fallownose's. "Not your fault your mind deteriorated." The little smile she gave was too full of teeth to be comforting.

Fallownose raises an eyebrow at the first two Warden's to speak and takes a moment to compose himself. He silently chides himself for thinking their position equates to their intelligence. He came expecting more, but the words from the first two are ridiculous, and the last one is simply annoying. "Forgive me, for I was unaware that I was supposed to detail my past mistakes. I thought this was to be a discussion about the future, but clearly I am mistaken. And I am a little frightened about your definition of reincarnation if you believe it will allow me to be the same. I was led to believe who I am now will no longer exist, not that my spirit would be put into the body of Crowtooth where making the same mistakes would be possible."

Perhaps antagonizing the cats that make the decisions on who gets reincarnated isn't Fallownose's best decision, but he's tired of the double standards and hypocrisy. "What I find funny, is the fact that you seem to think WindClan is weak. Perhaps if you were to actually pay attention to the Clans you would know that, but you don't. Instead you sit here and blame me for giving Twilightstar my support at the Gathering after my death for everything that followed. If you refuse to send me back then I can speak in dreams just like you did with ThunderClan. I will gladly inform Twilightstar of every Clan's camp locations, battle plans, patrol routines, sicknesses of high ranks, everything." They made the mistake of snitching to ThunderClan about WindClan's sickness. If they choose to force him to remain here, then he promises to himself that he will turn their game right back around and onto them.

"I digress, as the point of this discussion is supposed to be my reincarnation. And that is what it is, a reincarnation, not an escape. So please, unless you have something to say about the actual matter at paw, keep your mouth shut. Cats from the Dark Forest can enter StarClan's hunting grounds at will, and yet here you all are, 'languishing' as you so put it. Your hypocrisy is not a good look. I acknowledge the mistakes I made in life, but a reincarnation will put me in a position where I will not be able to make them again unless I became deputy in the new life. And yes, while I was sick in both mind and body, that is simply how I died. No more, no less. Did you have anything relevant that you actually wanted to ask me? Either way, a reincarnation is a new life where I can be better than I was in my last. I know I'll make mistakes, but the chances are they will be new ones, not old ones. I can't change the past, and I sure as hell don't want to change the future up here where you all sit on your asses and do nothing. So choose."

Harsh words and a harsher stare, but he speaks only the truth. Fallownose leaves his threats and barbs at that and awaits their judgement. It is up to them to decide between the fate of one cat and the secrets of three Clans.

What an egotistical little man. Barkblaze remained unimpressed, not chastised by this sad former deputy's spat comment. Especially when they all rung as excuses to the warden. It was almost amusing even and the medicine cats tail flicked, musing "Such vitriol to our questions, its almost like your insulted were asking at all... Tell me did you wander into a place of judgement expecting to not be? Youve gone so long without anyone questioning or contradicting you that anyone doing so is almost personal to you, heh."



But that was beside the point and amusement faded as Barkblaze flatly rolled his eyes at Fallownoses almost threat, uncaring for it. "You speak of warning windclan of secrets like we'd care. Wardens are impartial by nature and others have done such acts first. What matters more is that you could have done any of the acts you threaten now before coming here and instead rotted in inaction, but I shall let the other wardens speak on that more." There was much they could speak of really. Of how the future was born from the past and so Fallownose needed to confront and repair his mistakes to truely move on. That souls tended to be similar to their past lives in new so the worry of the deputy failing in a similar manner is still a worry that needed to be planned against. They could even speak of why such a fool cat who baited his own death, despite knowing the consequences for his clan if he did perish, should be rewarded after that. But Barkblaze had other things to focus on today.




A scornful sneer broke over the toms muzzle as green eyes narrowed, furious.
"Reincarnation, not an escape.... And yet if you reincarnated you'd escape ever making things up to the innocent you murdered. The once friend you damned alongside that poisonous love of yours..." Barkblaze let it hang in the air, curious if Fallownose would catch on and start to realize what he'd done.

"YOU brought Scorchedfang into windclan. YOU brought such a cat with darkness into his heart into your home and around your family because YOU were so blinded by your love for him you couldnt see he was using you." A barked sharp laugh and an almost cruel smirk at the irony. "Well once he was done using you for his purposes he dropped you quick didnt he? So let me tell you the truth. It was Scorchedfang who poisoned windclan, who killed so many including your own damn daughter and pinned the blame on Cowtuft. And you believed him so soundly and blindly that you even crossed Twilightstars dictation and orders and murdered that poor betrayed soul with the real culprit by your side.


What an incredible deputy and example of a cat you are Fallownose, you wish to move on and forget your actions while Cowtuft never can where he now rests in the dark forest, convinced of his guilt for Scorchedfangs actions and placed there by YOU."
It was cold hard truth, not delivered for malicious intent besides perhaps disgust at the action but to make Fallownose see. To make Fallownose drop his fool pride and embrace the humility he deserved for his action and inaction and learn as the wardens wanted him too before they even considered his plea/


"You have the choice to either stay in death and take advantage of the tattered veil which you blame us for in the way few others ever will to find Cowtuft in the df and tell him the truth even he didnt know. Absolve him of the crimes you convinced him he is guilty of.... Or leave. Abandon him and your actions unatoned for your 'new life' and clean slate. A pretty perfect second chance he will likely never get where you can forget all your flaws and mistakes, convincing yourself this is 'to help windclan' and not just to help yourself."
