Heathernose couldn’t help but laugh softly, returning his affectionate nuzzle. “Just getting wrapped up in the logistics.” She admitted. “I’ll need to speak with Twilightstar about moving to the nursery. And…I’ll miss sharing a nest with you at night.” She felt a little more timid admitting this out loud, but she still twined her tail with Lionscar’s, her tail looking like a thin brown vine against his thick and fluffy yellow tail. “I’ll be alone until the kits are born. And then I’ll be in the nursery for 6 more moons until they’re apprenticed. It’ll just be an adjustment.” She meowed.

She was a cat used to structure and routine. And she’d gotten used to feeling Lionscar’s presence next to her while she fell asleep, she felt safe. Having a new, empty nest without his scent near her was going to be…lonely. At least until the kits were born. It was worth it, but she would miss him a lot.

"I'll lay with you until you fall asleep if it will make you feel better." he mewed. TThen he noticed a blue feather. He picked it up and walked towards her and put it it in front of her. "here in case you miss me." he mewed softly. @Luna16

Heathernose purred at Lionscar's offer and nodded. "Yes, I think that would help a lot." She responded. She tilted her head curiously when he walked away, but then smiled when he returned with the feather. She bent over the feather with a purr and sniffed it before picking it up carefully. She touched her nose to Lionscar's cheek appreciatively. "Thank you, it kind of has your scent on it." She purred, carefully touching the feather to Lionscar's chest in hopes it will pick up more of his scent. "This will help me sleep at night for sure." She purred.

The fireflies lighting around them, sitting here with Lionscar like this, Heathernose could not remember the last time she felt this at peace and happy. It felt like she would never stop purring, and she would not be able to put the feather away any time soon either. I shall treasure this forever.

Heathernose purred, turning to paw Lionscar's nose playfully with her paw. "That's debatable." She purred, careful to speak around the feather without dropping it, looking at Lionscar with eyes full of love. She leaned against him again, looking back at the fireflies. "Will you help me build my nest in the nursery tomorrow?" She asked breathing in his comforting scent.

Heathernose smiled, touching her nose to Lionscar's cheek. "Good." She purred. "I supposed I'll speak with Twilightstar soon then... Do you think...do you think she'll be upset or disappointed?" She asked, now again concerned about where this leaves Snowpaw. Heathernose was Snowpaw's second mentor, what if Twilightstar is upset with her? Or Snowpaw's training or self-esteem became impacted?

Heathernose breathed a sigh of relief, almost dropping the feather but quickly snatching it out of the air again. "You would do that for me?" She meowed, but she became concerned again. "But what about your current apprentice?"
