Vinepaw shifted uncomfortably beside Lightningpaw, his eyes clouded with a hint of worry. The low murmur of the camp and the distant flickers of light did little to ease the unease that had settled in his chest.
"Hey, Lightningpaw," Vinepaw began, his voice hesitant. "I’ve been having some strange dreams lately. They’ve been really vivid... and unsettling."
Vinepaw glanced around to make sure no one else was listening. “They’re always the same—dark and shadowy, with this feeling of being watched. I can’t ever make out what’s happening, but I wake up feeling like something’s following me.”
Daffodilpaw padded over when she heard Twilightstar's call, looking attentively up at her leader.

Heather padded out of the nursery, sitting with her tail curled around her paws.

Rabbitfur bounded over to join his clanmates, looking attentively at Twilightstar.
[OPEN]
Moonbee padded away from the young kit and walked over to the clearing of the fresh kill pile. Her eyes scanned the pile on what she wanted to eat. Her one blue and one amber eye scanned back and forth. She looked up as she watched Rabbitfur walk over to his clanmates.
"You have holes in your ears." Maybe Crowtooth hadn't noticed, but a certain one-moon old miracle child had waddled up to the black and white furred deputy, tiny body looking ridiculously small in front of the older feline. And yet, she scowled as she stared up at him, expression nothing short of serious.
"And your fur is rip. Tell me why." Her demand was followed by both eerie stillness and a blank stare, as if she'd frozen in place, not even bothering to sit down, blue eyes focused intently on the deputy as she awaited his answer.
Hello weirdly creepy infant, who let you outside the dungeon.
Crowtooth sat, frozen and slightly wide eyed as he stared down at the kitten, downright baffled she'd approached him. Sure it was widely known by his clanmates that behind a grizzly exterior Crowtooth was a rather goofy cat but it usually took kittens a bit to realize that and stop crying when he spoke. Best case was they were strange little things and sensed his similar oddity or he made the effort to warm them up to him and then they were okay approaching. ....Maybe this was a case of the earlier?
If that case maybe the kitten (Crowtooth could swear he knew which hellspawn this one belonged to) would get upset if he tried to baby-ify the explanation. Best to try honesty, if the kid ran screaming he could apologize later.
Doing his best to smooth out his darth vader esque breathing and intimidating deep broken voice the deputy replied, locking in an involuntary staring content. "Sometimes when ya get hurt the wound dont heal fully an' the fur or missin' bits dont grow back. Ive been in a lotta battles an' been hurt lots.
Twilightstar has been as well, its why she's got lotsa scars an' missin bits too."
Best to forestall the question about why the leader on the galewood was missing a whole eye before he ended up having to explain that the leader was kidnapped and tortured and had her eye taken because of that.

The loud shout from outside the nursery had disturbed Jaggedkit as well as annoyed him. Who dares to disturb his peace? He would have ignored it but he'd noticed his sister heading outside. As any cat would, he followed. He'd been outside a few times before but this time was different! Everyone was crowding around, it sparked Jaggedkit curiosity.
“Straws wait!” he called as he watched his sister disappear into the crowd. She left without him, how rude! Picking up his pace, he ran after her in hopes to catch up but at the same time he wanted to investigate why everyone was crowding around. As he pushed through the crowd he felt a feeling he didn't feel a lot. One that kept him from looking at the bigger cats or talking to them, it was like fear but different. He didn't know the word for it. "Straws?" he hissed, as he tried to locate the fuzzbrain. He honestly hated being alone, expscially among strangers, sure he disliked his siblings but he liked them more than everyone else. He finally spotted his sister, she seemed to be talking to some older cat. She made talking to stranger seem so easy, he was about to approach her when he looked at the big cat. Like really looked at him. He had holes in his ears and his fur was all shredded. The sight made Jaggedkit stop in his tracks as his stomach churned. Nope, rather not.
Turning away he decided he'd go find someone else or maybe just see what this whole gathering was. He soon found the source of the crowd, and it was just a giant old tree. Seriously what was so cool about that? Jaggedkit skeptically stared at the tree as if trying to spot the interest that every cat else had seen. Finally following one of the strangers gaze he spotted a cat standing on one of branches looking down at them...and...oh my..
Why did every look like this!? This cat looked even worse than the cat his sister had been talking to. Their pelt was shredded far worse and their face-- Jaggedkit didn't know why but the sight just upset him. He didn't like it, it made his stomach churn and he felt sick. What was this, why did they look like that? Why was Every one gathering around a tree!? What's going on??? Jaggedkit shrank away from the tree, retreating back further into the crowd in hopes to either find his sister again or go back to the nursery but he soon realised, he could not see where the nursery was! Everyone was too big and they were blocking his vision. There were too many strangers, and he was lost, and he didn't like it! Strangely he was wishing that one of his louder siblings were here, maybe Card or even frost! Any of his littermates would make this less scary, why was it scary? He wished he could just dig a hole and hide in it at this point.

hearing miss twillystar's call, egretkit is tumbling out of the nursery and rushing (more like teetering) over to the throng of her clanmates. squeezing through the big cats, she pops near the front. wow, her first meeting! there's a lot of big cats, and medium cats, and some babies like herself. so cool! really, though, what she finds even cooler is miss twillystar up on the huge maple tree.
you know, egretkit wants to get up there too. she knows who she can ask..papa! he'll totally put her up there, yup. or maybe uncle crows!
the idea of standing on the giant maple is quickly forgotten as she stares up at twilightstar in awe. she squints then tilts her head to the side, as if closely inspecting the leader. wait a second, miss twillystar looks squishy! so, unaware that her next words might be rude (such a thing is not even known to her), the tiny kit turns to whoever's sitting next to her and speaks up. "why does miss twillystar look kinda round like a mossball?"

"expecting kits..?" egretkit repeats in a puzzled tone, frowning slightly. excuse her language, but what the heck does that mean? she knows what kits are, because she's one of those, but what in the world does expecting mean! expecting starts with the same sound eating does..did twillystar eat kits?! no, no. because that means gracks, crowy, and her would have been eaten, too. well, she must've eaten something, like a huge bird. ah, wait! a kit must be some sort of prey, and kits, the rank, is named after that!
anywho, mistykit is older, so she's pretty sure she's right. just like sneezy was.
"I dunno what that means, but I believe you!" she grins with a firm nod. "twillystar must've eaten a lot of kits then!" she comments, fully convinced that expecting was just another word for eating, and kits were some type of prey.
