Risingmoon

Risingmoon beckoned her apprentice - Tigerpaw - over to her with a flick of her muzzle. ´´Come sit with me. I want to be able to see you at all times, especially since the only training you have at the moment is hunting and battle.´´

The pale-gray-and-white warrior´s blue eyes narrowed thoughtfully, her whiskers twitching. ´´I want to focus on your battle training for a couple more days, and then I´ll see where you´re at with hunting. If you´re at a good point, I´ll keep you going from there. However, if I don´t like what I see, I´ll start from scratch. Do I make myself clear and understood?´´ Risingmoon fixed a firm look on Tigerpaw. She wanted to show Dawnstar that she was a perfectly capable mentor who could keep her apprentice in line.

No deaths. No murder. No other tragedy of cats she doesn't exactly give a crap about. Great. Now she can go out on her own again without needing a whole other cat following her around. This was good news for her since she was sick an tired of being near someone everywhere she goes (and if the damn rule was put back into place once again somewhere in the forseeable future she might as well become the murderer herself cause something like this needing restricted means some cats need to go)... “That’s nice! There is always the possibility that you become one early!” he prompted, trying to get the kit a bit more excited. It was entertaining though. Hell…maybe he’d be this kits mentor? Out of all the warriors in the clan, he knew that was nearly impossible but still.

Dawnstar seems scarier than usual, this meeting; Mosquitokit is almost nervous about stepping up until he rationalizes that, probably, it's her big belly giving her trouble. Lots of queens who haven't met their kits yet complain about their bellies. And anyway, it sounds like the clan is behaving well otherwise, so unless it's some other grown-cat trouble he can't wrap his head around then maybe—

"Oh!" He hadn't moved at all. It'd been the sight of Shadekit's back— I still can't see your stripes very well...why is it amusing to him, now?—and then, over there, Wormkit's tattered little ear, that pulled him out of his thinkingthinkingthinking and there he gooooes, staggering over his own paws just a tad but making it to the right spot in one piece. He's here. He's here. He's doing this. And it's even better because he has friends here, too! It's good. It's good. It's okay.

GLADEPAW

Once again, Gladepaw had situated himself at the rear of the gathered cats for the meeting, responding energetically though also reserved in his demeanor. He arranged himself primly, sat on his haunches with his tail sweeping a slow pattern behind him. Dawnstar had called a meeting, the stalwart, weathered cedar trunk becoming once more a place of vivacious atmosphere and attentive, quiet clan members. Nothing of note had happened—at least none that he was aware of. With no tragedies to speak of, and no horrors whispered in the dark of night, Glade felt somewhat relieved for this leg of the meeting.

As Dawnstar reported the purpose for the meeting—revealed to be the ceremonies of a few kits—and announced the relinquishment of the restriction for cats going out in pairs, hopefully curbing any unease about past events, Gladepaw found himself infused with a sense of determination. His training, though somewhat trodden and occasionally surprising (much to his delight), was underway. Silence invaded the clearing as the kits made their way atop, leaving Glade to curiously, quietly, and with a small hint of glee (as was part of his nature) watch those around him.

Hoooldup. By restriction lifted, did that mean apprentices could get caught and not be killed for escaping? Really, that was the main thing thwarting Gutspaw. Being dead wasn't in its books! At least it would be a warrior soon. Freedom was in its horizons.

Loads of kits, and a lifted restriction. Neither of the above seemed likely to directly impact Shrewstep, though he supposed he might get an apprentice seeing as Silkpaw hadn't been seen in a while. Regardless, it would be nice for all of the other warriors to stop having to worry about groups when they went out. Though, of course, the lifted restriction could just as easily lead to a return of the cannibal and another pain in the tail for him to think about. He was glad they hadn't needed to use his rather bloody plan to get rid of the threat, though he had been relatively convinced that it was a good one. Oh well, they could always try it in the future if a new issue cropped up. (open)

One, two— Ow — three, four, five, six. The she-cat counted each kit as they stepped forward. She had all of them this time, how shocking. Wormkit should have had his ceremony last moon, but there was no point in dwelling on that.

"From this day forth, until you receive your warrior names you'll be known as, Wormpaw, Palepaw, Shadepaw, Ashpaw, Mosquitopaw, and Wisppaw."

"Palepaw, your mentor is Flytail. Mosquitopaw, Mudslide is your mentor. Squirrelrise, you'll be training Wormpaw. Shrewstep you will mentor Shadepaw. Violetsnap you'll train Wisppaw. Ashpaw your mentor is Elderberry." Dawnstar burning ambers swept through the gathered and looked at each warrior she called forth so the apprentices wouldn't be completely clueless about their mentor.

"Leapingpaw you're the only one needing a reassignment. Midnightpath, let's see how you do with an apprentice. Finish Leapingpaw's training." She told the newest warrior.

"We've lost one of our apprentices. Rainpaw was found dead in the apprentices' den." There was a tinge of something in the leader's tone as she announced the death of yet another member of her kin. She refused to dwell on it.

"Mistlewhisker, Rookfire, and Adderpaw found a pair of dead outsiders with a kit. The outsiders were poisoned and their bodies were disposed of, their kit was taken into our clan and named Yewkit." She finished with a hint of frustration.

"Though I've given you the freedom to roam the territory at your leisure, I want cats to be vigilant. RiverClan, I'm sure has already returned to their territory." She'd have to send Mistlewhisker or one of her Enforcers to check on that. "I don't know what state they're in or if they're still sore about being exiled. If they're looking for a fight, ShadowClan better be ready to give them one."

Dawnstar stood with an uncomfortable grimace on her maw and dismissed the clan with a sweeping wave of her tail.
