Hawkfur's tail lashed behind him as he poked his head out of the warrior's den, accidentally clipping the ears of another warrior. He chirped an apology over his shoulder before making his way into the clearing. Leechscar could handle it, but it seemed that Willowpaw, the leader of the patrol Lightningstorm asked for--if he heard correctly--was running out of camp after her percieved patrolmates. Hawkfur trotted towards her, catching her just as she hit the entrance. "Ho there! No one's left yet, kiddo." He glanced at the arguing cats. Yeesh. "Let's step over to the side here while they figure this out. I'm sorry this has all become so complicated." He gave Willowpaw a sheepish laughas he sidestepped the chaos hopefully with Willowpaw and Cardinalpaw at his heels. "Everyone's jumping to get on patrols! Willowpaw." He turned to the first apprentice. "Who do you want to go with you? Without anyone throwing themselves on the patrol."

Willowpaw turned at her name, and saw Hawkfur smiling at her. She followed him and sank to the ground with her paws over her ears. This was NOT going as planned.
She rose her head at Hawkfur’s last question, and meowed “I’m not sure… maybe Mosspaw or…” she thought for a moment. “Could you come? I can’t bring my mentor, because I don’t have one right now…”

Mistykit padded out of the clan's nursery into the clearing. She padded over to the fresh-kill pile, took a small grey mouse off the top and then walked over to an empty spot, where she sat down to eat her meal. While eating, she took a look around the camp, studying the warriors, the apprentices, anyone really.

The gathering had to be soon right? First gathering since riverclan had come back and the first gathering since both Rabbitpaw and Crowtooth had become a high rank. It'd be big then, for one reason or another and Crowtooth would by lying if he said it didnt worry him slightly.

Sitting down with a thump and a weary sigh after his recent checks of the border the tom idly noted the messy state of his fur, spotting several burrs in his pelt. It was the hazards of long pelts and the hot summer, everything was going to seed and looking for methods to spread out animals being a choice tactic.

The tom plucked several from his pelt before giving up, deciding that at this point the clan couldnt expect him to be tidy in appearance so there was no point in all that. The burrs could stay, whatever, besides Crowtooth could see his friends approaching and that seemed a lot more interesting.

However, twas just an ambush.
"Mornin' Hawk 'n Lightnin' how ya doin' this morni- HURK!"

Wow, this was more entertaining than he had expected it to be. Leechscar watched Fadingdawn huff and puff as if her life depended on it. The fury was doing his darndest not to break out in a laughing fit. He was pretty sure he'd get a talking to by Twilightstar for provocating her, or something. But all he was doing was reminding the she-cat that Willowpaw was the patrol leader and that she should at least recognize it.

He wouldn't say anything about the other random stuff that she spewed. She was doing that thing where she's making random stuff up again to sound better. It didn't seem like it dawned on her yet that she just sounded like a moron with dung for brains going on about stuff no one mentioned or accused her of. She seemed pretty proud of herself as she walked off with her nose in the air like she accomplished something more than being a feather brain. And her apprentice seemed to be following in the idiot's paws steps if that look he was given was anything to off of.

Willowpaw was whining about the bickering, which he wouldn't call arguing if you asked him. It was more like Fadingdawn trying to sound smart, and walking away like a coward before he could get a word cause she couldn't handle the truth. But the apprentice was trying to run out of camp without bothering to wait for him or giving his rper a chance to reply with the warrior.

Hawkfur quickly caught her and was trying to salvage the patrol or whatever. At this point, Leehcscar was done with this. He had to go find Twilightstar and see if he could put Fadingdawn on apprentice duties or something. She was getting too arrogant for his liking and Leechscar felt like Twilightstar was begging for another Flowerpaw problem.

Stars above, what a mess. Willowpaw's original offer had been well meaning, but it had been with relatively low expectations that Lightningstorm had exited the medicine cat's den alongside her to grab a bite to eat. Not because of the apprentice. She had shown initiative. It was merely because for the most part, she knew apprentices seemed more driven than warriors. Not all, of course. The furies were an obvious exception. And cats like Deadmoon and Silverrose were always dependable as well. But finding a warrior to take with her would be difficult, and she couldn't help but wonder if perhaps she could convince Twilightstar to modify that apprentice rule just a little bit. If an apprentice was fully trained in battle and hunting, wouldn't it be fair to give them some more freedom? Allow them to become more independent and start carving a name for themselves. So they could truly earn that warrior name and claim it for their own?

This notion was discarded as soon as the drama started. The herbalist didn't even have time to get food before a warrior showed up, and she had almost let her hopes go up before... nope. Fadingdawn had simply taken control of the situation, ordering Willowpaw to come to her and ask what herbs she required before calling Cardinalpaw over as well in an attempt to get Willowpaw's former patrol underway. So much for attempting to give Willowpaw the chance to show some initiative and team forming skills. A sigh escaping her, the spotted she-cat decided to stay out of it. Mostly because help was already underway in the form of Leechscar, WindClan's own chuckle buddy. Smiles only second to Batglare's.

His words were blunt, as they tended to be, but nothing harsh, and Lightningstorm allowed herself to relax as everything was cleared up. No harm, no foul. Now all Willowpaw had to do was pick up from there and go get those herbs. Hopefully she would take the- Wait... What's this?

Fadingdawn had apparently taken offense for... some reason? Tilting her head curiously, the wiry framed molly turned around fully this time, eyes narrowing dangerously the longer the warrior spoke. Blatantly disrespecting a fury with words that made it seem as though if she genuinely believed herself to be above them. How she only needed to show loyalty to the leader and deputy and the... fury lieutenant for whatever reason. This was the situation with Littlekit all over again. Yes, loyalty for Twilightstar and Crowtooth made perfect sense. In fact, loyalty for Dapplebreeze was quite sensible as well, considering the senior warrior sometimes felt like everyone's mother combined into one. But that did not mean you were not loyal to the rest of the clan. That did not mean being able to simply screech bloody ignorance and make a huge deal out of... whatever the damn hell she thought was going on here while attempting to dismiss Leechscar's authority. A move the warrior had done before to her during patrols. She had dismissed it as mere weirdness or nerves at the time... but now?

She didn't miss it. The look of derision in her apprentice's eye as she continued her incessant yowling, coaxing her tail to twitch with annoyance. Well. That was a problem. One that not even she was willing to ignore. Not that it helped in any, considering that the moment she got up the molly was gone, taking her apprentice with her. Patrol seemingly forgotten in her fit of petulant rage. Willowpaw seemed to wish to join them, but the warrior hadn't waited up... nor did Lightningstorm necessarily approve of any more apprentices going with her. Gratefully, a familiar red cat was on it, and Hawkfur stopped her before she could head out, with Leechscar removing himself from the situation altogether. Not that she could blame him. Although from the looks of it, he was heading in the direction of the leader's den, and in earnest, the healer had a few concerns of her own if that was the case.

"I'll have to apologize for that, love," the pale calico mewed in mock apology as she approached the massive tom, eyes twinkling with mischief. "Been trying to look for a good cure for that nasty case of Big Head going around. Unfortunately, it seems to have no cure so far. Symptoms include making an arse of one's self without notice alongside a complete lack of reason. I'm just hoping it's not lethal."

The cheeky grin adorning her face soon flickered, gaze turning somber as she met his eyes. He didn't seem hurt in the slightest by the molly's tantrum, which was a good thing. She supposed it made sense. The furies seemed to be quite the sturdy lot. Even Hawkfur and Dapplebreeze had kept going after the death of their mate and daughter. The herbalist was certain no one would have batted an eye if they had stumbled some along the way. If they had needed to grieve proper. But then, Twilightstar herself was unmovable it seemed, so it was only natural for her elites to be much the same way. It didn't take away from what had just happened, however. Nor the fact that it shouldn't repeat itself.

"I'm aware you hardly need my presence, but if you are headin' where I think you are, I'm coming along. Got some concerns of my own to add. Might as well get it over with in one meeting as opposed to boring Twilightstar with the same load of crap twice," she mewed, twitching an ear as she settled besides him, letting him lead the way if she had gauged the situation correctly. If not, well... the long furred molly would be hearing about this today regardless.
