Weepingwillow watched the Tom, grooming Emberkit, as the vole was placed at her paws she purred her thanks. "Oh! No it's perfectly fine, wonderful even. Thank you! I... I'm sorry were asking you so many favors, but if you don't mind. Could you keep Emberkit busy while I eat? If not he'll try and eat with me." Weepingwillow asked, her tone kind, genuine, though a bit playful as it was just her personality. She blinked across the clearing to Nightwhisper, his gaze filled with fear and hopefulness all in one. Weepingwillow blinked, her one blink having so much emotions and truthful meaning. Weepingwillow let Emberkit crawl out of the nest as she settled down to eat. "The lockdown's not your fault, hold your head up high." Weepingwillow soothed the warrior kindly.
Emberkit looked up to the warrior, "Hi." He mewed
Acornfall felt a little better at the queen's words, smiling softly back at her. He brightened again when asked to watch Emberkit, letting out a deep and rumbling purr. "Of course!" He purred. "It's no trouble at all, I love kits!" He turned to Emberkit as the little tom-kit, still purring.
"Hello young one!" Acornfall mewed. "I don't suppose you'd want to play a game with an old scrap like me?" As he invited the kit to play, he crouched down as though begging. His tail waving in the air as he wriggled his haunches.

"I always feel too bad eatin' magpies. They're so pretty...I hope if I ever run inta somethin' that eats cats it'll pass me up 'cause I'm a cutie. Prob'ly not, but, that's how I feel. About magpies, I mean. An' jays, too. Robins are whatever, I'll eat up a robin no problem. Price of bein' plain." They rattle off, not really making any effort to root around for prey until they know everyone else has gotten something. They give up the rambling for a moment just to watch Alpinepaw carefully dig up a quail.
"'N quail are alright, too. Kinda silly lookin' things, but flavor's good anyhow. You a quail fan, Alpinepaw?" She asks, keeping her tone light. Alpinepaw seems quiet, shy maybe, so Goldenpaw doesn't want to press too hard or make her feel weird. She also doesn't want to straight up ignore the she-cat, either, though; hence the quail question. In an effort not to suffocate Alpinepaw under a looong stare, Goldenpaw plants her sights on Stormpaw, who's got a squirrel pried up from the pile.
"Oh, hey, I can steal a bite or two if your tummy's not big enough for all that. Gotchu."
Cypress’paw looked over at Stormpaw and Goldenpaw nodding. ”Sounds like a plan!” he mewed, picking out a small, young magpie. “I know they’re quite pretty, but that’s one of the things I like about them. Sometimes I keep the feathers and put them in my nest.” he shrugged at Goldenpaw, replying to his question. He settled in a nice sunny patch at the end of the clearing, nodding the others over. @Highsnow of Matterhorn @Rowan @nyme

Weepingwillow purred at the agreement, her whiskers twitching at the Tom as he got playful. Emberkit then looked to his mom and then to the Tom, Emberkit crouched gently, it was wobbly but hey good posture. In the moment, Emberkit looked like an exact mini figure of his father whom was crouching on the patrol to pick up herbs. Emberkit gave an adorable giggle, he flicked his tail upwards, wiggling his haunches side to side before leaping, running his paws (claws sheathed of course) along the toms forehead. "Your a Riverclan warrior and I'm gonna beat you up!' Emberkit declared, running at the Tom in an attempt to tackle him.

Night had fallen, every cat was happily asleep in their nests, until a loud bang. It was only the first of many.
Cypress’paw woke with a start. What was that noise!? He crept out of the elders den where the apprentices were temporarily rehomed, careful not to wake any cat. He emerged to a sky full of bright colours and sounds. Whaaaatt?? A Twoleg concoction, no doubt. But it was AMAZING!! Like stars, rainbows and Cypress’paw when he overdoses himself on catmint mixed together!! His curiosity and fascination kept him from being affected by the loud booms as the sparkly things dispersed. How wonderful. Then bright boomy things went away as quickly as they came, and Cypress’paw yawned and headed back to bed. He could never get any sleep around here.

Ugh. Well. This had not gone according to plan. Sprucejumper did not like this. He did not like this one bit.
The tom did not like interactions in the best of days. That did not, however, mean that he wanted to ignore his apprentice. He just preferred to train her elsewhere. In the territory. Away from prying eyes that could judge his every non verbal move. Where he could just flounder under the singular gaze of Snotzilla. Because hey, if she didn't like his methods of teaching, she could always find someone better, right? Well... maybe not better. He was The Boulder's best student ever. Obviously there could be no better overall cat for the job... but maybe someone that could actually be assed to articulate might be a smidge more suitable for the task than him if only for the details the position entailed overall.
A sigh escaped the tom as he relegated himself to his fate. The partnerships required to escape these walls and gain some level of freedom were no longer an option, the clan instead doomed to a lockdown. A lockdown that admittedly would have had the solitary tom wondering if perhaps it was time to leave this place before sacrifices began being made to the star gods these cats worshiped... if not for the very real danger of predators outside. Fighting was not his forte. It would never be. So instead he would have to make do with what he was handed. And that meant training Snotzilla in the clearing. What a bother. Still... Sprucejumper might be many a thing, but a slacker he was not. Procrastinator in the hopes that things would look up and he could reap the benefits of patience? Sure? Do absolutely nothing when it was clear things weren't getting better? That was simply foolish, even by his standards.
"Sunpaw?" the tom called out in the clearing as he padded towards its center in a clear timbre.
He was silent, yes. But not shy. He wouldn't stammer simply because he needed to call to the pale tabby in the hopes she was around camp. It was high time they started their training... hopefully things wouldn't be as awkward today. Yeah. Right. Oh well... A cat could dream...

He picked up the squirrel happily whenever GoldenPaw agreed to eat a few bites. “Yay! Thfnk ya!” she purred, his mouth blocked by the squirrel and all its own fluffy fur. He watched as they conversed, setting his squirrel down to join in for a moment. Magpies were pretty birds, and he enjoyed the idea of decorating his own nest with them. “Oh! That’s a good idea! Can I maybe have a few feathers for my nest? Oh- maybe I can’t give some to DawnPaw too!” he though-out-loud enthusiastically.

Alpinepaw nodded and walked a bit away from the prey pile. She then set down her quail and looked at the three of them, one after another. Alpinepaw did not know what to talk about or how to contribute to the conversation. She remembered something bad suddenly. It was about magpies and ravens.
Alpinepaw's anxiety slowly ballooned and her fur puffed up. Her breathing was quickening. She looked up at the sky and saw the blue sky. The young apprentice's ears gone backwards as her pupils dilated. She thought while backing away, "Why are they talking about magpies?! Where is the magpie?!" Her anxiety was more important than the others.
Planted firmly just inside the camp entrance, Lioncrest glowered into the forest beyond his post with a simmering rage that seemed barely contained. The usually well kept and stoic tom was clearly off-kilter; long fur stuck out at weird angles, claws slipped in and out of his sheaths, and his feathery tail flicked back and forth irritably.
He was trapped. Unable to even consider attempting to find his mate, or any sign of her fate, and instead relegated to guard duty in an attempt to stay useful. He hadn't even been able to force himself to speak with his kits... He couldn't offer them comfort or answer questions when he was in such a state. So with the occasional low, rumbling growl, the large golden tom glared daggers into the woods and slowly tore up the ground with his claws as he made sure his leader's command of lockdown was followed.
