"Sometimes, to think of alternatives you have to be shown there can be." Many cats took things at face value and didn't think beyond what they were told. Wolfhive saw this most often when it came to mentor assignments; cats believing they had to train solely under that cat when it simply wasn't practical. Seeing apprentices stumble over each other dumbly when facing an unfamiliar threat - bees - with the only instruction of 'collect' seemed very similar in concept.
If this was how WindClan punished apprentices for skirting patrols, Wolfhive was more than glad to not be a WindClan cat. He wasn't sure what the lesson was here when it came to patrols - had he experienced this when he was younger he'd probably play keepaway from this dusty skunk-lookalike.
"Well, if it works it works." Wolfhive might consider honey collection for his own, but he'd at least advise them on how to prevent being stung first.
RiverClan hadn't been seen?
"Odd. They rubbed their asses so hard on our border, you'd think one of them died." It was damn near suffocating, and Wolfhive was glad they had a river between them.. he couldn't imagine the reek if they didn't have that landmark.
"Wonder if they've marked ShadowClan's... you'd think yours would be the first." Given it was WindClan's will RiverClan was driven out, one would presume RiverClan would want to show a strong front to the larger threat. But nooo, target the Clan they've repeatedly poisoned. Wolfhive hmmmed to himself, wondering if he could return the stink-war with something more toxic than just Clan scent..
... When movement caught his eye, and his demeanor took on a 180 change. Wolfhive had been fairly cordial with WindClan, uncertain and unwilling to share much of ThunderClan.. but not as aloof and distant as he was in his younger days and definitely not hostile. To this intruder, his hackles were raised and his muzzle twisted into a snarl. He looked one string away from committing a murder.
"Hey loner! What the hell do you think you're doing on Clan territory?? Scram!" He had a few extra choice words for the trespasser, whom walked the edge of both sides of the borderline, and the only thing that saved KitKat from death threats was the presence of apprentices.
