As she neared the border he slowly rose to his paws picking his prey back up. He crossed the border and dropped it closer to her. He gave a small smile as he saw her catches, a pang of jealousy clawed at his stomach but he tried his best to ignore it "Nice catch!" He said as enthusiastically as he possibly could right now.

The kit shifted away a bit, flinching in pain at the movement "oh- uh no i don't know what it was, It scarred away the squirrel I was following" He said, completely lying. His tail twitched behind it as it looked on at her.

Vinepaw smirked. "Sureee." She meowed unbelievingly and buried the prey under a pile of leaves. "I'll teach you to climb. Come on." Vinepaw meowed and led Wormpaw to a big tree.

The apprentice aged kit blushed, his gaze shooting down to the ground. It's not that he didn't learn to climb but every day that passed the small tom was growing bigger and bigger, however it meant he could spend a little more time with Vinepaw so he couldn't exacly complain.

Wormkit followed her, their pelts brushing as they padded along. He could feel himself radiating heat everytime he felt their fur touch. Gah why did every pretty she-cat who was nice to him for more than 5 seconds make him feel like he'd been eating nothing but butterflies. It was so annoying, and he didn't understand it but it was starting to him nauseous.

He shook the thought from his head as they arrived at the tree. It looked up in awe "Woah!" He exclaimed rushing up to it to examine it "That's a big tree! What kind is it?" He wondered outloud.

Vinepaw looked up. "Oh. This tree isn't even the size that I usually climb." She meowed and twitched her ears. "I think it's oak or cedar. I'm not great in the tree section." Vinepaw meowed truthfully. She padded in a circle so her body faced the tree completely.

Vinepaw sank onto her haunches, looking as if she was about to pounce. "Okay. So you're gonna want to jump onto the tree. Get into a stalking position like you would do hunting." She explained. "I'll look at your form and see if you need to adjust if you need it." Vinepaw meowed quickly, in case she was sounding like her mentor.

Wormkit nodded as he listened to her instruction. He knew how to climb, but wouldn't let her know that. He enjoyed her trying to teach him something, he also appreciated it.

It quickly got into a fairly decent hunters crouch before darting towards the tree, pushing himself up towards the lowest branch. The jump was a little bit sloppy and not quite the height it'd been hoping for. He managed to snag his claws into the bark as he started slipping, stopping his descent.

Once he was sure he was securely in the tree, he scrambled up towards the lowest branch. After safely situated on the branch he whipped around, sticking his tongue out playfully as he looked down. The Shadowclan kit's tail waved behind him.

"Thanks" He said grinning widely, his tail swaying behind him as he watched her closely. She was much better at this than he was, but he wasn't exactly being trained.

"You did a great job too!" He said with a friendly purr, he then began to scramble up to the same branch she was on "Yeah! I love it though! Actually being this tall would be so cool" He said with a soft laugh.

The sun was slowly setting as the two sat side by side on the branch, Worm paw stayed silent"Wanna watch the sunset? My mom used to watch it with me but now she's busy with warrior duties again" He said, his expression drooping a bit as his gaze fell to the ground.

The one thing about missing his apprentice ceremony was that even though he was still a 'kit', his mother had returned to her normal duties. He let out a gentle sigh, though he perked up when he looked back towards her.

He frowned a bit, but nodded in understanding "That's fair- I should probably get back before they notice I'm gone too, We should meet up again though... how about in a couple of days or so?" He called out after her, tilting his head as he looked down.
