Honeypaw was slightly behind on her training, so she figured getting some help with it today would be helpful. She knew a little bit of each but knew an extra lesson couldn't hurt. "I need some stuff..." She awkwardly called out among the group.
Hearing something about a training day the young molly grew excited. She only need rabbit hunting then she was done with her training. There was still so much she wanted to do before that, but maybe it was good to finish up the rest of her training. Then she could do other things like patrolling or hunting with others. Barleypaw sniffed the air in hope to find her mentors scent. She didn't have to teach her it was better to try and find them first.

Well then, it was a fine day after all. Seeing as Barleypaw was unoccupied at the moment - that is to say, not with another warrior at this time, Silverrose saw no issue in approaching her apprentice and announcing her presence with a light rumble. "This is as good a day as any, isn't it? Your hunting skills are quite satisfactory so far, I suggest we take this opportunity to try catching a rabbit."
And naturally, she wouldn't mind another apprentice tagging along. Especially if it were a friend of Barleypaw's.

Hawkfur's ear flicked at the familiar voice of someone he hadn't heard in a while. The tom's azure gaze settled on Silverrose, the younger warrior he had been trying to make friends with for moons. She was mentioning rabbit hunting. Hey, that was what he was doing, too! Since no one had come up to him, Hawkfur stood and padded over. He noticed Honeypaw scuffling nervously nearby, and swerved to beckon her along too. "Rabbit hunting?" He offered.
Reaching Silverrose and Barleypaw, Hawkfur gave both a half-energy smile. He was still roughed up from the last moon, so going all-out socially was impossible. "Silverrose, Barleypaw. I noticed you're going rabbit hunting, yeah?" He glanced over his shoulder at Honeypaw, who had hopefully followed. "I was thinking of taking Honeypaw out to do that. She can already hunt just fine, but if you two wouldn't mind two more we could train together." If they rejected the offer, he wouldn't particularly care. He could hunt rabbits just fine with Honeypaw. But grouping up ensured that no one got left behind. And anything Hawkfur could do to prove to Crowtooth that rabbit hunting was better than tunneling, the Fury would do.
Not as big a group as he wanted, but it was better than nothing. He looks over at Crowbreeze and scowls thoughtfully.
"I would consider that a lesson, however, if you're going to teach them endurance, you should also focus on control. There is more to running fast when it comes to hunting." Running in a way was more of an extra lesson, he didn't think it necessarily needed to be taught but learning it wouldn't hurt.
He watched several warriors arrive and collect apprentices they'd like to teach. It saved Batglare from wasting time pairing everyone up. It seemed there were more warriors than apprentices, which was disappointing, he'd have to remember the ones who participated so he could snarl at the ones slacking.
"Honeypaw, you should know what training you need. Several warriors have offered different lessons, pick one and get started."He told the only apprentice he saw standing around awkwardly.
Daffodilpaw gave a bounce for joy when Batglare said it would count. "Yay! It counts it counts!" She cheered happily. "Maybe we can do something stuff too?" She chirped, crouching down and wriggling her hindquarters. "Elkjump has already showed me the boundaries and taught me some hunting, so maybe we can add in some climbing or something cool like that too??" Daffodilpaw was just excited by the prospects and opportunities. Maybe if she worked hard enough today, she'd be made a warrior faster! But honestly, Daffodilpaw just liked doing stuff and learning new things. She didn't really particularly care when she became a warrior, as long as she had fun getting there.
Lightningpaw was acting a little.... different then he usually did around Crowtooth but the tom shrugged it off not knowing this was due to the new deputy status. After all, to himself he was still just Crowtooth with some new responsibilities, it wasnt like he'd changed from that.
Still casting it aside the tom gave Lightningpaw a reassuring grin, rasping "Aint yet fault kiddo, yer trainin' hasnt been the smoothest fer reasons outside yer control. We'll start wit' the basics but if yer findin' it too easy we can move on ta the more fun stuff." Tattered ear perking up as he heard Vinepaw approach.
He didnt mind the added company and so, with a nod he added a "Well we're glad ta 'ave ya then! As long as ya dont mind hangin' back a bit on yer skills yer welcome of course, once we got some stuff down maybe we can even run a spar between ya, try out the moves we're learnin'."
Apprentices made the tom lead the two over to an open space and got started. "First battle stances."
The deputy dropped into his, showing the apprentices as he explained. "Its the base o' all battles an' as ya can see 'ts not quite like a huntin' crouch. Yer not as low an' yer legs are more wide ta keep ya balanced. Ya dont want them too wide an' only slightly bent, like a smidgen wider then yer shoulder an' juuust bendy enough ta spring whenever ya want.
Then ya tuck yer tail around yer leg so no one can grab it, pin yer ears an' narrow yer eyes and yer ready ta fight!
Once yer in the stance attackin' is the natural next step. Bitin' an' clawin' is pretty natural but there are tips ta makin' the blows more effective. Like curlin' yer claws inward after the blow lands ta hook an' tear instead o' just slashin' or swivelin' yer shoulder while ya swipe ta put more power inta it. But mostly its down ta where ya hit.
A cats face is risky as they can try an' bite ya but ya can blind or main them if ya land it. Plus face wounds bleed a ton an' can so take yer enemy outta the fight.
Throat is a valuable spot ta hit (though can often lead ta deadly consequences) an' basically ends a fight wit' a single blow. Chest not so much though, it hurts but cats can fight through a hit there.
Now belly is a valuable spot but hard ta get too, its soft an' tender an' bleeds so will earn ya a victory quick. Again hard ta hit though.
Paws/legs are good too but dont really hurt, they just make it real hard ta fight an' gives ya an advantage. Aim fer the ankle, its the easiest ta knock out from under a foe an' disable.
Here, swipe at me ta feel out whats a good attackin' move an' try aimin' it at the vulnerable spots."
He'd not just stand there and would naturally dodge, though lightly so the apprentices could get a feeling for how an enemy would try and avoid blows at a skill level they could manage. However mostly the tom would keep an eye on the movements and correct form.
Lightningpaw- He/Him, 10 moons old, No Purrks, Windclan Apprentice.
Lightningpaw would be happy to learn from Crowtooth but he also had to explain something to the tom when he saw the battle crouch. "Umm.. Crowtooth so I ain't entirely sure that battle crouch is going to work for someone like me. You see I may be 10 moons old but I mean look at me I am so tiny being a runt and all. Plus no matter how much I try to work my muscles I don't seem to bulk up at all. When I sparred against Rabbitpaw last time I tried out a new fighting style where I kept light on my paws and tried anticipating his attacks and countering. Or even if opportunity presented I might hit an enemy with two blows versus their one blow. For the most part it worked well this style I mean. It's something I practiced by myself to try and make up for my weak attacks and small frame." Lightningpaw would tell Crowtooth he hated to stop the training in it's tracks and all but he was wondering if he could move swiftly in that battle crouch. Lightningpaw was pretty small and had a lithe build in fact if one didn't know him they would be forgiven to think Lightningpaw could be a 7.5 moon old Apprentice instead of a 10 moon old. "I guess what I am asking is could I continue fighting that way with my paws so grounded?" Lightningpaw added for clarification. @Rani @Tallstar (I do apologize for the small hiccup in the training it's just something Lightningpaw worries about. He isn't exactly blessed with the size and strength of his peers.)
-----
Twigleg would only snort as he realized no other Apprentices wanted to learn how to hunt from him that's fine Twigleg wasn't much for Young Cats anyways. Twigleg would simply turn around and look towards his Apprentice. "Very well come on Tigerpaw I am going to teach you to hunt mouse today. It's a good beginner prey to get the hunters crouch down." Twigleg told Tigerpaw. @Crown_Sage

“Great! Thank you.” Crowbreeze said to Batglare. He turned to his new charges. “Let’s go!”
Crowbreeze led the two out of camp. His short, wiry fur bristled in the tough breeze, and he breathed in the crisp moor air happily. “Okay. I’ll explain what we are going to do!” he said cheerfully as they walked. “So. We will work on some running drills, at my old training spot—I’ve never shown anyone it, really. Then we will do a nice long endurance run, rest and recover, and work a little on running up slopes. Sound good?” he stopped. “Ah. Here we are.” they’d reached a tall hill. Crow led them up the hill, and stopped at the top. It was flat, and flowers speckled the coarse peat. “Welcome!”
“Okay. Let’s get warmed up.” Crowbreeze began to bounce up and down, and stretch his limbs. He showed the apprentices how to do the same. “Either of you done any running training before?”

Daffodilpaw excitedly paced circles around Bouncepaw and Crowbreeze. "Really?" She chirped. "It's a secret place?" She had never been to a warrior's special training place. She raced after Crowbreeze, taking time to run circles excitedly around Bouncepaw as they went. "I love running! I race my mentor whenever I can but he always wins!" She fell into pace with Crowbreeze while she relayed her woes to him.
"Oh wow!" She exclaimed as they reached the spot. "It's beautiful!"

He/Him
Vinepaw watched the exchange between Lightningpaw and Crowtooth with interest. He could see Lightningpaw’s concern about adapting the battle crouch to his smaller size and build, and he admired his friend’s determination to find a fighting style that suited him.
As Crowtooth reassured Lightningpaw and acknowledged the validity of his approach, Vinepaw felt a surge of support for his friend. He shifted slightly, positioning himself to better observe the adjustments they were discussing. The deputy’s willingness to adapt the training made Vinepaw feel even more confident in Crowtooth’s leadership.
Vinepaw gave Lightningpaw an encouraging smile, his own worries momentarily forgotten. “I think it’s great that you’re figuring out what works best for you,” he said quietly. “It’s awesome to see you making the most of your strengths. I’m sure your approach will be really effective.”
His words were meant to bolster Lightningpaw’s confidence, and Vinepaw felt a renewed sense of camaraderie as they all worked together, adjusting their techniques and learning from one another.
