*takes place right before riverclan heads to the twoleg den

the oriental still felt in disbelief that moonfrost had returned home. she had been gone for a couple of moons before his own disappearance. he had so many questions, a sense of restlessness that steadily grew while he waited to get the chance to talk to her - just her. the camp was far too noisy. it was not wormbite's home, either.

after he stumbled upon a blanket of soft moss, an idea formed inside his head. he marked a nearby tree, leaving deep digits before beginning to prepare. it wasn't anything special, something to welcome her back. he outlined a spot for them with rocks, tearing off whatever evergreen he could stumble upon.

of course, it wasn't as if he could ,, quite.. see the layout. wormbite suspected it would be rather sloppy but nonetheless, it was the thought that counted. er, ,, hopefully.

afterwards, he would go hunting throughout the claimed area. he would search and search until he came upon a vole. swiftly, killing it and bringing it back to the designated spot. he would go off again, catching a fish in a stream for himself. it had been an awful long time since he had tasted it again.

wormbite buried both prey in the ground to keep it fresh before limping his way back to camp. he entered into the warrior's den, his heart beginning to beat against his chest. the closed space was never something he enjoyed these days. "moonfrosst? are you .. in here ? i wass wondering if you would like to go for an outing, " he called out softly, ears twitching whilst he waited for a response.

A sensitive ear twitched as a familiar voice roused her from her sleep. She lifted her head, jaws gaping in a yawn, before letting out a curious, distorted mrrp in response. Carefully climbing from her nest so as to not wake her sister, the dark warrior crept forward, treading lightly so as to not wake those around her. Stepping out into the cool evening air of the mountains, Moonfrost tapped her tailtip on Wormbite's shoulder and let out a hoarse purr.
An outing sounds lovely.

wormbite let out a quiet, raspy honk in response to the light touch and rumbling purr. he was very pleased she was interested. it would be a shame to postpone. the prey wouldn't be as fresh. without another word, the sin-eater started to lead his friend outside of the temporary camp. his tail was held high to help lead her. thankfully it was not too far away. he brushed against the trees, feeling for the digits he had left. though, wormbite expected he would feel the moss before anything.

he came to a halt once he reached the desginated area, slightly breaking the rock outline on accident. "i figured a picnic would be a nice way to welcome you home, " he finally spoke, shuffling about before he found the freshly turnt dirt. he unburied the prey, setting them on the moss blanket. "if.. you are not hungry, feel free to bypassss - " he paused, frowning at the lisp, "i jusst, ah, thought ,, " his voice trailed off, giving a small shrug instead. picnics just needed food. he took a seat, thumping his tail to the spot next to him as a gesture for moonfrost to come sit.
