The apprentice stood, and tasted the air. "I smell a rabbit, and I think there's
a vole through the underbrush there. A mouse nest is somewhere nearby, or was, the scent is a tad stale. Uhhmm.. a patrol was near here not too long ago. But that's a given, patrols are important. Thats all thats relevant, really." They said, looking at his mentor.

Fadingdawn nodded approvingly.

”I’ll teach you more about mice later,” She explained. “And rabbits….well, they’re our natural prey, but you’ll need to start with something easy. Try and catch the vole you pointed out.”

Cardinalpaw nodded, and circled around the bush, making sure he had the wind still blowing towards him. They spotted the vole nibbling around. It was fat, which probably meant it was slow. They crouched, and crept forward, his pawsteps silent. He pounced, and dug his claws into the vole,
killing it. He winced at the way he killed it, but it worked. They picked it up on turned around the bush, and sat with the vole in his jaws.

"A quick kill is kinder than that," Fadingdawn shook her head, green eyes narrowing down to slits. "That was good for your first catch, though next time, try to be more...clean."

She gestured to the blood spatter from the vole. "Thank StarClan for the prey, and then take that to Twilightstar."

@ollie - moon and I have arranged a joint training session between twi, fading, leaf, and cardinal, so I'm about to put up that thread o7

The young apprentice nodded, and silently thanked Starclan for the vole. "I know. Sorry. I didn't mean to kill it like that."He mewed, looking slightly guilty.

(My bad I forgot abt this. If you wanna continue training in this thread or a diff one that's good, I can set up the starter if you wanna start a different one @isla )
