Cypress’paw still felt weird to not be in the apprentice den still, luckily he had saved his butterfly wing collection and his mini-Cypress’paw painting before it collapsed - and before he got stuck himself. He looked around at the apprentices in the den, hoping to brighten the mood by asking, “Hey! Anyone wanna have a sun staring competition!? Bet you can’t beat me - I’ve been practicing!!”

"Awh that sounds awesome," it doesn't, but Goldenpaw isn't passing up on this opportunity to make a friend. They roll upright, having been slouched over languidly in a nest, lazing like a housecat. "Me, me, meee. I'm in. Watch out, buddy these're the toughest peepers in the forest. You're done." Her light, joking tone has a bit of rasp and an unfortunate nasal quality; rolling in cold mud and standing out in the rain that'd moved the here had come at an unfortunate price. She's not gonna bother their new medicine cats about it, though. It's not that bad. Though he can't remember it much anymore, he knows he's endured bad before. A tickle in his throat is surely nothing, in comparison.

Foxskipper cracked open an eye from where he was laying towards the front of the elder's den, trying to catch some of the sun rays before the fast approaching colder seasons settled in and started to bite at his bones. He always disliked the cold, the way it sank deep into his wounds, even the ones a million season cycles old. Though he appreciated it in just about any other way. The rain was beautiful, and without it the plants wouldn't grow, and the rivers wouldn't run. Though thinking about the weather wouldn't be the tom's only means of entertainment today, and this time he didn't even have to go looking for something fun. Rather he's had some visitors lately to his empty den.
He lifted his head and turns to stare deeper into the den, spotting two apprentices talking silly, without him! A crime! Raising himself onto his paws, his lame back leg dragging on the floor, he padded into the den. "What's this about a sun starin' contest? Why I reckon I was quite the pawful apprentice but blindin' 'urself takes the prey." He mewed playfully as he approached. "Don't be doing anything silly like that, you'll need those peepers, and you'll lose 'em with time eventually, no need to rush." His own eye sight wasn't the best, but at least he ain't blinding himself. Foxskipper purred as he sat back on his haunches heavily, his lame leg sticking out a bit awkwardly but the elder didn't pay it much mind.
"How about a story to pass the time instead?" Foxskipper offered.
The cat-sized hole in the Elders' Den got fixed before the Apprentices' Den collapsed onto itself. Alpinepaw was still recovering from the coyote attack. She just wanted to stare at the sun and ponder about things.
risingstorm walked into the elders den he was soaked he looked around counting the apprentices "hey who's all in here?" he said loud enough to get most cats attention "Yall need to tell me" he said

Snowpaw looked over to Risingstorm. "i'm here!" she announced.
Cypress’paw nodded at the elder kindly and respectfully, but honestly didn't believe him. “That’s very considerate of you, foxskipper, but we’ll be very careful. We’ve been training our eyes, you see. But hold onto that story for us later!!” he mewed fervently, before running off with goldenpaw. “S’nce - th’z mornin’..” he mumbled. ”Doesn’t matter though, I could totally beat you by hours!!”
Oh.. and he nodded at risingstorm on his way out to say he was here and all that.. whatever.
