"Waow."

Goldenpaw doesn't really get it. That subdued part of her, the one in charge of her sole braincell, is wary; gathering around and playing with berries sounds like a really good way for cats to get sick...but, the warriors wouldn't let anything toxic grow near camp, right? And it is pretty cool to watch the soft berry-skins burst and give way to shiny berry-guts...

He doesn't grasp the appeal of smearing that stuff on rocks, though. The rock's'll just be sticky and gross. It's...it's just, sitting around and making sticky rocks...woah. Woah. Where's your whimsy, Goldenpaw? Are you seriously hating right now? Really??

Woe! Now he's full of shame. Where'd this totally lame mood come from?! With a heavy sigh, Goldenpaw marches onto the scene with purpose and starts haphazardly pulling berries loose from the thicket that the little kitten had been harvesting from. Goldenpaw doesn't get after them with a rock, though; she mashes them with her paws and then dives nose-first into the mess on the ground to roll in it. This is a self-inflicted punishment for thinking meanie thoughts: now she has ginger patches and mucky berry smears.

The apprentice pops up after some thorough wallowing, fur all smudged and nasty. "Hey, how's it lookin'?"

"Ew."

Peachkit's approaching with a bad attitude about it because he's got a bad attitude about everything, but it's not long at all before he's sat down and locked in. Snowkit's a friend, after all. If whatever she's found is interesting, then he's going to partake.

Peachkit darts a paw out, nudging a stone up
and out of the earth before using it to mash a berry flat. He awkwardly flips the stone over and blinks down at the smear left behind by a popped berry. Hesitant, Peachkit nudges the art piece over for Snowkit's appraisal.

"Is it like this?"

Alpinepaw tilted her head at the stained stone and looked around. There were not many cats here. She picked another berry and threw it at a nearby rock. Splat! It was overripe and made a red smudge on the rock.

"Awh, that's so cool! I like flowers too. Ooh!" She perked up, suddenly getting an idea. "Imma make a flower one too!" She grabbed some berries and smudged them on a rock. Then she got another idea. She walked over to a little flower and snipped it, then smudged the yellow pollen bit onto the rock. "Wow!" She said, surprised at how good it looked. "Do you want it?" Snowkit asked, pushing the rock towards Goldenkit.

Just then, Peachkit came over and asked her a question. She looked at the rock. "Yes!" Suddenly she heard something, and saw an apprentice rolling around in some berries. She giggled. "Whoa, I wanna try too!" Then she dived into the pile, rolling around and giggling. "Cm'on, Peachkit! It's fun!" She swiped her pink tongue across her muzzle. "Ooh, and it's delicious, too! Dare you to try some," she meowed playfully.

"Oh hello, Strawberryfur!" Honeypetal said with a smile. He then paused to think for a moment before shaking his head. "Er, I'm not too sure what's going on myself. All I can see is berries 'n' colorful rocks 'n' stuff."

After a short pause, they then said, "Hey, maybe we can go see what's going on?"

Strawberryfur nodded her head eagerly, trotting over to the collection of rocks and berries. She pushed her paws into some red berries, squishing them and getting the red berry juices on her paws. This feels...so bizarre. She thought, her eyes sparkling. But also...

"So fun!" She purred, moving her berry-dipped paw across her chosen rock. "Honeypetal! Honeypetal! Check this out!" She called her friend as she waved her tail excitedly, nosing a rock over to them for their painting pleasure.

GoldenKit happily took the rock SnowKit gave him. He picked up both rocks and trotted back to the nursery happy with what he had done. The flowers brought him joy. He would probably try to paint more rocks in the future

The moment that Honeypetal's gaze landed on the rock and the berries, her pupils appeared to dilate. She immediately smudged some berry juice on her paws and claws, then beginning to make patterns and shapes with it on the rock.

Sure, their paw and arm was going to be stained with berry juice, but it'd totally be worth it. "A little thing here, this there...nope, no, like that, yes! Then this, and..."

"Done!" Honeypetal called out after a few minutes. "Hey Strawberryfur, look!" He said excitedly. But now that he looked at it...it wasn't exactly what he was going for. "It's, er, supposed to look like you!" Honeypetal smiled.

Strawberry looked over from her work to see Honeypetal's, immediately breaking into an excited purr. "Ohmigosh Honeypetal! That's awesome!" She purred bouncing around her friend before brushing her muzzle against Honeypetal's. "You're so talented and kind! Thank you!" She looked at her own random swipes and bounced back to her station. "I was doing more of a mural of my feelings!" She announced, waving her tail to show the bright swirls of red and blue she was able to create with the berries.

"This one is how happy I am that we're getting to have fun together!" She purred. "What do you think? I wish there was a way I could get some yellow on there to brighten it up."

Honeypetal nodded. "It looks great!" they said cheerfully. "Ooh, maybe I can do...Snakepelt!" Honeypetal began creating more shapes and lines on the rocks.

Cypress’paw looked around, and then trotted over. “Hey! Whatcha guys doing? Rock painting? Fun!” he scooped up some mud from the base of the tiny stream running through the clearing, and found a large, flat rock. Dumping his mud on the ground next to him, he dipped his claw in it and began to work. He took a long time on his rock, rubbing things away with the back of his paw, redoing them, adding more detail, using berries for different colours. He shook himself and lifted up his rock proudly. “Its me!! Do you lke it? I’m an artist!! Aren’t I!!” he seemed very pleased with his mini-Cypress’paw, and trotted away to wedge it into the branches of the apprentice den, right next to his nest, so every cat could see his masterpiece.
