Alpinepaw took a deep breath before responding, " Training has been slow." She then proceeded to lick her lips several times. The sun was shining on the both of them. The apprentice was not one to talk very much. She could only answer questions. Hopefully, Laurelfrost would not mind.

Her companion didn't seem to be too talkative. Which was okay, she was young, and Laurelfrost was fine with leading the conversation. "That's unfortunate. I was able to finish my apprenticeship relatively quickly." That was about as much as she wanted to talk about that rocky time in her life. "But you're still young, you have plenty of time. And I'm sure you'll make an amazing warrior when that time comes." The silver tabby figured Alpinepaw could use a little ego boost, which was a rare gift from Laurelfrost.

Alpinepaw's eyes lit up at Laurelfrost's gift. She was slightly happier to say the least. She still hopes that she would become a warrior soon. Alpinepaw was looking forward to warriorhood. She started to smile, but she forced the smile down into a more neutral expression. The apprentice had seen Laurelfrost a couple of times before. Maybe, the warrior would not notice her slight smile...

The she-cat was observant. She noticed the quick smile Alpinepaw gave at her praise. She was glad to see it, a confidence boost seemed to be what she needed. She gave Alpinepaw a kind smile, before gathering her feet under herself and standing up. She dipped her head to the apprentice. "Thanks for the meal Alpinepaw, don't be afraid to take me up on my earlier offer. I'd love to do it again."
