Heathernose smiled, she hoped Lionscar was right. She knew it would take time for her and Snowpaw to adjust to each other. And she needed to be confident in her decisions. She leaned against him again, letting out a blissful sigh as she draped her tail across his. Just enjoying the peaceful moment.

It was a few nights later now, about a quarter moon or so had passed. Heathernose bounded along the trail, coming up to the tree that had become her and Lionscar’s special place now. She paused and glanced over her shoulder, waiting for her mate to catch up. “C’mon Lionscar!” She called. “Hurry!” She turned and continued to race along until she reached the tree, slowing to a stop panting.

She sat down beneath the tree, looking over the moorland as the setting sun lit it up red and purple. Phew! That took a lot out of me! The usually skinny she-cat had put on a little more weight recently. And she thought she knew the cause. It was partly why she had asked Lionscar to come with her out here tonight. As the sun disappeared behind the hills, and Silverpelt overtook the night sky, Heathernose watched in wonder as little fireflies started to dot the air around her. She purred, enjoying the peace and beauty while she waited for Lionscar to catch up.

Heathernose purred in amusement, sitting with her chest puffed out. "Well of course!" She purred. "I am a proud WindClan warrior after all!" She proclaimed, gently flicking her tail-tip across his nose.

Heathernose smiled warmly back. She returned her gaze to the fireflies, thinking for a moment. She was suddenly starting to feel nervous about her news. She figured that Lionscar would be happy about it, but what does this mean for her duty to Snowpaw? And what if she messed things up? Anxiety started piling up in the pit of her belly, and she couldn't help pressing herself against Lionscar a little more, gathering strength from the feeling of his fur against her's.

"Aren't they beautiful?" She asked, angling her ears towards the fireflies lighting the night around them. She was stalling for time, enjoying this moment with her mate. She didn't think a few more moments would hurt any.

Heathernose smiled back at Lionscar with a purr and a spark of sass in her eyes. She knew Lionscar was flirting, but she wasn’t going to discourage it either, she liked it. But then she felt her pelt instinctively bristle at the sound of the additional voice. It had become a voice she knew all too well… Flamemane…

She jumped to her paws and turned to face him, hackles raised threateningly. But this time, she didn’t step forward right away to fight him, and there was a small spark of anxiety in her eyes and flattened ears. She had other considerations now when it came to getting into a fight… “What do you want now, Flamemane?She hissed, drawing her lips back in a threatening snarl. She knew she may be giving away too much, but she hoped neither Tom would notice her and extra attempts to appear threatening. I have a lot more to protect now…I have to think of the kits!

Lionscar flung at his brother and started scratching his face. "You evil cat!" he hissed. Flamemane flips on top of Lionscar. Attack me again Ill kill you and your mate!he hissed. @Luna16

Heathernose flinched at Flamemane's ferocity. When Lionscar was pinned, she impulsively let out a furious yowl and raced forward, slamming into Flamemane. Her eyes still glittered with anxiety, but now she stood protectively in front of her mate. "You'd do best to remember that his mate can defend herself!" She hissed, ears flattened against her head.
