Daffodilpaw tilted her head. She didn't really understand completely, but she did understand that her mentor was worried for her. She nodded and smiled brightly. "I'm okay though, Elkjump! Promise!" She declared. She turned her nose to the wind and took a deep breath, trying to find another prey trail. "On to the next right?" She asked, looking back to her mentor for approval.
“Yep!" Elkjump nodded excitedly “And if it runs, just find another."
“Yep!" Elkjump nodded excitedly “And if it runs, just find another."
Daffodilpaw nodded dutifully, tail waving. She closed her eyes and opened her mouth, drawing the scents of the moor over into her mouth to taste the air. It took her a moment to sort through all of the scent to find another prey trail, but when she found it she immediately dropped into her hunter’a crouch. She took a moment to check her tail and paws, looking at Elkjump to check her posture.

Elkjump gave a swift nod, letting the apprentice go ahead
Elkjump gave a swift nod, letting the apprentice go ahead
Daffodilpaw blinked in acknowledgement, turning her attention back to her quarry. She carefully stalked forward, keeping her tail high enough that it wouldn't brush the grass but careful to not have it so high the prey would see her right away. As she got closer, she recognized the movement and scent to be another mouse. Daffodilpaw cautiously crept forward, using her whiskers and tail to check the wind direction. This time for sure...
The mouse came into view, it was busy eating a seed and hadn't noticed her yet. Daffodilpaw leaned her weight into her hind legs and slowly unsheathed her claws, barely daring to breath. Then, like an internal switch letting her know it was the time, she sprang forward. Daffodilpaw landed on the mouse and swiftly bit it's neck, cutting off its terrified squeal. She stood crouched over the mouse with its body in her jaws in shock for a moment, she did it! She caught her first prey!
Thank StarClan for this prey. She prayed with her eyes closed, then whirled around and bounded over to Elkjump excitedly. "Look, Elkjump!" She mewed. "I caught it!"
[OOC: Just a heads up, I'm going to have spotty internet and cell connection for the next week. So my response time will vary.]

Daffodilpaw purred and set her catch down. "What's next??" She asked eagerly, crouching in a playful bow with her tail waving and weaving happily in the air.

“Bury it and try some more!" Elkjump nodded, wanting at least 3 more pieces of prey before they moved onto rabbits
