Here it was, the day had finally come. His pelt itched as he nervously shifted his weight from paw to paw. His assessment was today. No- no. He’d be fine. He knew how to fight. He just didn’t want to disappoint his clan…BristleThorn…MagpiePaw? Goodness why was her name in that list? No- he could absolutely not have any distracting thoughts right now. He had to go find the enforcer doing his assessment.

His gaze quickly fluttered around to find TuftedTusk, walking up to the larger warrior as his tail swayed . How would he do this? What if he failed? No SpiderPaw! Stop worrying. “Uh- TuftedTusk- I’m ready if you are.” he said, trying to make his voice sound stronger then he felt himself.

The large marbled tom smiled at Spiderpaw as the apprentice approached him. "Ah yes.. your assessment. From what I've been told, it will be a fighting assessment."

He flicked his tail for Spiderpaw to follow and headed out into the territory. He had never given an assessment to an apprentice before so this was good practice for him.

Finally stopping, he would turn to the tom behind him. "I'm going to assess you on your ability to sneak up on me, pin me, and evaluate your fighting prowess. Nothing too difficult, alright? Begin when you wish on the sneaking part."

He followed the larger warrior, trying to force confidence upon himself. He was fine, it was fine. He could do this, then he’d be able to have his warrior name. He listened to the tom as he spoke, giving the instructions that may hold his future and dignity.

“Okay- I’m ready…” he took a deep breath, leaping into the bushes. Remember stealth— FlyTail taught you well, use that! He crept, just about silently until the wind carried his scent away from TuftedTusk. There, hopefully the warrior wouldn’t know where he was. He was facing the larger cat’s side. Good enough to get a good knock down. He got into an attack crouch, getting ready to pounce onto the warrior.

Ready…

Set…

GO!

The apprentice leapt out of his hiding, aiming to ram into the enforcers middle side and knock him off balance.
