Alpinepaw briefly dipped her head in greeting and followed the smaller group. She was looking forward to the clan's trip and what they might see. This could provide a chance for a few cats to talk to Alpinepaw.

Cypress’paw, light brown Tom with soft green eyes and white paws.

Cypress’paw poked his head out of the apprentice den. “Hike? Sounds fun!” He trotted over and spotted the familiar orange and black pelt of Alpinepaw, walking over to greet her. “Hey! You going on the hike too? I wonder what they mean… a hike?” He furrowed his brow in contemplation. He had no idea what a hike was. If Alpinepaw was here, it had to be fun.. right?

Fleckpaw is just about to leave with the rest of the group, when she sees Beetlepaw. Fleckpaw hesitates.

"Nevermind, I think I'll stay behind." She meows apologetically to the cats around her, "See you later! Beetlepaw!" Fleckpaw bounds towards Beetlepaw, intending to keep her friend company. There was a lot of things they could do at camp- she didn't really need to go on a nature hike. Shadeclaw doesn't react to her departure, and mutely steps forward.

"Alpinepaw! Dawnpaw! Good to see you two are coming along too! This is Swiftheart and Shadeclaw." Fleckpaw introduces both cats, flicking her tail to each of them in turn as she does so. Shadeclaw dips his head in aknowledgement.

As Fleckpaw hears Swiftheart's name being mentioned, she smiles and flicks her tail to the other guides, like a wave goodbye, indicating her to lead the way.

Alpinepaw suddenly jerked back from fright. She quickly spun around to face Cypresspaw. Somehow, she was right in his face and she hurriedly backed up. The apprentice started to breathe hard. Fortunately, nobody was hostile. It was just Cypresspaw, one of her fellow denmates.

Ok, so the warrior clearly had no idea what was going on, and couldn't be bothered to clarify what he had said. Probably for the best, Brindlepaw's words hadn't been kind and he didn't particularly want to end up on nest cleaning duty. Regardless, he gave something of a haughty sniff and followed the crowd, looking about at the wider world with some pleasure. Outside of camp was MUCH nicer than inside of it! And, he got lucky. Spotted a bit of a trinket, a tiny birch cone, he scooped it up in a paw and then in his mouth. It was COOL. And INTRICATE. And BEAUTIFUL. Lots of things he would never be, but this cone was them and therefore he had to have it. (OPEN)

"Well I suppose that's fine." The tom mews to himself as his name is called the cat pads over with a friendly smile. "I'm Ready to start leading! uh- Right, that's what I'm doing!" he mews reminding himself what he's supposed to be doing. He isn't sure what he's doing, but he's doing it! the ginger tom gazed around a bit. He is excited to help with his hike it makes him happy.

“Oh sorry! I’d diddnt mean to frighten you..” he mewed apologetically. Smiling at her again, he asked “do you know what a hike is?”. His daft innocence was funny and comforting, calming Alpinepaw down after her scare.

Alpinepaw calmed down but was still a bit nervous. She meowed curiously as she walked closer, "No, Cypresspaw." She noticed that they were being left behind and quickly ran to the main group.
