it's early sunrise when willowflurry shifts in their nest, golden eyes cracking open. their jaws part in a yawn as she stretches her limbs, slipping out of their decorated moss nest soon after. normally, on a warm greenleaf day like this, they'd go hunting. or..with the new two cats at a minimum rule, take someone else with them. alas, they cannot.

ah, yes..right, I have an apprentice now, the warrior thinks, gaze sliding over to the apprentice's den after she exits the warrior's den. admittedly..her memory still isn't the best after the accident, even now she struggles to remember small details. what's the apprentice's name? flickerpaw? perhaps sproutpaw? his solemn expression changes ever so slightly, the beginning of a frown forming. mulling over it for a hot minute, they murmur a quiet "ah.". fleckpaw, that's the name. I remember now.

with that, the tabby's heading over towards the fern covered den. "fleckpaw, it's time for your training." they call out.

"Coming!" Fleckpaw calls out cheerily, "Just wait for a second!"

And just as she says, Willowflurry barely has to wait for a few seconds before a patchy, black, white and brown bundle of fur dashes out of the den and leaps in front of him. Fleckpaw's eyes, amber with green flecks just like her namesake, sparkle as she smiles at her mentor.

"Very good morning!" She meows, greeting them, not even out of breath. "What are we doing today?" Her tone is one of excitement and joy, enough to make even a stone statue smile.

enthusiastic, is the first word that comes to willowflurry's mind as a calico bolts out of the apprentice's den. it's never understood such energetic people. maybe they're getting old...? ah, well, it's better to have an eager apprentice than one that's constantly sulking. they simply give fleckpaw a dip of their head as a greeting before speaking up.

"a territory tour." it only makes sense to start with getting familiar with the territory. cats constantly went missing, so hopefully this should make fleckpaw less likely to fall victim to that. with a sway of her plumy tail, signaling for fleckpaw to follow, she turns and heads towards the camps entrance. "stay close." they instruct. they really didn't feel like going claw to claw with an owl if the bird found fleckpaw to be a good snack choice.

the closest location to the camp is willow's rise, so willowflurry stops there first. "this is willow's rise, thunderclan's gravesite. the claw marks on the trunk of the tree are a memorial for those who died in thunderclan's last fire." he explains earnestly. "do you have any questions?"

"I will!" Fleckpaw does as her mentor says and sticks close to Willowflurry, only sticking out her head curiously to sniff around and see the sights.

At Willowflurry's next words, though, Fleckpaw's eyes widen. She did know of the fire, she'd heard of it, but she didn't know there was a gravesite. That was comforting and sad at the same time. Fleckpaw dips her head. "There's so many markings," Fleckpaw mews, "Did all of them really die in the fire?"

golden gaze sliding over to gaze at fleckpaw, they speak up after giving a small nod. "yes, probably more," there's a gentleness to their voice, words carrying an almost somber tone. "come, let's go." willowflurry speaks, beginning to turn away from the landmark and start heading towards the next one. it's still early, so she's hoping to finish showing fleckpaw the clan's landmarks before mid-day. then show the apprentice the borders.

padding through the forest, the warrior stays silent. the trees grow sparse as they reach an open meadow, wildflowers dotted throughout the field. sand lapped at the edges of the meadow, suddenly dropping off into cliff walls. it's tranquil to the point that willowflurry's tempted to relax here for a bit - but alas, they have a duty and their brain simply won't allow them to break one of the rules they've engraved into his head. responsibilities before desires. always.

"...this is firefly cove," she begins, "it is a good place to hunt." she decides to leave it there considering there's not much else to say about the landmark. it's simply a good place to find prey and relax if a cat has the chance. so, with a jerk of their head, signaling for fleckpaw to follow, they lead the way to their next stop. sunkissed creek is another quiet place that makes all simmering tension melt away. or, would, if willowflurry's mind wasn't also focused on the fact that many predators make this sanctuary their home. she believes so, at least. she blinks, trying to jog her memory, only to fail. it's frustrating, yet their annoyance is so expertly concealed one wouldn't be able to tell.

"this is sunkissed creek. I would not let my guard down here." just incase their memory was right and there are predators lurking. "sometime during your apprenticeship...I can teach you how to swim. it is a valuable skill." they say with a glance towards the flowing creek.

No questions there. In fact, Fleckpaw is way too overtaken by all then new and different scents and sights to even question anything. She only pads after her mentor, half in a jog in order to keep up.

At Firefly Cove, Fleckpaw sniffs the air in search of prey. She's eaten mice and voles and birds from the prey pile before- she knows what they smell like. Unfortunately, she doesn't smell or hear anything fresh for now, but she can smell the stale scents left behind by her Clanmates who must have caught prey.

Next was the Sunkissed Creek. The news about Sunkissed Creek being dangerous sticks into Fleckpaw's mind, and she keeps a firm note of it. As for swimming... "It sounds fun, but I'm not sure if I'll be good at it. Isn't it a Riverclan skill?" Fleckpaw meows.
