The weather's incredible, nowadays. It's incredible, and Maggotkit's found a liking for hearing it discussed as such--even when only eavesdropping, it gets this private sense of satisfaction in being able to agree with whichever boring old cat is punishing their colleague with a discussion about the weather. Yes, Maggotkit finds itself thinking smugly. It IS rather nice, out.

Favoring the company of elders has steadily done some odd things to the kitten's sensibilities. It's not quite an old soul, yet, but it's definitely something adjacent. 'Weird' will suffice as a descriptor for now. At its heart, though, Maggotkit is still just a child. A child who likes warm weather and sunbathing and best of all, flowers.

It likes flowers so much, in fact, that it's spent the better part of the day outside of the nursery, combing Windclan's grassy camp and plucking up any and every little wildflower that it could clap eyes on. It's got a neat pile devoted to its harvest (hopefully squirreled away from where a medicine cat might see; Maggotkit doesn't know a thing about herbs nor does it understand that it's not as though they grow right in the center of camp, so it's convinced there's a risk of Lightningstorm confiscating this bounty to use...uh, somehow...) that grows with every chance the dingy white kitten gets to stack a few more ratty-stemmed blooms in place. It's remembered the neat little claw-slice technique that Leopardpaw showed it. Now that Maggotkit's claws are a little larger and firmer than they were back during the picnic social, picking flowers is a total breeze.

As it remembers Leopardpaw, Maggotkit slows down a bit, looking peevish. Its older sister has been awfully busy with her apprentice stuff as of late...Maggotkit will probably have to wait to give any of these flowers to her. And its mother had preemptively expressed disinterest in receiving any flowers, today, the instant Maggotkit told her where it'd be.

So: who to give these to? Surely, the cat who needs them most...but who would that be?

Fallenkit was padding along when she saw Maggotkit- That meanie!- Gazing off into the distance. Heya. She said, groaning a bit. Do you wanna play or somthin? She asked.

Maggotkit blinked at Fallenkit. Ah—it hadn't noticed she was so close. Fallenkit's nice and all, but it gets this sense that she maybe doesn't like the kinds of games it plays. Which...well, Maggotkit doesn't really care, but it's interesting, to say the least.

It's also not the sort of thing to stop Maggotkit from considering Fallenkit a friend. A friend, to Maggotkit's understanding, is someone who likes you so much that they have to do what you tell them to. Maggotkit wants lots of those.

"I don't want to play any of your games," it says bluntly. "But hold still, okay?" Maggotkit orders, already picking up a bundle of little wildflowers and eyeing Fallenkit with a plan in mind.

Maggotkit started very carefully arranging the flowers around Fallenkit, setting them between her ears, across her shoulders, tucking them into her fur wherever it can. It's gentle, almost mindful, almost pleasant until...

"There. This is so you're not ugly anymore." It steps back, looking proud.

Fallenkit stepped back, hurt. I'm not ugly! She cried, shaking the flowers off her back. A tear fell down her face. Am I? She thought, flicking her ear.

Maggotkit makes a small noise of frustration, looking at her with disapproval as she shakes the flowers off. "Well you weren't," it says hotly, leaning over to gather all the flowers up again. "But then you moved. Stay still, I said. I'm helping."

The awful thing seems quite prous of itself as it moves to try and decorate her again.

I guess I am ugly. Fallenkit thinks as she watches Maggotkit put the flowers back. Why am I ugly? She wonders aloud. Another tear rolls down her cheek. Why can't I be just like mama?

"I don't know." Maggotkit replied cheerfully, turning to dig more flowers out of its handy flower stack with which to adorn the crying kitten. "But I know sometimes cats are born without legs and stuff. Or they can't ever see or hear because that's just how they were born. Also sometimes they were maggots first. So probably, you were just born like that." It offers this explanation, leaning back to appraise its own work only to flash her a short, frustrated look.

"It might also be because you keep doing that with your face," Maggotkit adds, sour before its voice pitches into a high whine: "stoooop iiiiit, you're pretty now, I made you pretty. So stop. Okay?"
