Shadowpaw walked into the clearing and let out a soft sigh. It was nice to be back in the clan again but she was so behind on training due to everything that had happened. A part of her wondered if she was fit for this shadowy clan... Thoughts she would keep to herself.

ugh!! bored! bored, bored bored bored bored!!! it sucked having to find another cat to take out with him so he could go run around in the territory or something, anything. it's always 'no, Sagechaser, i'm busy' or 'maybe later' or worse: just plain 'no.'
if somebody gets killed again, he was going to strangle them. haha. not really. he wouldn't hurt a fly. sort of.
he might as well bash his skull in on the Grimpeak and call that entertainment instead, though something told him that'd just manage to annoy Dawnstar or something. and after all this time he's still scared of her. to be honest.
with an exaggerated sigh, he flopped down under the shade of a cedar tree. was he sulking?
Cedarbranch, who lay nearby, opened one green eye at the sound of Sagechaser's body thumping against the ground under the same cedar tree she lay under.
Pushing herself into a sitting position, the ShadowClanner wrapped her plumy brown tail around her snowy-white paws, tilting her head to the side.
"Hello, Sagechaser," Cedarbranch acknowledged the tom with a respectful dip of her head. "I see that you're upset. Is there something bothering you that you would like to share?"
[ Cedar's chill, so feel free for Sage to ask for her to go with him to hunt or something lol. ]

TickPaw could basically feel the silence of the whole thing, it was bad enough he had been caught staring. Usually he was significantly more careful about these things but never really trailed after who he was staring at- which was probably why he’d gotten caught. TickPaw felt his mind buzzing- mostly and mainly with worry and concern over the consequences, he supposed he was going to get scolded or snapped at. It was hard to keep a straight face during these things. He usually sobbed his eyes out at confrontation but thankfully his tears were less frequently falling. Mother would have bitten his head off by now and spat him out like rotten prey- he knew this because that had happened before, but mental fear over mother would develop into showing actual fear out of nowhere. Attention- he was trying to avoid attention and he wished he could slip back into the shadows and catch himself just before he stepped out of cover so he could slip away. TickPaw felt like he was bracing himself for something, although he wasn’t the best at picking up on what.
Then the question ‘why stare?’. Why stare? As in why was he staring or why did he stare? Wait- were those the same questions- TickPaw’s gaze perked up in almost a mild wave of surprise and resettled itself on MudSlide’s eyes. He shuffled his paws in a pitter-patter motion on the dirt and considered the question itself. There were many reasons he stared, Mother said it was because he wanted to observe lesser cats and draw in information on them. But he must admit that thought seemed a bit far-fetched. Staring simply felt natural to TickPaw. It was something he did to take in the features and actions of those around them. TickPaw was ever fascinated in mimicry and copying others especially when he was supposed to be deemed a predator in a flock of prey, mimicking prey and looking the most like it. Although he didn’t solely do it for that reason, staring was just.. right to him. It felt correct to observe and take in someone else, he assumed it could have been viewed as even a lengthy taste of acknowledgement. But from the reactions from Mother on the whole thing and reactions in general he assumed that wasn’t necessarily correct. TickPaw blinked slowly, trying to break his empty stare before re-fixing his gaze to his paws and readying his answer. ‘I stare because...’ he couldn’t pry any answers that sounded right in his mind, it frustrated him. Lacking an answer or correctness. ‘It’s interesting just to watch, I suppose.’ TickPaw paired it with a shrug and tried to project confidence in that answer, surely he could cast a veil over the bland tone of voice and obvious concern that he was answering wrong. All wrong. What was he meant to say? Was there a correct answer even?
TickPaw flicked his gaze back up and felt evermore tense than before, answering had done nothing to easing his nerves or his mind. His whole thought process was fixated on the fact that Mother would scold him for this or that and he simply could not deny it. If mother was here, many many harsh words and blunt facts would be snipped into his ears before he could breathe the apology out. But this cat certainly was not Mother, the thought prompted a split-second smile on his face that died where it had began and left him feeling more compressed mentally than before. Were conversations supposed to feel like your slowly being buried alive?
Mudslide
She, Her\Warrior\15 moons\Shadowclan
"I miss the yellow. I miss the yellin' and the shake downs."
Mudslide blinked rather slowly at Tickpaw, her jaw tightening in thought whilst her eyes didn't hold anything behind their pale blue. Yeah, she wasn't sure what was up with this apprentice, but nothing that he was doing was particularly harmful in anyway, just uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable. Mudslide didn't like to stare because she herself didn't like to be stared at (which is why she closed her eyes mid conversation before slowly opening them again. A common practice), she honestly wished she could disappear. And she awas trying to, trying so hard for cats to forget about her. And it was working, until stuff like this happened. She didn't wish to be a well known name nor remembered, she just wanted to live a life without eyes that judge or curse or sneer. Then she could live with a loyalty to her clan but also stay unnoticed. But nooooo... She had to get snagged on important patrols, and gatherings, and other stuff. She just didn't want to get attached to anycat, nor did she want them to get attached to her.
So she just sat there, thinking with her long tail curled curtly around her paws. She was still awaiting an answer, but she honestly wouldn't mind it Tickpaw decided not to and instead turned away and never talked to her again. But she knew life wasn't that good. It seemed that Tickpaw was deep in thought as well since he hadn't said anything for a good long while. Mudslide relished the silence and was more than disappointed when he had actually answered her.
Huh. What an answer. Mudslide closed her eyes again. I mean... She could kind of relate? It's not like she didn't stare at things too, like annoying birds, gutted dragonflies, and amazing little beetles. But cats? No way, not a chance. Tickpaw was a weird one, that's for sure, but Mudslide was weird herself so she wasn't about to drag him for that. She just nodded before clearing her throat about a thousand times. "In...fluence? Scared?" She whispered, briefly glancing around for some water before focusing on her own paws when she realized there was none nearby.
What did she mean by her words? Well, she could believe that Tickpaw naturally had the odd urge to stare at things, but she didn't know why he was almost scared of her even though he'd been the one locking his eyes with her body for the past who knows how long. So why was he so tense? Why was he lacking words? Mudslide understood that there didn't really have to be a reason, but she'd like one if it was available. While Mudslide didn't know her clanmates well (and she didn't want to) she still felt safe around them, so why didn't Tickpaw?
