So she wasn’t the only one who thought having a meeting so soon after the last was strange. Sunpaw seemed a little conflicted before saying so, before saying that Bumblestar might have something positive to say. "Yeah I thought that was quite strange myself." She paused for a moment. "A bit of good news at this meeting would be nice."
That’s when Bumblestar started talking. Okay, so one reassignment, one new cat joined. And then Bumblestar started naming the kits who would become apprentices. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, FIFTEEN?! Wow, that was a lot of new apprentices for one meeting. That in itself was good news, although the numbers were a little unbelievable.
Looking over to Sunpaw, she smiled. "Fifteen new apprentices? Sounds like some good news to me!"

She thanked god or whoever was up there that she hadn't ruined the mood they had going on right now. That was one thing she feared happening at mentioning how she felt. "Good news is always welcomed, er, well any kind of news is welcome really!" she grinned. Sunpaw liked to hear any kind of news though if she had a preference it had to be the good kind. Hearing all the depressing stuff brought down the mood of things nowadays and she didn't like that. Hearing the call of Bumie and then a long very long list of kits. That was a lot of names to call out, that was going to be a lot of new apprentices. "Woah! The babies are being made into apprentices! How cute, new friends to be made in the den now!" her bushy tail behind her lashing with energy. Amber eyes turned to look towards Snakefang hearing her speak. "That's some major good news!" the best to be had so far if she did say so herself.

Honeypetal was proud to hear their sibling's name, Snakepelt, announced. Now me and Snake both mentor apprentices! I wonder if we could do a group training sometime...
Honeypetal padded up to where he was supposed to be, then sat down, back straight as he paid close attention. It's great that we're getting more apprentices, he thought, flicking his tail in a way that eased the bit of unnecessary anxiety in his stomach.

Amber eyes turned to her leader once again as the meeting properly started, and Hawkcatcher made note of this Copperpaw. She didn't mind outsiders joining, she would be half a hypocrite for thinking otherwise, but she always wanted to know who they were so she could keep in mind things like the fact that they wouldn't know the territory yet if they were placed on a patrol with her.
Then followed the apprentice ceremonies like they usually did- She frowned. This event that Bumblestar had run must have taken place when she was out of camp, but apparently, there were kits who were deemed ready to be apprenticed despite not being old enough. The older warrior's gaze followed the small hoard of kits scrambling up towards the foot of the Stormcrest.
Who would their mentors be? Hawkcatcher had enough former apprentices, trainees, and younger family in the clan to be a default cat to come to for advice on training apprentices, so if any of the younger ones were assigned to say Raggedear or Skylark, she might want to have a word with them to make sure they handled everything around that well. Swanwing emerged from the nursery, belly heavy with the kits she were expecting. With a heavy sigh, she took a seat beside Hawkcatcher, giving her a nod of greeting.

He peaked his head out of the nursery to watch the ceremony. As Slugkit stepped forward envy prickled up his spin. I wish I could be up there.
He sighed and sat down to watch her become an apprentice. This was her moment and he’s not about to ruin it with his bad attitude. I need to be happy for her. I just thought we would become apprentices together. his heart still longed to be chosen too but he put on his best smile and tried to suppress the jealousy that kept rising in him.
Beetlepaw stared blankly at the ceremony, feeling pretty bored. She noticed this little kit , near the nursery. She thought they looked a bit sad, so she quietly padded over. Beetlepaw took a deep breath. I cant be rude, its just a kit. Beetlepaw looked down at the golden bundle of fur, "Are you okay?" she mewed ever so gently. I dont like being kind, but I have to, its just a small kit.

GoldenKit looked up at Beetlepaw a little surprised. “Oh yes I’m fine.” He stood up a little straighter as if to prove even to himself that he was happy for Slugkit. His eyes turned back to Slugkit. “I’m just excited for my friend.” he hoped his words were convincing
He was happy for Slugkit but he still wanted this to be over as quickly as possible. He hated how jealous he felt of her. You’re being pathetic! This is Slugkit’s moment! He had to be happy for her!
