Mosspaw training!

“Well… Watertail taught me all I know… he showed me how to claw flick, and he showed me some exercises to do before going for a run.” Mosspaw replied, “Oh Stars, I love running.”
He thought for a moment before adding, “that’s all he really taught me… could we start with a run? That’s what Watertail suggested, because it warms up your muscles!”

(This training is happening near windy hills, that will be important a few posts from now )

Mosspaw did the stretches that Watertail had shown him.
“Race you to that big tree!!!” Mosspaw meowed as he sped off towards the the tree in question.

Mosspaw skidded to a halt some distance from the tree, and stood stone still, staring down at the

 

mangled, mutilated body at the foot of the tree…

(The dead cat is one of my characters who got eaten by a cannibal rogue…)

Lionscar stoped and looked down at the dead cat and covered Mosspaws eyes. "Mosspaw I want you to go back to the apprentice den I need to tell the leader about this." he mewed. @Rustleaf

Mosspaw looked up at Lionscar. “Th-That’s my m-mother…” he stammered, “wh-what happened to her?”
The dead cat was missing three legs and her tail, plus her eyes were scratched out.
“How d-did she get here?” Mosspaw’s mother had told him about the clans, but he hadn’t expected to see her here, let alone in this state.
Mosspaw suddenly turned and fled, tears streaming down his face as he bolted back to camp.

Lionscar raced after Mosspaw and stoped him. "I don't know what happened but I know how you feel come here." he hugged mosspaw he felt so bad he also knows how it feels. @Rustleaf

Mosspaw sank into Lionscar’s shoulder, sobbing.
