This morning brought with it a slight cool breeze that Hounddash found pleasant. Her nest in the nursery was blissfully empty for the time being, Bravekit and Hollowkit must be off somewhere playing or otherwise causing havoc. A right pawful, the both of them.

Still, she should probably keep an eye out for them... they are her responsibility after all.

Poking her head out of her den, Hounddash yawns and blinks in the sunlight. Not too far away, she immediately spots her son, Hollowkit, instantly recognizable by the irritable twitching of his long tail. With a sigh and a slight shake of her head, Hounddash makes her way towards him, all the while keeping an eye out for her other little trouble maker.

"Something happen, dear?" She asks him, sitting down next to him and reaching out a paw to pull him close to her, starting to groom the fur on his head clean.

"Mm'fine," Hollowkit mutters, trying to push his way out of his mother's grasp to no avail. "You're smotherin' me, get off!" He complains, finally wriggling free and shaking himself to smooth his messed up fur.

"Whadda you want? You hide away in the nursery all day 'n now you suddenly wanna talk?" He hoped the words stung. It was like the moment he and Bravekit were old enough to be left alone their mother spent more and more time away from them... what, were the children she wanted to have too much for her? She came back every night, sure, and she always made sure they ate, but did that really mean anything in the long run??

Bravekit was going god knows what in the clearing, she probably didn't even know what she was doing. It seemed though that today she had chosen to hide within the camp, sometimes under leaves or in a dark corner and shot out to bite ankles. Of course, she'd go back into hiding once she sunk her teeth into fur and let go, no way would she get caught. One thing Bravekit noticed was the lack of hearing of her brother's grumbling, which was odd. Yellow eyes peeked through her current hiding spot to catch sight of a familiar brown pelt. Her eyes widened when she caught sight of their mother out and about for once, sitting beside her brother. Huh, did mother finally decide to grace them with her presence for once? The black kitten might not have all the answers but she was curious and wanted to fulfill that need.

"mom! Holly!"
