Alpinepaw was deep in thought. So deep, that in order to make her snap out of it, you need to push her over. She was thinking about Springlight's death among other things.

She continued to think about Springlight's death as she stared at her forepaws. Alpinepaw couldn't hear Flameheart because she was clearly absorbed in her thoughts. The tortoiseshell cat was sitting down. Alpinepaw was scared that some bird would pick her up and take her somewhere. She started to tremble.
