"Oh very good!" Fogwatcher would cheer, bouncing on his tip toes a little before settling down a little again and clearing his throat. "Okay, okay, now we move into something more advanced with hunting. You got the prowling down, but now we move onto the way the wind moves," the tom spoke, lifting his tail into the air. "You can feel it in your whiskers, and you can feel it if you lift your tail up. Which way is it going, Birdpaw?" Fogwatcher inquired, giving her a moment.

Once answered, he'd pointin the direction it's coming from. "So mice, voles, birds, and basically any prey animal can be sensitive to noise. Mice, rabbits, and squirrels can also pick up your scent and to avoid that, you want to stalk them downwind. So, stalk towards them with the wind blowing in your face. It carries your scent away from the prey item," Fogwatcher explained. He didn't know if Birdpaw would know the term downwind or not.

"Birds and rabbits will also see you before anything else so staying hidden is step one. The next step is to make sure you pause in your steps when they look in your direction. They're particularly good at picking up movement in the grasses," he spoke, crouching down and demonstrating the pauses in his movements. Sometimes his paw was in the air and sometimes it wasn't. He gave Birdpaw a moment to practice pausing mid-stalking.

"Any questions?"

Move the way the wind moves?? Like, invisible and stuff? Birdpaw frowned, but kept listening. She paused in her gentle swaying, feeling the soft wind float along her whiskers. "That way!" She chirped after a moment, pointing with her chin over her shoulder. The things he said made sense, so she put them into practice. Crouching down, she took a few strides forward before stopping suddenly. A little too suddenly, causing her weight to go too far over her front paw. She squeaked and righted herself, a little giggle escaping her. "Oops!" Trying again, she managed to balance herself better, and it worked! She was doing it!

Fogwatcher waved his tail behind him as he watched, impressed by how quickly the apprentice learned. A grin followed suit as she got the hang of it. "Excellent! You'll be a pro in no time!" However, the silver and white splotched tom was running out of ideas here. What else was there to teach here? He wasn't sure. Perhaps they wrap it up now?

"Well... if you haven't any questions, I guess we can call this lesson done and done! Watcha say to that?"

@Mica - Birdpaw [ I'm so sorry, I have very little motivation for Fog these days D: ]
