That sounded very reasonable. Sedgekit glances up curiously at the new apprentice in their clan. Soon, one day, he would also be up there with his littermate, Whistlekit. Sedgekit wonders what it would feel like.

The ban on bringing outsiders into the camp, honestly, stunned him a little. In a way, he supposed, Whistlekit and he himself were also outsiders too. They were Windclan only in the sense that their first memories started there, but Sedgekit knew that they had outsider descent- mostly from the fact that they had no parents or relatives. That wasn't normal. So Outsiders weren't liked, he thinks to himself. That was reasonable. Windclan needed to defend itself, and Sedgekit had no emotional sympathy for the wild cats. Especially since he and Whistlekit were already accepted into the clan.

He glances around at the other clan cats to get a sense of their reaction.

An orange tabby was standing in retreat. He was looking nervous.
Ashkit’s heart skipped a beat. Twilightstar had said this last sentence because of him. He glanced at an apprentice, Willowpaw, looking for her reaction.

As Sedgekit's eyes pass over all his clanmates, he notices an unfamiliar kit among them. He sniffs the air cautiously, to get a better sense of who they are, but he still cannot recall there being such an orange tabby in the nursery. Which was peculiar. The kit was of similar size to him and Whistlekit, and he didn't recall there being any queens who had recently given birth.

The place he was sitting in was drafty, and his clan's leader's voice was getting drowned out by the immense noise. Sedgekit looks at the clan leader, then back at the kit, and pads over next to him. Sedgekit gives an quiet, solemn meow of greeting before sitting down in his new spot.

Ashkit looked at Sedgekit. The orange tabby smelled of ThunderClan and ShadowClan but still mainly WindClan. “H-hello” he said. He still was digesting the announcement of Twilightstar and stumbled on his words. “Who are you?” He asked. “I’m Ashkit.”

What a peculiar scent. Sedgekit sniffs once more, then meows, "Sedgekit. You smell weird." It's a statement, without any sort of curiosity or venom, he was just calmly stating an obvious fact. He doesn't even twitch as he says this sentence, still as a statue.

Ashkit took a moment to understand what was the strange smell. “Yeah, a lot of cats told me that. I think it’s because I visited other clans. But I’m not sure if it’s because of that…” he paused a bit, thoughtful, then continued. “I just joined your clan a few days ago. Were you born here?” Asked Ashkit.

Were they born here... that really depended on the context of the question. Technically, Sedgekit supposes that's a yes, but he wasn't really sure. In the end he stoically gives a hesitant nod to Ashkit's question.

But other clans? Sedgekit had never been outside camp premises, not yet, so he hadn't yet met other clan cats before. So this was how other clans smelled like. "What other clans?" He asks Ashkit.
