A tiny little black and white kit was sitting in a upwalker den, watching a group of upwalkers talk to each other.
They knew he was there, but they were chatting about something in their strange language.
After a while, he was hungry.
He tried to get their attention, but they ignored him.
Weren't they supposed to be taking care of him or something?
But they were simply brushing him off.
He hadn't eaten in two days.
He was only, like... 2 moons old.
Maybe they just didn't know what he wanted.
They'd remember it soon.
So he waited, and after a while, almost all the upwalkers left, except for one.
The one he didn't like.
The one that liked to hurt him.
Next thing the kit knew, the upwalker had picked him up before he could manage to scramble away.
The upwalker said something, but he didn't know what. It just sounded angry.
The upwalker picked up something sharp, still saying loud and angry things.
What was it going to do with that?
The next thing he felt was pain.
The bad upwalker was carving his mouth with the sharp object.
IT HURTS.
The kit tried to yowl and claw at the upwalker, but it only stopped when it finally dropped him back onto the ground.
Blood and pain, so much of it.
He needed to leave this place.
The tiny kit had found some off twoleg items in the den to try and stop the bleeding.
It didn't work very well, but it would have to for now.
And so, he waited until no upwalkers were present.
The window was cracked.
He could use that.
There was a seat under the window, and he hopped onto it, ignoring the pain, before hopping onto the window seal.
The kit squeezed through the cracked window seal, and left the den.
