Maggotkit has the reasonable reaction (jolting, twisting, and yelping in surprise) and a few moments of sleepy confusion before it spies its assailant hopping away.

Maggotkit chases the grasshopper around, smacking at it angrily any time it gets within reach. Take that, and that.

Ashfoot stared at Maggotkit as it chased the grasshopper around the clearing. Ashfoot wondered if she should approach it.
Probably not. She thought to herself sadly.
Its mother would have told it that i am dangerous. But Ashfoot still watched, ignoring the sting in her disabled leg as she adjusted her position.
I dont get it. Sure im disabled and an outsider. Does Windclan have to be so rude to me? Ashfoot thought as an apprentice sneered at her. She darted her gaze back to Maggotkit. Ashfoot sighed heavily. Theres no point. Windclan was never going to accept Ashfoot, disabled or not.
