Day 0

Seabreeze nodded at the warrior’s words. Stars, the whole thing was awful but really double teaming a ton already beat up…as much as he wanted to give Mudsmoke credit as he was a highly respected warrior in Seabreeze’s mind, based on Mudsmoke’s words he probably wasn’t faring well enough to warrant two cats on one person. Seabreeze didn’t feel any empathy for the cats his claws crossed in the end. He hadn’t before, only worried about his lack of feeling at all towards the situation, but he certainly didn’t now. “They think of us like rogues and then turn around and do this. What a joke.” Seabreeze spoke mostly for himself than anyone else before he moved forward to help Mudsmoke get up. “Let’s get going then.” He was able to offer the other tom his first smile in awhile, even if it was small.

Day 1

Mudsmoke wasn’t doing the best. Even though Seabreeze was no medicine cat, it was clear though, he couldn’t imagine walking on his leg was very lovely. It worried him though,enough for the lionheart to let out a sigh of relief when the time for break had been called out. He was scared that the warrior was at risk of completely collapsing. Seabreeze doesn’t think he could handle that. His own wounds were still stinging. Unattended too but it wouldn’t be possible right now. He needed to watch Mudsmoke and Mistyshard and Berrypaw were to be busy with others more dire injuries. In all honestly, Seabreeze could likely just tend to himself and save the medicine cats the effort. He was taught some herbs after all. Maybe. When they got to wherever they were going. For now, he would keep watch until it was time for Seabreeze to rest.

Day 2

The second day came and that meant more walking. Mudsmoke seemed to do better this time around but it makes sense. Getting a night’s rest would fare better than walking straight after a battle where you got your leg broken. Seabreeze did not feel better but he wasn’t sure he would for a long while. Everything came at him so suddenly and now everything for Riverclan is once more churned as though they didn’t have enough on their plate. He honestly thought that this driving out of Riverclan was the others way of getting rid of them. Thunderclan knew full well how they were doing and Shadowclan had no reason to take part. Windclan was the only justified party in the matter and even then driving them out of their home was… Seabreeze sighed. He has long lost his anger. He was simply bitter now…and desperate. Seabreeze didn’t want to think about his…siblings.

Blue eyes moved to Mudsmoke as the other began to talk. Well, Seabreeze expected questions but he didn’t like them all the same. Still he couldn’t help but ‘lash’ his tail once it’s twice at the question. Though just as always, he was level in everything else. Feelings other than stubborn bitterness and flickers of anger were fleeting. He wasn’t feeling much of anything. “They say they are my siblings. I am inclined to believe them. You aren’t lying when you say they are copies and my mother never died. She just left. I…I don’t. I’m doing- fine. As for my wounds, I’ll tend to them when I can. There isn’t much time until Fadingsun allows the clan to settle down. Besides there’s others in much more need than me.” He left it vague but Seabreeze isn’t going to Mistyshard and Berrypaw. At least unless he couldn’t deal with it himself. He was fine. Seabreeze was fine. He had to be. He was a lionheart he couldn’t afford to be not okay right now.

Day 2

Seabreeze seemed pretty dismissive about his siblings, he wouldn't touch to much on that topic then. It seemed to be too personal and something he was sure the younger warrior would deal with on his own. Mudsmoke wasn't going to go around and involve himself with other people's family drama. However his words on his injuries was a bit concerning. "I suggest you get the checked by Mistyshard and berrypaw, just because you aren't actively bleeding out doesn't mean you don't need treatment."

They had been walking for what, two days now? The mountain was certainly closer. The closer they got the mountain the more he started to miss home and the more his hatred grew for the other clans. How many clanmates had they lost? They hadn't even gotten to have a proper burial for them, no sitting vigil just walking. How about the rest of his clanmates with worse injuries then his own, having to walk this distance. He may be able to walk on his own now but that didn't mean his leg was constantly in excruciating pain-

"Seabreeze I'm not going to treat you like some apprentice in need of an adult but if you don't get those wounds checked I'll drag you to Mistyshard myself. You're a warrior not a kit pretending to be one. You don't have act strong and ignore your own injuries." mudsmoke hoped Seabreeze would hear his words and listen, they didn't need good warrior get sick over infected injuries that were left neglected. Even if seabreeze was confident in treating himself, mudsmoke would prefer they left the healing to the professionals.

Seabreeze hadn't really expected to be pushed on the matter of his injuries, he hasn't had someone to do that in a long time. After all he never even went to the medicine den for his chest and nose wounds from the Thunderclan raid moons ago. How they didn't get infected during that time was beyond him but maybe that was just his stupid luck acting only on stupid things rather than where it really counts, but was that not just fate in general. What a cruel beast. Still that leaves him now, with a cat that actually cared to push Seabreeze to actually do something about his injuries rather than letting them fester and hope for the best. He hadn't really expected it to be Mudsmoke of all cats, though to be honest he was closer to Mudsmoke than he was any other cat at this point.

"S-sorry, you're probably right...I just... I really don't like uhhh being around the medicine den but with the situation I suppose that wouldn't matter anyways. I can take care of myself though, I know a thing or two, I don't want to put more stress on Berrypaw and Mistyshard. They both have so much to deal with right now." He didn't add that reasoning behind his distaste for the medicine den, that being, one of his last visits was because Fadingsun was nearly dead and before that he had watched his sister die in front of him in the night. Not the best memories, though that was just cowardice talking. It's his own fault that he's letting his memories taint an otherwise good place because of some off chances.

"...Thank you for the care though, its been awhile since anyone has even bothered... maybe that's my own fault.. Stars, I'm so stupid aren't I, Mudsmoke." Seabreeze felt tears start to well up in his eyes and the emotions that were held at bay by sheer apathy were starting to poke and prod at the carefully crafted dam. There he goes, bawling his eyes out like a kit at the first sign of someone actually giving a damn about him. Seabreeze was nothing but pathetic wasn't he? "Why does it always feel like it's us, Mudsmoke?" Why does it always feel like it's him or the people he cares about?

some of what Seabreeze had said was true, the medicine cats were indeed quite busy. There were more serious wounds to be attended too but that did not excuse Seabreeze's own. Even though he felt he could do it on his own, mudsmoke wanted comment on that but let the younger warrior continue talking. It seemed the lionheart feared the medicine cats den or at least disliked it. For reason unknown to mudsmoke, he couldn't quite wrap his head around what could cause a LIONHEART to fear the a den where you get healed??? He knew some kits didn't like they medicine cats den, not liking the taste of herbs and whatever but Seabreeze was old enough not to be so... silly? He must have a very personal reason then-

Seabreeze's next words caught him off guard, of course he cared! What did Seabreeze mean no one else cared, surely they did! He was a warrior and a great lionheart, mudsmoke was certain nearly all if not all his clanmates respected and cared about him to a degree. Then the self blame, for what? Mudsmoke concern grew and he felt pity creeping in too. Before he knew it Seabreeze eyes were glassy and he was on the brink of tears as he broke down. A crack in his armour, something mudsmoke didn't have the words to heal. Curse his inability to say the right things!!

He opened his mouth but no words came out, he couldn't provide any comfort. He didn't know how! He understood these emotions, some of which he had experienced himself and yet still he had nothing to say. Shame pricked at his pelt at his incapability to help Seabreeze, to make him feel better and tell him lies like: " everythings okay" and "things will get better". Becuase in actual fact he wasn't sure. Maybe they were cursed to fall down this rabbit hole of endless pain, loss and misery. "I don't know Seabreeze but one thing I do know is that YOU are not stupid and none of this you fualt. It's none of our faults. Weaves made one to many mistakes and now we deal with the consequences" he said firmly. "life will continue, the sun will rise and the birds will sing. Whether it's a good day or not. That's life, that's how we'll live it" those weren't the right words and he knew it, he didn't know what he was saying. It truly was a curse to be unable to comfort someone when the needed it. Stupid stupid stupid, shouldn't have said anything!
