He had heard that Sparrowpelt was a bit of a playful warrior, and that is kinda what he needed right now. So Pinepaw padded up to the older warrior, tilting his ears playfully. "Sparrowpelt! Do you maybe want to... play?" His voice lowered on that last word. An apprentice asking a grown warrior to play with them would be... strange, to say the least. But it would be super embarrassing if anyone heard him say that to another cat.

Sparrowpelt hadn't been doing anything specific, just grooming his fluffy pelt that kept him busy with its high maintenance. Gosh, sometimes he hated this pelt, especially in the summer when the sun beat down on him. However, his grooming was interrupted as Pinepaw approached him and Sparrowpelt ended up getting his tongue stuck on a longer piece of his mane. In a fit of spitting the fur out, he embarrassed himself before he could speak. His ears were on fire now.

"Play? Like a game?" Sparrowpelt stared for a second, before his eyes lit up with mischief. "What typa game you wanna play, kid?" He'd inquire, jumping to his large paws with a light thud of excitement.

Woah! Sparrowpelt knew what he was talking about! "Yah! Like a game! Maybe a playfight or something? We could go somewhere! Maybe Sunkissed Creek? That would be cool!" he said. A cat who understood him! This would 100% help him. He would maybe also get some training in? Maybe? Battle training while playfighting did seem like a cool thing to do. "Oooo! What if we did battle practice while playfighting? That would be cool!" Pinepaw purred, tailtip twitching in excitement.

(sparrow is definitely going to end up adopting pine smh)

Multi-tasking was smart! Sparrowpelt could work with multi-tasking training with playing! Sparring at that. Sparrowpelt prided himself on his battle tactics, although he was more sheer size and strength than speed. Most cats could outrun him. "Yeah. Ya ya. We can do that, forsure!" Sparrowpelt chirped out, turning and leading the apprentice out towards the Creek.

Once they arrived, Sparrowpelt glanced around, making sure everything was in the clear. There were no stray loners or animals wandering about so they could playfight with freedom. "Have you learned anything about fighting yet? Don't matter if you do, but'can give ya some tips here and there!" Sparrowpelt chimed, facing the apprentice.

The large tom bowed down, his rear in the air with his tail waving in a dog-like playful fashion. "Hit me with your best shot, kiddo!"

He beamed as Sparrowpelt led him to Sunkissed Creek. He finally got to play with another cat without being told he was weird because he wasn't a kit anymore! He stopped as the older warrior stopped. "Woah! It's so pretty! I've never been here before." he said. "Well, I know basic stuff! No idea how to actually fight, but..." Pinepaw threw himself at Sparrowpelt.
(Pinepaw rolled an 18!)
Staying on course, Pinepaw intended on using his forepaws to bowl the older tom over. After that, he planned to maybe try to swipe his paws out from underneath him.

Sparrowpelt let a laugh escape him as the apprentice threw themself at him. He tried to meet the tackle by getting up onto his back legs but was shocked at the sheer force of the blow and stumbled backwards. Then down came the tom, paws swept out from under him. A big thump and Sparrowpelt was on his back. "Whoa!" The large tom gasped, quickly rolling onto his paws and standing back up, ready to defend off another tackle if needed.
