Sedgekit opens his eyes, then closes them again, slowly, as the tiny drafts of wind rustle through his fur. Something felt off about his environment- he opens his eyes, wider this time, trying to figure out what it could be. It doesn't take him long. Sedgekit quickly realizes the warmth of fur that had been next to him for a long time, Whistlekit, is gone.

He can still smell her scent, though, with her initial excitement mixed in. It hasn't been long since she had left, he could tell. Sedgekit carefully steps down, less wobbly than his sister, and continues from the nursery to the spot where Whistlekit would be. He searches around for her. His facial expressions may be solid and stiff like a rock, but inwardly he's worried as can be.

Sedgekit soon spots his sister next to an unfamiliar cat. It's a relief that she hasn't wandered off or had gotten herself in danger. Instead, she was starting a conversation with Cottonkit. Sedgekit pads over to the two kits as they both introduce themselves, and sits down He closes his eyes again, feeling the sunlight run over his fur.

Whistlekit takes a few seconds to continue groom herself down to pristine condition- which took longer than expected since she was so covered in dirt after the tumble. She doesn't seem bothered at all by the statement that Cottonkit wasn't born in Windclan, likely because she and her brother were orphans as well. Speaking of which, she sees her brother also pad down and sit next to her.

Whistlekit nods at Cottonkit's statement, thoughtfully.

"By Twilightstar, do you mean the scary looking cat with one ugly eye?" She asks, purely out of curiosity, not seeming to understand that her statement was extremely rude.

She didn’t seem bothered, well that was a thankful relief. His anxiety dulled as excitement returned to the forefront. ”YES! That's the one”, He sqeaked. ”I think she’s quite lovely”, she was his saviour after all.

Cottonkit cocked his head in curiosity at the other sibling who sat down beside Whistlekit, he wasn’t quite sure yet wether to open his mouth and greet them. Maybe they would both play with him, they could pretend to be the whole clan at this rate.

"You've got a weird idea of lovely, then." Whistlekit meows, cleaning out one last whisker. She wasn't trying to be mean, that was just the truth. In her eyes, anyway. Whistlekit glances at her brother, then noticing Cottonkit's curiosity towards him, she introduces the two.

"This is Sedgekit. He's my littermate." She explains, flicking a tail at the two of them, "And this is Cottonkit."

Sedgekit is silent. Personally he doesn't really care about appearances- they were all cats, and in the end, he felt that was all that mattered. But he also didn't refute his sister's statement, there seemed no particular need to.

He dips his head in greeting as Whistlekit calls out his name, still basking in the pleasant small rays of sunshine that escape the shade of the clouds and the lush maple tree above their heads. He stretches the tip of his tail, trying to get as much of it on his fur as possible, and sniffs the air curiously to get a better sense of Cottonkit's scent. It's a nice, memorable one, difficult to describe, like fresh cotton. Mixed amongst Cottonkit's scent and Whistlekit's, is another smell, something much more delicious...Sedgekit's stomach growls.

Well that certainly made it easier, an introduction for him. His cheerful smile returning once again. Cottonkit didn’t take Whistlekit’s comments personally, it was just her opinion after all. Then a grumble broke through the silence.

”Are you hungry, Sedgekit?” He wasn’t sure if he should bother one of the queens again to ask for more milk. But own stomach did seem to echo the grumble, as if he’d been reminded.

Blazingkit had finished their lesson leaving Littlekit on her own to finish up her training. Her sibling really knew how to dig, having finished already! Amazing! Their family was going to be amazing -- well, they already were in her opinion. The best family in the clan! No doubts about it! One day, the entire clan would see it! Medicine cat, tunnelers, perhaps someone will become the deputy or leader. From what she understood, she was the great-grandkit of a former leader, so it just ran in their blood to be amazing!

"It's the strangest thing I've ever seen!!!" Littlekit would reply as she bapped the worm gently to make it squirm rapidly. Although, as kitten nature intended it, her attention span wore thin, and she turned back to the hole she had started. Her little claws scraped through the dirt and she seemed to focus intently on finishing as soon as possible to catch up to Blazingkit. No way would she fall that behind! Perhaps that competitive nature would follow her through apprenticeship.

Over the course of a few minutes, Littlekit deepened the hole until a root stopped her. Her claw snagged a little and she hissed at the momentary pain. "Ms Dustbunny, this root is in the way!" The dilute calico would call out, poking her head out of the hole to look for the warrior. What was she supposed to do now?!

"No, I'm fine. It's nothing," Sedgekit meows, licking his paw. He glances over amusedly at Whistlekit, who seems embarrassed by her brother. He brushes his tail past her pelt to reassure her, and continues sniffing the air for anything interesting. His eyes wander around the camp grounds, as if he's continuously looking for something, anything, that's different or new.
