Fadingstar was lying in front of his den, looking up at the stars. It wasn't often that he thought about them, since when he did his thoughts usually also went to the spirits closely associated with them.

Not tonight.

Here in the mountains, the stars felt... normal. They felt like mysterious lights in the sky, rather than some mystical representation of dead cats. While that might have felt scary or lonely to another, to him it felt... peaceful.

The leader sighed softly, keeping his eyes focused on the sky above. If a few troublesome furballs wanted to pounce on him, they might be able to sneak up on him undetected...

Operation Annoy Fadingstar was in motion and going smoothly thus far. The target in question seemed distracted, staring at the stars for reasons that Lionkit didn't care to fathom, making this the perfect opportunity to strike.

Secret Agent Lionkit was crouched down, haunches wiggling as she expertly calculated the trajectory of her jump. One misstep and the mission could be ruined.

She shimmied forward one step... two... and RAHH! She sprung towards the target, no doubt in her mind of how cool and scary she must look - like a bat swooping down from the cloak of night towards its prey!! Or something like that.

Baneberrykit sat in the shadows, close enough to see their mission succeed but far enough away to not hinder Lionkit. She watched with wide eyes, gaze flicking back and forth between her sister and Fadingstar, body slowly crouching down and tail just slightly flicking back and forth in anticipation.

Once Lionkit had finally pounced, she couldn't help but let out a snicker. Not towards her sister, no- if Lionkit were to ask, Baneberrykit would definitely agree that she looked incredibly cool. She'd for sure have to practice her own pounces now.

The sunbleached black furred tom watched from afar, big blue eyes watching as Lionkit pounced on her target.

The tom had grown a tad bit since being brought to Riverclan in the first place–of course not fully grown, but bigger than the scruffy ball of fluff that he initially was. Long limbs that were bound to grow even more so during the oncoming moons, a slim and slightly scrawny build that he'd.. Eventually grow into, hopefully.

He noted Baneberry nearby, too, and since almost all of his sisters had made their arrival, he decided to join them. He was never too far behind his sisters, can't really blame the kid for being protective over them even if they didn't need to be protected.

The tom toddled on over, and after Lionkit had pounced, he took it upon himself to try something similar–although he aimed for Fadingstar's tail in particular, he pounced, hoping to land his attack.

Fadingstar nearly jumped out of his fur as two kits landed on him, one on his side and another on his tail. The one landing on his tail hurt a bit, enough for him to whip his tail out from under them.

He whirled around, partially alarmed at the possibility that these were not kids who should be in RiverClan. His fur laid flat once more when he saw that it was only his own children. Lionkit and Smolderkit, specifically. Eyes shifting up, he saw Baneberrykit a short distance away.

Emberkit was nowhere to be seen, but hopefully that just meant she was sleeping. He'd have to check the nursery.

For now, however, he should probably try to entertain his kits. He didn't want them to grow up without any sort of parental figure; he definitely knew how hard that was. As much as playing with kits was pretty new ground to him, he wanted to try for his kids.

A smile crossed his face, and he dropped down into a playful crouch. "I see we have two big warriors invading our camp. You'll have to get through me if you want to accomplish anything!"

the art of sneaking off from char and her sisters was one she had perfected. annoyed incredibly by smolderkit's insistence at protecting the trio, emberkit stole away easily and quietly for the umpteenth time as the convoy of her siblings toddled out and like a phantom (albeit a very bad one), she trailed after. following them a good distance away, when they stopped before mister star, her eyes widened.

a revolt?! a coup? under her watchful eye? surely, the little flame had heard the mutterings of a surprise attack on their glorious leader, but she had not foresaw it coming true! betrayal of the highest order. well, the big bad warrior, emberwar (her bestest warrior name, do not copy) trotted out of her poor stealth crouch and into the fray, play bowing before pouncing forwards towards none other than her brother (siblicide!). she was small, and light, much more so than smolderkit. it would be easy to duck away or even just tank the blow, since with claws sheathed she was little more than a furball.

"i will defend mister riverclan star! two against one is no fair fight, so i, emberwar shall even this score! rauuur, eat dirt, villain!" she yowled as she threw herself at him, sparing a glance at her other two siblings. she was always picking whatever side smolder wasn't on, as if threatened by his leadership. but still, it was all good fun, and her grin proved that plenty well.

Lionkit's mission had been a success, landing on her target smoothly - but alas! Of course the wretched leader would not go down without a fight, even with her brother supporting her and Baneberrykit hanging around, presumably as back up if they needed it.

The kit danced back, giggling as Fadingstar crouched down. A battle to be had! She turned her head as a blur of motion rushed passed, and none other than her very own sister, Emberkit, leapt at their brother. She was defending the enemy??

Her jaw dropped, her tail spiking out in surprise. "Traitor!!" She looked back and forth for a second, debating which one of the now two opponents she should focus on. The kit ended up charging towards Fadingstar, head lowered to headbutt his chest. Lionkit was confident her brother could take the mutineer if she kept the big threat distracted.
