Re: ShadowClan Elders' Den
〚~Willow'Paw~〛
| 9 Moons | ShadowClan Apprentice | Female, She/Her | Purrks:
Kitty Soft Paws, Heightened Perception [smell]
[a small, fluffy tortoiseshell she-cat with pale green eyes and an atrociously fluffy tail]
[this takes place a bit after "it all falls down!"]
The first impression was: EEP! Scary!
The second impression was: Oh wow. Kewl!!!
Willowpaw had mixed thoughts about the new Elder's Den. It was dead, and even if it was just a treetop, anything dead was auto spooky. But also, LOOK AT THIS! ITS A TWELVE KAJILLION YEAR OLD ARTIFACT! Who knows what this canopy could have seen! Twolegs, dogs, cats, multi-universal beings, leaves, the future, fire, and anything else that came its way! A very very old tree-part for very very old cats. She thought that was pretty fitting. Willowpaw was doubtful that someday she'd morph into an old-looking cat when she got older, and be an occupant of that den herself. It was hard to imagine herself slow and creaky as a young apprentice. And, bonus, if she compared this tree-cover to the other trees, then it looked practically the same, except for the ghastliness the aged tree held. Must to be pretty similar to cat aging, ignoring how they were built up completely differently and how one was a plant and one was an animal and they had totally different anatomy. Yes yep indeed affirmative, she was the most innovative cat to roam the lands.
To her semi-disappointment, she couldn't study trees any longer, and she had to actually do what she came here to do. She had a bundle of moss, not a lot of it, since she couldn't carry much. Willowpaw wasn't too troubled by this; she could always yoinky some more from the split trees. She made sure this was all the moss she could carry, and then ducked into the Elder's Den, still getting among-us style stabbed in the neck by a stick despite her crouching. There were already some nests in the den, but she could decipher some semi-cozy (hopefully you don't mind throwing hands with branches) spots in the corners. Willowpaw blooped the moss down by a spot were the thicket of branches reached lower, it was less spiky and murdery, but more tangled and maybe still as murdery. She spread the lichen-twin out, in the shape of a nest.
An uncanny amount of kneading, testing, failing the test, adjusting the nest, getting more moss, and testing it and repeating the process later, 'MWUALA! Moss bed!' It was a bit rough, given she was the equivalent of a toddler in this case. The apparently-a-toddler flopped down in the crunchy moss, proud of what she'd done, when really it was merely pathetic in comparison to the other nests. She didn't have much time to relish off her bedding building, before she had to get more moss. The nest had taken three full mouthfuls of dry moss, and she needed to get more.
On the way to the completely unsuspicious mossnapping, she heard a growl. For a moment she froze. What did she do wrong? Was moss off-limits? Was mossapping illegal? Before she realized it was her stomach. She did not like when it did that. It was loud, embarrassing, and a dead giveaway that she'd rather be munching away instead of whatever she was doing at the moment. She really couldn't stand her stomach being grumpy at her. She quickly made a stop by the fresh-kill pile. And then she realized with a stomach lurch: There was no fresh-kill pile. The hunting patrol hadn't returned yet. 'Oh darkness my old friend.' Dragging herself back to the taking of moss, she went for the tree half that didn't make up The Grimpeak, still feeling like the world was empty without the fresh-kill pile.
A little bit later, Willowpaw spawned in the Elder's Den, with a whole new mouthful of moss.
Definitely no cat here who was wanted by the M(oss)BI.

Re: ShadowClan Elders' Den
RASPBERRYPAW
[ patrol punishment post - @ ellie ]
The silver molly hummed to herself quietly as she approached the elder's den, trying to stay in a good mood. It was rather difficult when she'd gotten no sleep the past three moons. Her eyelids were drooping heavily with exhaustion. The nightmares hadn't gone away, and it certainly didn't help that she was staying in a den with a bunch of six-moon-old apprentices with no perception of their noisiness and even less of their hygiene.
Purring cutting in and out with the low volume of her voice, she poked her head in the den, careful not to disturb any sleeping elders, and surveyed the nests. They had been kept mostly fresh, much fresher than the apprentice's or warrior's, which was a welcome change. Still, the she-cat noticed a couple patches of dried out moss, which she quickly collected for disposal. Once the stale pile was set aside, she went to work near the entrance of the den, where moss-covered cedar branches crisscrossed to provide the nests with shelter. Using her teeth, she peeled away carefully at the green substance, trying to take off pieces as large as possible. When she had enough to replace the amount she'd removed, she nudged the stack under to cover of the den.
Padding around silently, she began the tedious work of placing the moss strategically. She couldn't just place it on top, that would be uneven and lumpy. But she couldn't place it underneath or on the side, because then they wouldn't be able to enjoy the fresh bedding. So for each nest, Raspberrypaw gently pulled apart sections of the nest, filling them with the new moss. Then, she would use unsheathed claws to gently fluff up the mixture of old and new until the nest was just as perfect as her own in the warrior's den. Raspberry repeated this technique with the other two nests.
Soon enough, she completed the task. Thankfully there were only three elders in the den at the moment, but it had been a rather boring task nonetheless. Still, Raspberrypaw was satisfied with her work. Scooping up her old moss, she headed off the toss it out.

AGATHA KITTY + MIND READER No elders?? Guess who's stealing into this den for her naps!
It's the perfect spot, really; private (enough, anyhow), quiet, comfortable. No risk of being underfoot like a clearing-nap poses, no chance of being woken by her denmates having their little discussions like a warriors' den-nap poses (not that she has ever been opposed to eavesdropping, but sometimes she wants a real nap, not a 'Lay Here With My Eyes Closed And Listen In On Other Cats' Affairs' nap), and...well, Swantooth's never tried sleeping out in the territory someplace for fear that something sick and twisted might happen to her. Seeing as nothing of the sort has occurred recently, though...ah, but why bother with a territory-nap when there's this big, empty elders' den? This will do nicely for now. Until someone goes and gets old, anyway, but that's a 'later' issue. The pale tabby oozes self-satisfaction as she curls up tight, forepaws reaching down to hug her hind legs in close. She's got no space in her brain for 'later' issues at the moment.

Re: ShadowClan Elders' Den
{ Closed, Wormpawkit demotion post, 1/3 }
Wormkit • He / It • Demoted Shadowclan kit • 7+ moons
Wormkit padded out of the nursery, a scowl plastered across it's maw as it's different-colored gaze scanned the entire camp. He sucked air in through his teeth, what was he going to do first?
Perhaps he'd start his punishment by cleaning the dens a bit, repairing what he could and needed to be, and maybe Cherrywood would take him to gather moss or go hunting afterward. Maybe Squirrelrise would- She was much more fun than Cherrywood and significantly nicer.
For now though, den duties. He sighed softly making his way toward where the clan stored moss, he'd noted a few nests in the nursery were beyond repair and needed to be replaced completely. He started there, deeming it the worst of the dens to work on.
Once done with the nursery, he moved on to the apprentices' den. He felt a pang of jealousy as his gaze swept over the mostly empty den. Most of the nests seemed fine, though one particularity stood out. Coyotepaw's nest, he narrowed his eyes, did this guy shred his nest intentionally or was he just that much of a restless sleeper? He rolled his eyes collecting dirty nesting, bringing it out of the den, piling it, and then returning with fresh moss, feathers, and down. He neatly arranged the nests before exiting the den and nodding.
Next was the warriors' den, it wasn't quite as bad as Wormkit had expected. There were a couple of messy nests and one or two he had to outright replace but otherwise everything was pretty decent here. With a nod, it finished up this den and exited. He noted a hole forming in the wall, he'd double back to fix that, perhaps a friend would be willing to help.
The final den was the elders's den. There were no elders, why was he even bothering to replace the nest here? and who kept messing them up? It must be the kits exploring and playing around- oh well whatever. He cleaned the moss out, replacing the nests.
With that, he was done, mostly. He grabbed his pile of dirtied moss and disposed of it before returning to the camp. He took a deep breath, that was so gross and if he never had to do it again it'd be too soon.
He stood there silently in the elders' den. It was much more peaceful here than it was anywhere else. This was the first time he'd gotten to sit down and think. He had to think of something to tell Vine, Coyotepaw would be meeting up with him soon to receive the message. He sighed, he didn't even know what to say 'sorry i got you exiled- hope you'll still like me' 'hey vine, sorry i got you kicked out of your home, no hard feelings, right?' He grimaced, this was so tough.

"Thank you, dear!" Amberwhorl called warmly after Shadeheart. She watched the other cat walk away and sighed. It was weird being an elder, especially only a few moons into it. She still wasn't used to all of the pondering one does when they aren't running about the territory.

Re: ShadowClan Elders' Den

Apprentice duties were the worst. Especially this one. Wrinkling her dark furred nose, the tabby carried some mousebile into the den.
How was she supposed to get it done if she hadn't actually asked any of the elders first. Dropping the stick, she glanced around. Not spotting anything exciting in particular, she did notice one of the elders was sitting alone, looking thoughtful. The elders in question did look rather young compared to a few others.
Slowly walking over, she nodded hello.
"Hello, I was wondering if you needed any of your bedding changed or your pelt checked." Wow, some conversations may not sound good, but that was worse than awful. Sheepishly, she slightly pinned her ears back "Sorry, that was badly spoken, I was wondering if I could help you with anything today?" better. But not by much.

Swantooth slinks toward the elders' den, intent on stealing another private nap only--oh! Dear, it looks like it's not nearly as private and empty now as it had been in the past. She pretends to have been doing something else and walks away very quickly.
