Watertail gave his apprentice a small look and nodded. "Sit next to me." Watertail invited. Sitting down with his tail neatly around his paws. Flicking one forepaw out, he showed his small grey paw and streched his claws. "Don't stretch them all the way, only do that when fluffy scratching or latching onto something. For the claw flick it's usually a move you use then leap away so your claws can't be out so you can retract them to leap away quicker." Watertail explained carefully. "So, take your claws about halfway out. My paws are a bit small for a toms but you can learn this now and adjust as you grow. " Watertail informed his apprentice. Watertail gave a small flick of his paw, his pad going inward and a small whooshing sound can be heard.

Watertail watched, "Your paw flick is fast, but don't tense up your claws, let them relax until they make contact, then push into the flesh or in this case the grass." Watertail meowed. Ears flicking as he watched his apprentice. "Try to on me, don't unsheathed your claws but I'll come at you, try and avoid me using your instinct and stratgy, i'll make verbal adjustments along the way and when you get a chance, attempt to use it on me. But try and remember that this move is made for you to be able to leap away right after. So choose you position and timing wisely." The senior Tom advised. Going across from his apprentice.

He stalked expertly for a moment, no sound being made as he narrowed his eyes and bared his teeth, flicking his tail to let his apprentice know it was ok and he wasn't going to attack. Watertail leap at Mosspaw, going easy. As training got tougher and moves got more advanced. Watertail would ease into his normal swift way of battling. Watching his apprentice's moves Watertail continued with a gentle jab at his apprentice's side, if this blow landed it should cause him to stagger a tiny bit, if not then Watertail would give an approving grunt

Mosspaw tried to duck under Watertail’s paw, but still got a slight hit on his back. He then tried landing the claw, or rather paw flick on Watertail, leaping back whether he felt it land or not.

Watertail gave a rare purr of praise. "Good! Your claws flick got me in the chest. That was fast thinking. Good job staying on your paws regardless of the blow." Watertail praised. "Lets practice a few more times shall we?"

“Sure” Mosspaw replied, getting ready for the next attack.

Watertail nodded. Stalking in the same way as if copying his own move. But instead of leaping Watertail ran forward and scooted to the side attempting to rake his soft paw along his apprentice's side.
