SilverFur would twich her tail and watch the mouse as it headed to the cloud, shwpe was going to have soo navy pebbles. With a blink she watched the mouse suddenly go to the pinecone. She would let out a loud huff as she lost all her pebbles. "I'll be back" she would get up and move towards the exit. Time to hunt.

Whisperinghive frowned at his betting and put 3 pebbles out for the cloud and 1 for the shell. The risk and the dependence of chance for this game excited him greatly. It made him focus on this event and not everything else that has happened.

Winterpaw had, almost as if drawn by an invisible force, joined the edge of the crowd of cats. Without fully realizing it, actually. This game Crowtooth was running seemed to be based solely on luck, no sort of physical or mental skill needed- the winners and losers were completely arbitrary. But still, his mentor made the losers go out and catch prey to keep playing... it's not like they could control anything about the mouse, yet Crowtooth took advantage of their misfortune to make their clanmates do his bidding.

Twisted, yet fascinating.

Winterpaw subconciously reached his paw out, drawing some of the pebbles over to him. Then he sorted out fifteen, pushing the rest away. Winterpaw's eyes narrowed in consideration. He couldn't bet on all of the burrows, that would be losing no matter where the mouse went. He could just bet on two, maybe... but if he put seven pebbles on both dens, he'd still be losing a pebble if he won, and there was a good chance he'd lose all fourteen.

The apprentice briefly considered not betting all his pebbles at once, since then he'd actually have the chance of winning something. That'd be the logical choice. He should slowly build up his wealth of pebbles with safe, or at most slightly risky bets. It was the best plan.

"Fifteen on feather," Winterpaw called out, gaze steely. Though his face was quite intense, on the inside his blood pumped with anticipation, almost excitement. His brown paw rested on his pebbles possesively.

Next roll and there was some late comers to the party! Crowtooth waved a tail at Winterpaw before releasing the mouse watching it run.

"Ooof another bankrupt today, risky bets are indeed a risk Winterpaw! Better go and change some bedding or quickly tag along with Silverfur to snag some prey for more pebbles!

Vinepaw you get two pebbles back!
Whisperinghive you get two back as well, though lose three.
Heavykit you get four back! Good work our big scorer this round!"


Not a ton of participation this round but this would be spiced up with the introduction of two new rules thatd turn this cutthroat.


"Alrighty yall ya get how this works now, lets spice this up! We got two new rules!

First, bait! If yall trade me 4 pebbles at any time Ill give ya a bait piece! This can be placed in any o' the dens and doubles the chance o' the mouse goin' there ta get the tasty food! So if ya wanna make a risky bet ya might be smart ta up yer chances o' that den bein' chosen! But be aware, this can be done unlimited times per round and by anyone and taken advantage of by anyone~"
OOC how this works would that I roll a d5, d6, d-whatever depending on how many baits are used and the additional numbers also count for the den you put the bait on! Like if you put it on shell both a 1 and a 5 are shell rolls now!


"Second rule is steals! Now this one requires consent but if ya an' another contestant agree yer no longer just bettin' fer my pot pebbles but theirs. If one cat says, I bet ya 7 pebbles the mouse'll go ta my den an' not yers, and the other agrees then whoever the mouse goes to wins as many pebbles as ya bet from the other! If neither o' yer dens are chosen then nothin' happens but a shark o' a cat will use this ta make large gains an' get a leg up on their clanmates~

New rules are in effect an' give 'em a try! Go!"

Rabbitpaw came trotting up to the gathered cats just as his mentor was explaining some new rules for the upcoming rounds. The apprentice had been watching before coming over and could understand what to do though he wasn't too sure on joining at first. It was a nice break from everything that has been happening lately but he wanted a moment to catch his breath (for once.) The game seemed fun though! And now that he was feeling a bit better he was willing to play, especially when it came to things like hunting! Though Crowtooth said to hunt you need to have no more pebbles...so ummm, couldn't Rabbitpaw just put all his pebbles on one den and then hunt! Then do that over and over until he was tired of hunting? That sounds like good practice for the blonde. He still wasn't the best at hunting non rabbits and on the moor. For now though he would just focus on planning the game. He found a seat near Vixenkit and then watched at the mouse and dens for a moment.

"I'll do 15 on pinecone!" Rabbitpaw laughed a little as he realized how risky that sounded, "I just wanna practice hunting or helping clean while having some fun! Hope you don't mind me joining late, Crowtooth!" The apprentice aimed at his mentor, if the older feline said it was too late to join then maybe Rabbitpaw could go pester other warriors to go hunting with him instead. Though collecting moss and switching out bedding also sounded like a good plan. Whatever happens first mostly.
