Tallgrass took a deep breath and walked up to the apprentices den a smile on his face the dawn was early as fresh dew set on the blades of grass with the sun warming his back he pressed his paw up against the sleeping apprentice "Buttercuppaw Time to get up we are doing training today." he said waiting for the apprentice to wake

Re: One step at a time
Buttercuppaw continued snoring until suddenly ... like a weasel popping up ... she jolted awake.
"Oh! Hiya Tallgrass,"
He said sorta speedily. Like they were in a rush, though there was no rush for him. She sighed and then set himself straight, stretching and perking up intently.
"Okay,"
Buttercup was still quite tired, otherwise they would be more ecstatic about the situation. Training was fun, but sleep was nice ... like how she imagined clouds would feel. Not that she really wanted to feel the clouds, Buttercuppaw was actually outright afraid of heights.
They raised their head to simply blink a few times. Buttercuppaw normally woke up, drank some water, then chatted until she was awake. This was not his normal, though, and it threw her very off balance.
"What are we going to do? Unless that's some surprise,"
She smiled brightly at Tallgrass, just starting to completely wake up. Buttercuppaw giggled slightly at her words before looking back up at Tallgrass, waiting for his directions.
TallGrass lead the way smiling noticing the tired apprentice "We can stop by there river and get a drink if you need." he said slightly tired himself he had a small plan for the day and hopped it would go well with the first thing to do would be hunting simple enough or a border patrol to keep things easy but he would let the apprentice pick "So Buttercuppaw" darn her name was a mouth full he thought to himself not letting it show on his face "I have two things we can do but I'll let you pick we got hunting or checking out the borders." he meowed waiting for the apprentice to answer

Buttercuppaw beamed at Tallgrass. She was given a choice! Even though they were normally a cheerful, upbeat apprentice, Buttercup had no problems with decision making. She knew exactly what she wanted to do, and gleefully rushed to tell Tallgrass her choice.
"I'd like to explore the borders, I haven't been around the territory at all, really. A drink of water would be nice!"
The thought of looking out at the moors, possibly finding a rabbit that she obviously couldn't catch, and seeing the golden hues of the land before her. That sounded gorgeous... and would appeal to them more than some hunting lessons. Buttercuppaw wasn't particularly fast or agile, and had actually very stubby legs. She was also quite a klutz.
TallGrass lead the way from the camp so they would check the borders shadowclan would be best to go to first and Riverclan last yet checking out Riverclan would be risky "Okay then border patrol it is!" he meowed walking up to the small creek that was near the camp. he walked up to the camp making sure his apprentice followed near the tom bent down and took a refreshing drink and waited till they finished before heading off to the shadowclan border

Buttercuppaw happily followed Tallgrass, waiting all the same as he stopped for some water.
"I wonder how RiverClan's doin',"
She mumbled, making small talk. They liked talking, it was fun, and she liked hearing others voices. It was like an invaluable song she loved. Buttercuppaw couldn't get enough of that "song" either.
"Being out of the woods and everything."
She felt sort of bad for those RiverClan cats. Was it really true that a whole clan could be rotten through-and-through? Surely if a rotten apple from a tree fell, then another one did, they couldn't both be uneatable?Buttercuppaw didn't know, and she didn't dwell on the thought much longer. She trusted Twilightstar and if this wasn't the right decision, Buttercup knew it wouldn't have happened.

TallGrass "I don't think they are in the forest anymore I would not be safe for them " he said knowing as well as he did if they even stayed in the forest they would be killed he didn't think a whole clan should be evicted from the forest but one cat could not change the fate of a whole clan "well that's Riverclan border how about we move on?" he asked

Buttercuppaw
Genderfluid, she pref | apprentice | purrks: N/A
Buttercuppaw nodded their head.
"That's fair, considering that pretty much all of the clans were against them."
They trotted along the path, feeling the topic at paw had ended. It relieved her more than it did upset her. She'd rather keep going along with the territory tour.
"Yes, I'd like that."
Some part of her didn't feel right with the conversations end. But no matter how much she wanted to, there was no way Buttercup would renew the topic. It just didn't feel right for a clan so hated by most cats to be not hated by her. Whatever the other cause, she simply ignored her feelings and kept trotting alongside Tallgrass.
