Maggotkit watches Frogkit slump over, flinching as she does. Has she died? Maggotkit's intrigued; it's never seen a dead-cat. Well, not that it remembers anyway—it knows its littermates were dead-cats but that hardly counts. Maggotkit noses at Frogkit's side, giving her a curious nudge. Oh! Her flanks are rising and falling, at least, which means she can't be dead yet. Maybe she was just sleepy.

Maggotkit peers about the hiding spot. It has half a mind to pull Frogkit back to the nursery, proper, but it doesn't think it's strong enough to drag another kit. It can't leave her here alone, though, either. It sighs, curling up next to sleepy Frogkit, pressed to her side so it can feel the proof of her breathing. It'll just have to wait until she wakes up, then.

"Once upon a time there was a huuuge hawk. The biggest hawk there ever was," it begins in a whisper, poking Frogkit's shoulder softly. "And every day, that hawk would hunt a cat from the moor for every meal. And with every cat the hawk ate, it just got bigger and bigger and bigger. So the cats of the moor," it pauses, poking her again, "that's us, Windclan. The cats of the moor were scared, because the bigger the hawk got, the more cats it started to eat! So one day, the medicine cat devised a plan."

It's just not sure what to do now, so Frogkit gets a story while she slumbers.

Frogkit walked around in her dream, she then heard maggotkit talking it
was for some reason soothing, so she rolled over to face maggotkit,
she buried her face into it's fur, it's fur was soft, she need this hug
more than ever, she wanted to cuddle, so she is getting her cuddle.
Their fur felt like a soft cloud.

"T-thank you for being m-my frie.... She mumbled as she fell
asleep

"That day, when they saw the hawk's shadow on the ground, everyone ran to hide. Everyone except the medicine cat. And down the hawk swooped, whoosh, and it scooped the medicine cat right up and took her to its nest."

It twitches as she stirs, half expecting her to be awake and okay now, but...hm. Doesn't seem to be the case. It's faintly uncomfortable as Frogkit adjusts herself, unsure what to do in this situation. Whiterabbit is always so stiff and cranky when Maggotkit tries to cuddle, and it's realizing now that that might be the same way it reacts to these things. It doesn't like it when its mother gets all tense, though, so it tries to relax for Frogkit's sake. This isn't terrible. It's just storytime. Maggotkit is helping Frogkit feel better. The situation is under control. Yeah.

It rests its chin on her head, using her as a pillow (she's not going anywhere anytime soon—might as well.)

"Right as the hawk was about to eat her, the medicine cat said, 'Hawk, wait! Don't eat me yet. Haven't you noticed the ticks in your feathers?'

The hawk leered at the medicine cat. The other cats had never spoken to it before. Angry, it said: 'Well no, Cat. I am very big—how am I to see all of myself?'

The medicine cat nodded thoughtfully. 'Well,' she said, 'you'll have to deal with those ticks somehow. If those ticks drink you up then you might shrivel away until you're as small as an egg!' and then she asked, smiling: 'Why don't I help you?'"

Maggotkit breaks for a big yawn. It's making itself sleepy like this. Maybe using Frogkit as a nest was a bad idea, but it's too comfy to budge now.

"The hawk agreed, since it was a very vain hawk and it couldn't stand the thought of shrinking away like that. But the medicine cat was clever! She plucked the hawk's feathers one by one until it asked, impatiently: 'Are you done yet, cat?'"

Frogkit listened to the story very closely, it wanted to know why the
medicine cat did that. It was strange how the medicine cat did not
run like the other cats, the medicine cat must have been special!
but no one is special, at least that is what frog thinks, maybe it's
wrong, maybe it's right.

"So...what h..happens next?" Frogkit said in an tired voice.

"Oh!" Its eyes widen for a beat before it lets out a low, whooshing sigh—thank Starclan. It wouldn't have known what to do if Frogkit was asleep for forever. It's got half a mind to abandon the story right away and set about chastising her for acting so weird, but she wants to hear the end...

"Well. Ahem. The medicine cat shook her head, 'No, Hawk! Not yet.' And she plucked and plucked and pluckee. With every feather she pulled, the hawk shrank! It got smaller and smaller.

'Are you DONE yet, Cat?' The hawk asked again, grumpy.

'Almost, Hawk!' The medicine cat purred. By now the hawk was so little it had to look up at her. It was as little as a robin!

'Hang on. When did you get so big?!' The hawk cried, furious. But the medicine cat didn't answer it. With a biiiiiig smile, she opened her mouth and gobbled the hawk right up in one bite! Then, using all the feathers she plucked, she flew right back to camp!! And that hawk never ate another Windclan cat again."

Maggotkit finished with an uncharacteristically eager grin that vanished in an instant, replaced with a stern frown. "Frogkit. That was scary. Do you need to see Lightningstorm? Are you sick or something?"

Frogkit looked at maggotkit after the story was over. She enjoyed the story,
She was calmed down, she didn't feel comfortable enough to tell it that she
had a panic attack, it didn't happen often but it happened often enough for
her to be considered a patient for the medicine cat, she thought that she
could handle her emotions enough, but if it gets worse, she will need to go
to the medicine cat. "Dont worry, I'm ok maggotkit!"as Frogkit woke
up some she realized that she could go outside now. "Maggotkit! I can go
outside now!" she said happily as she got up to start cleaning herself off.

"Huh??" It blinks slowly. Maggotkit dense arc? No, but actually, it's just not sure how to process...this. Frogkit's just, up again. Just, okay again. It feels like some kind of lie or trick, and Maggotkit feels uncomfortable knowing that Frogkit might trick or lie to it. That's supposed to be a one-way thing. Only Maggotkit has permission to fib (according to Maggotkit).

It tries to frame this in a positive light: the story about the hawk and the medicine cat was sooo good that it cured Frogkit for forever and ever and she'll never do those weird shakes or slump over like a dead-cat ever again.

Hrm. Maggotkit still has doubts.

"Swear you're okay," Maggotkit demands. Maybe if it tells her to swear it she'll take this very seriously and drop the lie, if there is a lie. "And then we can go outside."
