The trapper sat there, overhearing the conversation happening in camp as his tail curled around his paws and his eyes stared at the clearing before him. Now, he usually isn't the type to wake up too early but going back to sleep felt like it'll make him even more tired. In camp there wasn't anything being said. Or at least anything he hasn't heard anyone say before. It's all the same thing over and over again. But he rather enjoy his time alone while there wasn't much ruckus around. Just him and his mind. His claws quietly tapped on the rocky ground below him every few seconds

"No, that's okay. You keep it. Maybe... maybe Springkit is just busy, yeah..." Dusklion didn't have the heart to tell her that she hadn't noticed Springkit with the group, nor his mother Cowskip. It pained her to imagine them still stuck back in their territory, but she hoped the two were at least together. "I'm sure he's gonna love it - you just... you got a way of brightenin' up every cat's day."

The wildflower? "'Course I did - saw you pick it 'n didn't want it to get left behind. I didn't... get to bring that sprig of wisteria you gave me on the first day we met. But I'll make sure to protect the wildflower with my life - I swear it. It... it meant a lot to me, Wists." At that her eyes brightened a bit, a wide grin spreading across her maw. It was tucked away safely at her nest, where she could return later to watch it. Hopefully, maybe, if things went right here... Dusklion would even get to expand that nest.

Her paws tingled with excitement as she slowed her pace and eventually came to stand in front of Wisty while she sat down. Too distracted by the pretty presence of Wisty to notice the unfamiliar scent nearby, the deputy tilted her head to one side and averted her gaze briefly, scuffing the ground with a paw. The normally cool, confident, and composed she-cat was nervous, but she hoped it wasn't... too obvious. "I, uh, actually have been meanin' to ask you somethin'," she started, chuckling nervously at the end. The dark tabby shook her head and looked up at the sky with a grin. "I know you're probably expectin' something a lot cooler, 'n maybe if I wasn't so nervous I could actually ask without all this ramblin' - because stars know I can do that - but uh, I just... I wanted to ask, maybe... if you wanted to come look at the stars with me tonight?"

Oh stars above her heart was hammering at full speed. She was almost certain the pretty she-cat in front of her would be able to hear it. Having looked back at Wists while asking her question, the deputy chuckled again sheepishly. "I guess... well, I mean... ever since that day at Lionsbeach - or heck maybe even at the border where you were tryin' to do that cute little headstand, I've, uh... well, I've liked you. 'N I figured with the wildflower, 'n you're always smilin'... maybe you would want to, uh... do somethin'. Like the stars - watch 'em, that is." Smooth. Real smooth. The deputy internally scolded herself for the butterfly nerves that flooded her stomach as she smiled hopefully at Wists.

This was it! This was her chance she had missed on the journey...

...Oh how wrong she was about to be.

And there was Irisfrost with the other hare. 2 hares in a few minutes. Not only that, she also brought back to the patrol a question Emberfang hasn't even thought of yet. The warrior was going to say something to her but Goldfish already suggested something else completely different. Which is a hare in the tree. Well, this is what it's come to. They were putting a hare in a tree! Two hares, in fact. "Well I guess it's either that or we just try to hide it under the rocks" Heck, someone could just be on standby and guard the prey this patrol catches but he doubts anyone wants to just sit here and do nothing.

What could possibly go wrong with putting what's basically the dead body of a hare up on a tree like some sort of apple. Though he doesn't really understand how they could not ony get up the tree but also wrap the hare with enough branches and twigs until even hawks can't reach it. Maybe if there's enough twigs lying around they could just cover the hares in twigs and stones.

Irisfrost

Goldfish quickly came up with an idea, and Irisfrost turned her gaze to the tree she referenced, frowning in thought. "I think that's a good idea," she mewed. "Like Emberfang said, it's that or hide it under the rocks and hope for the best."

"Do you know how to climb?" she asked Goldfish. Considering she had come up with the idea, it was likely, but climbing wasn't a normal RiverClan skill. If she couldn't, they might have to scrap the idea and use the rocks. She couldn't see any other way to put it in the tree.

The Ace of Spades didn't lose the pleased aura that had floated around her since exiting camp. Stars knows she's been desperate to feel free, not bound to the thorns of grief, betrayal, and uncertainty that had taken their vines and wrapped around her throat. The emotional distress had ceased into one sole purpose: helping her clan and her kits stay out of the thorns themselves. Being a mother was never something that had found its way onto the tortoiseshell's wishlist. In fact, when shed learned she was pregnant she had a panic attack. But now she struggled thinking of herself without a little fluffball demanding hugs at all times of the day. It still felt weird to her to think she was a mom. It made her feel old.

Back onto topic, Goldfish nodded at Irisfrost's question. "Yeah, I do actually. If any of you would like to learn." With a wink, she clasped Emberfang's hare in her jaws.. "Lets give this a shot, shall we?" She said before glancing at her patrolmayes and making her way over to the tree. The hare was heavy, but days of hauling Shellkit while traveling made if a little easier. But it didn't change how awkward it was the heave herself up a tree, head turned to the side in an attempt to keep the hare from smashing smashing getting gross. A couple grunts escaped her maw as she reached the top, keeping herself balanced precariously before slowly creeping toward one of the larger branches. It swayed under the weight of the warrior and the hare, but Goldfish kept her pawsteps light and careful. Placing the rabbit down with slight struggle in a crowd of small twigs, she wrapped the bendable sticks around the rabbit and through the non bendable one. She did this twice with the sticks before feeling like it was safe. She trotted back to the center of the tree before calling out, "Either of you want to try? It's not a tall at all, I promise." In reality she didn't want to go back down yet because the view across the mountains. But it seemed like a valid enough excuse, and climbing was a good skill.

Emberfang hadn't expected Goldfish to actually be able to climb. He..had his doubts earlier. The plan surprisingly worked. And better than he expected. That was one of the first times he saw someone from his clan climb up to a place like that. Where did she even learn something like that? Now, him and climbing was two things that didn't particulary get along. Of course he wasn't scared. No. C'mon, it was just a small tree and he was a warrior. If it was a big tree then it's a whole different story. But it's small. It seems easy to climb on. It can't possibly be that hard And he would definitely accept it if he wasn't supposed to be on a patrol right now (Or at least he would if he ran out of excuses to say no) "shouldn't we focus on the actual patrol right now?" he called back. Actually she could stay up there if she insisted on it. But he's going to use the patrol excuse for as long as he can

Hunting Patrol 2: Cliffs

An awkward prickle of her fur settles across Larkwing's shoulders as Fadingsun approaches for their patrol, quickly followed by Falconflight. Though she tries to hide the relief she feels at not being alone with her leader, Lark is unsure that fully translates through the wobbly tilt of the smile she tries for.

"Let's, uh, let's get going, then," She suggests, in agreement with Falconflight, half getting to her feet and stopping short a moment later, fearing maybe she had overstepped. She is not leader of this patrol, it is not her place to call the shots. Would this be seen as a slight to Fadingsun? Would he feel she's trying to undermine him? Should she just shut up, crawl into the nearest badger den and hope someone's home so she never has to experience this ever again????

Pursing her lips, Lark scolds herself for that line of thinking. She's overcomplicating matters, allowing herself to be overwhelmed by her anxiety. Logically, she knows there's little reason for that, but logic is often forgotten when in stressful positions. So, trying to stifle her nerves, Lark allows for Fadingsun to make the call to lead them from camp.

Apollo padded up to a familiar scent. Saturn. But he swerved away, catching the scent of a starling. He pounced, landing squarely on it and biting its neck. He buried it before crouching, mouth open to taste the air. Was there a rabbit den? Rare, but he'd take it. He dashed to the entrance, cutting off the prey's escape route. The silver tom killed both rabbits inside with swift blows. He left them in there, before he caught wind of a sparrow. He was on a roll! He leaped into the air, but his claws just missed feathers and he missed, landing hard on the ground. Never mind that.

Disturbed by his landing, a vole darted out and he snapped its neck quickly. And a squirrel caught his eye. He chased in pursuit of the prey, but tripped over a loose rock and the squirrel escaped. He scrambled up a jutting ledge and pushed off, landing on the squirrel's back and crushing it's spine and killing it.

Satisfied with his catches, he grabbed the prey and dropped it at Saturn's paws. I-I caught some prey. W-Want to share?" he asked, nudging the starling towards her. "We can e-eat the st-starling. I'll b-b-bring the rest b-back to c-camp."
