It never quite went away.

It had already been a few days since she had fought with Rosekit, but she still wasn't feeling any better. For the most part, Dawnkit had managed to avoid him, confining herself to eating, sleeping, and resting beside Amberwhisker. Who I should prolly tell about my problems...naw, she already tireds enough. I don't gotta bother her. So instead, she walked out of the nursery into the morning light.

After a meal consisting of another mouse, she looked around for something to do to take her mind off things. At the corner of her eye, Dawnkit noticed the rock she and Rosekit had practiced stalking. It really is pretty, she thought, making a decision. She went over to the stone and began hauling it back to her nest. It wasn't particularly large, but the she-kit was tiny, so the feat took a while.

Once she had placed her new item by the wall near her nest, she looked around the nursery. A little pettily, she decided on a nickname for the kit stuck in her head. So, Thorns says I need new friends. Well maybe I'll finds some. There gotta be at least one cat here who'll like me! So she waited for some curious kit or maybe a queen to notice her.

Forestivy rose slowly from her spot beside the prey pile, taking her time stretching and feeling the sunlight on her face. She sighed contentedly, flicking her ears as she straightened up. Feeling something tickle her whiskers, she shook her head violently to dislodge the foreign object. After a moment her efforts came to fruition, and a lone grey feather-a remnant of Forestivy's meal-drifted down to land in the dust. The molly was about to flick it away when her drifting gaze caught on the nursery, and she paused. Would kits find this interesting? she wondered.

For lack of something better to do, she picked up the feather from its resting place and carried it over to the nursery. She nosed her way into the den, breathing in the ever-present scent of moss and fur. Her amber eyes scanned the interior, almost missing the small, furry shape bundled near one of the nests. She cleared her throat awkwardly, but kept the feather loosly clenched in her teeth. "Ah, hello?"

It had only been a few moments when the shape of a cat poked their head into the nursery. Figuring she should probably get out of her nest and stop brooding like an owl--she had heard the elders talk of those -- she headed over to the cat. They were a she-cat, but she didn't recognize them as one of the queens. This as good of a place ta start as any. I gotta trys. She spoke up.

"Uh, hi? I'm Dawnkit! I don't think I seen ya before?" She'd done better that time, barely any mistakes!

Just then Lionkit walked over to Dawnkit nervously. "Hi sorry to interrupt you but... did you need a friend I kinda ... well ... i have no friend mainly because I'm very sh.. shy?" Lionkit hoped that she could make a new friend but she suddenly had so many thoughts of what could go wrong.
1. Dawnkit could think she is weird because she is shy.
2. Lionkit might say the wrong thing to Dawnkit
3. Dawnkit could think Lionkit is desperate for friends.
4. Dawnkit could think Lionkit is rude for interrupting her.
Lionkit looked at Dawnkit and mewed " Again I'm... I'm s... sorry for interrupting you.

A kit has just come up to her asking if she wanted to be friends. Dawnkit was shocked. Was this how the Thornball felt? Dang. The poor girl seemed terrified. She looked towards the other cat. "Maybe when I'm dones talkin' ta this lady? We could play or somethin', I suppose." That appeared to be the best response here. Hecks, even I gots ta know someone fore' I tried the friendzone! But she did want company, so she wouldn't complain.

Lionkit looked at Dawnkit with relive " Okay... um.. ill wait in the nursery on the right corner... okay." Lionkit turned to walk over to the corner. once she got there she sat down and started cleaning herself.

Forestivy watched the kit approach, responding to the young cat's greeting with a nod as she set down the feather. "Hello," she said, then; "I…don't believe you would have." It wasn't like Forestivy visited the nursery that often. Her last vist must have been about five or six moons ago, maybe more.

The kit glanced down at the feather as Lionkit padded away, but didn't ask about it. Ain't my business, I was just draggin' a rock. Instead she asked, "Well, is there someones you wanna talk to? I means, ya don't look like you came here withs a clear purpose. If ya knows what I'm sayin'." Not the best way to start a conversation, but it was fine to say things she'd noticed, right?
