Pondfreckle was lying down in her den that she had
made. She had everything she needed. She didn't
need no clan. She thought clans were stupid cults
run by a cat they call "leader" for some reason.

Then she suddenly heard a noise from outside her
den. "Who's there? You better not be here for
me! I'll beat your ass!" She said as she walked
out of her den quietly. This cat better not be here
to steal my territory She thought. Then she saw
him. He was...pretty....

Mars twisted around trees and ducked underneath bushes, the sun shining on their russet pelt. He bounded into a clearing, a den like place across the clearing.
They stalked over, their pawsteps quiet. He stepped on a twig, causing it to snap, and he winced. A she-cat came out of the den, looking aggressive. "Ah, terribly sorry. I didn't know anyone lived here." He said, his accent more noticeable than usual. He grinned, looking slightly guilty as they flicked his tail in a greeting/apology. Mars removed his paw from the twig, noticing it digging into his paw. His pelt looked as if it was glowing in the sun, his large frame towering over the she by a little bit. They sat, hoping it'd make him look shorter. It didn't, it just made the sun shine on their pelt, the golden-brown bits on his chest and face looking as of they were glowing in the pretty evening light. "I'm Mars, and you are...?" He asked, tilting his head.

Pondfreckle looked at the cat, he looked actually
pretty nice. Finally she met someone who didn't
want to take her territory.

She was surprised by his niceness, no cat she
has ran into before was this nice to her. but he
was different from other cats...she had a very
different feeling about him to, it was like she
wanted him to stay.

"Oh, well my name is pondfreckle." she
said walking up to him. "Nice to meet you
mars." She said walking around him to get
the whole scent and appearance of this cat.

The tom flicked his tail. "Pondfreckle? Well that's a lovely name. Is..is it all one word or..? Oh-" He said, giving up on hiding the accent. They blinked in surprise as she began circling around him and sniffing his scent. He genuinely didn't know what he smelt like. "I- Nice to meet you too."He purred, looking up at the dimming sky. "Heyy..uh.. do ya mind if i stay here for the night?? I was trying to find a new place to live and it's dark.." He asked, pushing the random wonder of what the hell he smelt like out of his mind.

Pondfreckle froze when he asked if he could
stay the night. Maybe I can have someone
to talk to finally. She stared at him for a
moment. from what she saw from staring
was his beautiful eyes.

Pondfreckle knew better not to fall for someone
she just met though! "Oh! Sure you can stay
anytime, it gets lonely out here sometimes" she
said with a chuckle.

The tom grinned with delight."Really? Thank you! I can imagine it gets lonely out here.." He said, eyes bright. "Oh! I forgot something. One moment." They purred, bounding back across the clearing. He ducked into a bush and grabbed the rabbit he had caught. He gently pushed aside the stuffed thing that he took great care of further into the bush were it wouldn't get ruined. He thought about taling it with him, but 1. He didn’t want anyone to know that he used to be a kittypet, no longer how long ago it was. And 2. They had just met Pondfreckle, and he wasn't about to be judged. He jumped back out of the bush and back across the clearing, dropping the rabbit.

Pondfreckle looked at mars happily, He has food! she thought to herself for a moment. He could become her lover maybe. But she didn't want to go there yet, also she hardly knows this cat! She cant already be falling in love, or can she....pondfreckle shook herself trying to get that thought out. She just thinks to fast about stuff. that's PondFreckle for you.

"Hey come on in!" She forgot to put her teddy bear away from being a kitty pet. She didn't want him to know but it was to late. She wanted to trust this cat, and she wanted this cat to trust her. She looked away from him having butterflies in her stomach thinking of having the lover she never had, or was. She was kinda good in social situations. She wanted this cat called uh mars was it? she thought to herself, she wanted this cat, mars, to be her friend that she never had to. "Make yourself at home! make sure you don't leave anything outside, these warriors steal anything they can get." She said in a serious tone.

Mars smiled, and followed the she inside. He noticed the bear, but didn't say anything. Their eyes flashed with worry as Pondfreckle mentioned something being stolen if it were to be left out. He loved the thing, even if he despised his life as a kittypet. They treated that thing better than he treated himself sometimes. "Really? Have you ever had anything stolen before?" He asked, dropping the rabbit that was hanging from his jaws. It was still kinda warm. Guess the bush kept it warm and protected..? He stopped walking, looking around the den and waiting for Pondfreckle's response.

pondfreckle tried to remember everything that was stolen from her
as it was a lot. Her mom was stolen from her, but not by warriors. She
had to trust him first to tell him her background. I mean they just met.
its weird to tell someone your whole life story when you just met someone.
She will give it some time before she told him anything.

She feels like he left something outside somehow. "Hey I feel like
you left something outside, I don't judge here. Trust me I'm a former
kitty pet, I've been through a lot bro" she said in a hopefully tone.
"oh, you don't wanna know what they stole from me, its something
for another time.." she said as she was thinking about how the riverclan river took her mom and brother and sister.

The tom hesitated and then nodded, running out of the den. He ducked into the bush and gently grabbed the rabbit's ear. He walked back into the den and set it down, grooming the little bit of dirt off it. "Thank you again for letting me stay." They purred, sitting down.
