Skyfall sure seemed like a mousey cat at times. Between failing to tell him and Dusklion about his suspicions that a Clanmate was plotting against RiverClan to being afraid to spar, he was an interesting cat. Fadingsun made a mental note to keep a close eye on him.
Circling Crowglow, Fadingsun then dropped into a crouch. "Come at me when you're ready. No claws." There was no point in wasting herbs on sparring wounds right now.
Crowglow nodded, and darted forwared with agility unmatched. He then used his slender yet small body to try and throw himself directly at his leader, keeping the claws away. His tail swished.
Another day. Another... well, not so good morning. Nightmares had left her sleepless and rather grumpy as Dusklion had started off her day. It was the same old same old; patrolling the territory, making sure there weren't any issues... glaring at the direction of ThunderClan and wishing she would come across that wretched tree-rat again so they could really see who would rot. Just regular deputy stuff.
Now though, as the sun was starting to sink in the sky and casting beautiful golden rays across the land, Dusk found her paws at Lionsbeach. The deputy found herself taking a deep breath, able to enjoy it for the first time since waking up. The beach had always been that kind of place for her; a place to restart and relax. Seagulls called to each other as they flew high in the sky and the warm breeze ruffled her fur.
It seemed the tide was higher now, too. The deputy watched it roll in and out, eventually making her way down to where the sand became damp. A moment, then another... finally, when the waves came back up she hopped back a little with a smirk. They rolled out again and Dusklion trotted further out, crouching down a little and wiggling her rump. Once they started coming back towards her she let them almost reach her paws before leaping back with a snort of laughter, standing tall and lashing her tail. "I am speed," she quipped to herself with a full-grown smirk now, blue eyes alight with amusement.
Crouching low again, she continued this trend, thankful the beach was, as far as she could tell, empy.

if jayfrost werent still on high alert from everything happening around him, he wouldve probably snapped at any and all cats that got closer than a foxlength, but oddly enough the lack of sleep, semi constant stress and sudden weird tension between him and garlicfeather had driven him to avoid people, yes, but not immediately snap if one did get too close. it was weird honestly, the thick layer of suffocating snow that had seemed to settle on both his ribcage and his mind, pushing him down emotionally and physically, had lifted, somewhat. it was probably because for once in his life he didnt have time to mope and feel sorry for himself..
whatever, the beach was peaceful, normally, especially at this time of day where the sun had crept across the sky and was threatening to be swallowed by the horizon, so it pushed him further away from camp to feel the sand beneath his paws instead of the regular grass and soil. what he had not expected to find was dusklion chasing the waves. he thought about turning around and forgetting about it, or at least ignoring it, but, against his better judgement, he had kind of taken a liking to his deputy, and even though he expected this to backfire for him, he made his way down the beach. slowing down to a stop a stop a few cat lenghts behind her, the salty breeze was ruffling his fur and the waves were roaring and splashing into one another, not circumstances one would like to be approached from behind so he sat, intent on watching the sun set until dusklion noticed him.

Itching to break into a run to see his old territory again, the Lionheart had to force his fur to lie flat from apprehension. It’s not like other Clans could destroy a place like Lionsbeach but…He shivered. Shaking his head, he pressed onwards. Now was not the time to be thinking morbidly. ”Alright, you two. Follow me in marking the borders, alright?” He called over his shoulder, beginning to lay the markers down. ”Floodsight, Aspenpaw; make sure to not cross over the borders that are already there- that’s the last thing we need.” He said with a grumble. Brokenstream hated seeming so on edge in his own home, but what else could he do? He would never be able to forgive himself if one of the warriors or apprentices got hurt on his watch.
The bengal sighed while he jumped up on a rock to survey the area a bit. He prayed silently to StarClan that they wouldn’t run into any cat that didn’t belong there.

Floodsight padded along side Brokenstream and nodded in agreement, hoping Aspenpaw would do the same. She wasn't that afraid of running into any cats, after all Lionsbeach was in RiverClan. But they'll never know if some cats do decide to stroll on in this deep into RiverClan territory. Well.. they haven't been here for the last few moons, it wouldn't be a surprise if things has changed. But it better not.
There was probably no need to reinstate caution for Aspenpaw. So while checking the area for other cat's scents and traces, Floodsight started sharing a little tit bit on Lionsbeach to Aspenpaw, "Here's Lionsbeach. This is the coastal stretch of our territory. There's not much fish here, just crab and birds here and there. And they're usually just a fleeting sight."
"This area is close to the Seastone, where the gatherings take place every moon." Floodsight continued hoping to just get a little information in before returning her focus back on the patrol, sparing glances around a few times to check for any danger. Once she deemed it was safe ,with nothing to comment on, she marked that piece of territory before moving on. She gives a small nod and a tilt in the head for Aspenpaw to follow closely behind them.
To Brokenstream, Floodsight had made a small note, "It hasn't change that much... just a little ran over. But it look safe in this area...for now. Best keep our eyes peeled in case."

Aspenpaw tried to keep up, he really did- but there was so much to see! Everything looked so familiar and not at the same time! He had never been to lionsbeach before, never out of riverclan camp until the exile. But there were little things that reminded him of him, he was home! Aspenpaw gawked at the light reflecting of the vast body of water, with its crashing waves, Seagulls circling the sky above it
Oh yeah, he is on a patrol.
Aspenpaw ran, sprinted toward the two older cats. One his mentor and the other a lionheart. He should probably behave. He nodded at Floodsights words showing that he had been listening even though he'd been trailing behind. He had heard about the seastones, that's where clans gathered for gatherings. It gave him mixed feelings though, before he really looked forward to going but now he couldn't stand the idea of sitting with those monsters and not being allowed to completely shred them for what they did. Once again, a seagull caught his attention. He bet he could catch it. Well he wanted to catch it. Were they allowed to hunt? Probably not... Casting the bird one last longing glance he continued to follow his mentor and Brokenstream. Border patrols, or territory patrols were important too! Yes. Remember aspenpaw, your reclaiming your territory. Focus
"Yes, I agree." The bengal murmured in response to Floodsight, casting Aspenpaw a sympathetic look as the apprentice trudged away from a seagull, clearly ignoring his own desire to hunt. The Lionheart sighed. "You know, we've had a long journey, and young cats like you need to keep your strength up. You're free to hunt quickly and eat." He said with a flick of his tail as he jumped down from his perch to finish marking the borders. "Of course, if that's alright with you, Floodsight. You are his mentor, after all." Brokenstream said with a tilt of his head, looking at the she-cat curiously.
His stomach was growling as well, but he was too apprehensive to eat now. His paws were itching to report back to Duskleaf. To really be home.

Thank StarClan what Aspenpaw had set his eyes on was a seagull, not a crab. She wouldn't be able to bear it if Aspenpaw returns with a wound on his first day out of camp. He had no training to hunting birds prior and the little one was the size of a seagull. A easy hunt for warriors, but an apprentice can't face it by themselves. If today they were just out for a lesson, she'll let him jump around all he wanted, but today they were on patrol.
'Okay, Floodsight, quick lesson and then we'll get back.' She gave Brokenstream a brief nod. He had noticed the apprentice's hunger to hunt before she had. After contemplating for a while whether a seagull was even safe for a fresh apprentice to hunt. And with the time crunch they were on, their clanmates are still in camp eager to hear back. With a slight sigh and a scrunch between her eyes from weighing the pros and cons, Floodsight looked at her eager apprentice. "I would've said no since there are cats waiting to hear back from us. But since Brokenstream allow it, you can give it try."
Floodsight flicked her tail beckoning her apprentice to follow her. "Look here, those gulls do nothing but eat. As long as there's food, they'll be there. Without any food, they'll fly as soon something approaches them. So, what can we do?"
"Feed them. And catch them as they're trying to take the prey." Floodsight said with a smile before running towards the beachside to retrieve a relatively fresh looking dead fish. It was small, but perfect to attract the lonely seagull in the area. A fish that's long dead is useless to the clan. Consuming food that's been sitting out in the sun isn't too good for the stomach, but using it as bait, why not? Floodsight tossed the bait in the middle of beach and waited for the white bird to perch. For the hunting part, she'll let Aspenpaw figure it all slowly. She can't word for word tell him everything each time. One day, he'll have to figure things out on his own.
She tilted for head at Aspenpaw, "Go for it. Brokenstream and I will be right behind you if anything goes wrong."
Hunting on sand was already a difficult enough task for an apprentice, but as long as he can get a good grip on the gull, Floodsight and Brokenstream can help him. And if the gull as so much as to push Aspenpaw, she'll step in. Even if the hunt wasn't successful, Aspenpaw will have learned something today and Floodsight would be proud of his progress.
