After a few moments of inspecting Mudsmoke moved aside the old nest, it was beyond saving. Had apprentices really not visited the elders in that long? He knew the reason, punishments have changed. Back when he was an apprentice you'd be punished to either clean out the elders den or help them with their flees, the memory of that awful mousebile made he physical cringe. Punishments were so over the top now days, exile? Demotion? For apprentices??? Or has the clan actually fallen so far.

After a bit of effort the new nest was completed. He felt bad at the idea of just leaving twigstep here seeing as it would be awfully boring. "I have to go help out at the nursery, punishments you know. You could come with me if you want? Maybe tell a story or to the kits" he suggested as he stood up, the nest now finished and looking way more comfortable. He would just toss the old one in a corner near the dirtplace, he thought as he glared at the old nest.

He waited until the elder made it out the den before picking up the old moss. Did he have time to go dump this now? Uhhh maybe he would just leave this here a come back for it later. Dropping the old nest on the floor he nudged it into the corner so it would be much of a hassle to the other elders of the den. He then turned to the three perch and nudged it more to the centre of the den. Perhaps when the other elders woke up they would take some.

He turned to follow Twigstep out the den only to halt, he might as well just take one of the perch's. If the information he had heard about queens is that they usually had quite the appetite. Something about kits- with that thought in mind Mudsmoke picked up one of the fishes and made his way out the elders den to the nursery.

Stormstar - RiverClan Leader

It seemed that perhaps the pride for RiverClan shouldn't include all of her Clanmates. Stormstar wasn't sure where Shrikewhatever had gone, but it certainly hadn't been to clean out the elder's den. Approaching the den with a disgruntled expression the leader let out a hefty sigh. It was still in disarray, with debris still strewn everywhere and scraps littered about. "Useless..." she grunted as she set to work sweeping the den with her tail.

It didn't take long to collect the loose pieces, but now the ground looked rather, uncomfortable. The leader made several trips out from the den and into the patch of territory just beyond the camp entrance to retrieve soft leaves and more springy moss that wouldn't do well for nest, but would line the floor nicely.

Coming back on her last trip she patted the leaves into place, stepping back to look at the den. Better... now it just needed nests. Using more of the moss retrieved, the leader set to work crafting five nests for each of their current elders. At least now they would have a spot to rest when they got back, wherever they were. She made sure to bunch the moss tightly together with her paws to ensure they wouldn't simply fall apart.

"There." Looking over the den, it looked a lot better than it had when she came in. Now she just had to keep an eye out for Shrikewhatever and ask him where the hell he'd gone. Turning, Stormstar padded out of the den.

Shiveringkit padded into the elders den with a bird in her mouth, that was way bigger than her. Her green eyes held concentration. She was desperate to get this to the elder's den all on her own and in hopes that the elders would tell her a story. After what seemed like hours, Shiveringkit arrived at the den. She popped her head in and looked around. "Hello?" she called, disappearing back outside of the den she grabbed the bird and pulled it into the Elder's den.

Miresong was bored. He pawed at the dirt whilist thinking about his younger days. They say he was a noble warrior, now Miresong was just an old hag sitting around. He wished he didn't feel so limited. He wanted to go hunting again, maybe even one more battle. But he kinda chose to retire. It wasn't a good choice, he thought, but it wasn't not anyone else's fault but his. Miresong was the one who decided to tell everyone he was retiring to the Elder's Den. He could be out catching fish and minnows under the bright sun right now, but he wasn't.

Miresong was lost in his thoughts, but he then could suddenly beat the small voice of a kit. He turned over to see a young kit, one who certainly couldn't be older than a few moons, standing near the entrance to the den. And she...was carrying a bird? Interesting. "Why, hello there," Miresong replied to the kit. Did she come for a story, or advice? Maybe even a game? He was excited to share his tales or games. "How may I help ya today?"

Shiveringkit purred as her eyes landed on Miresong with the bird still in her mouth. She pulled it over to where he was sitting. Once she was beside the elder, she dropped the bird. "Hi, Miresong." she purred. "I brought you a bird, could you tell me a story?" she asked with a tilt of her head.


Her green eyes looked into the elders. She was curious about the older days, and usually the elders had some great stories, even scary ones.

Stormstar - RiverClan Leader

After having grabbed five fish off the fresh-kill pile and making her way towards the elder's den, Stormstar poked her head in and swept her gaze around for any elders present. Faint whispers of their knowledge being rather expansive swirled in her mind from the days she would get her stories from O/tterfluff, and now with the problem in the river the leader was determined to get to the bottom of how to solve their issue.

Stepping further into the den, Stormstar dropped the plump fish at her paws and offered a small grin to the elders there, as well as a deep duck of her head in respect. "Hey, guys. Figured I'd bring you some prey 'n see how you're all holdin' up after everythin'." The leader wanted to make a habit of visiting the elders more frequently, if only to pay her respects for their moons upon moons of service.

...Plus, it wouldn't hurt to prode them for their knowledge on these otters.
