@starry (I'm currently finishing up a tour with hawk's other apprentice but ill try to make this one feel a bit different so I'm not just repeating the same posts)
Usually, when Hawkcatcher got a new apprentice she would take them out on a territory tour first thing in the morning. Well, not before the camp was fully waking up, she wasn't the kind of mentor to drag out her trainees by the scruff at the very butcrack of dawn, but she had found that most fresh apprentices were rather eager to get to explore the forest they had only heard of or caught minimal glimpses of before (at least Hawk hoped she wouldn't get too many apprentices with camp-escapes at the top of their records, but sometimes one got unlucky). This day had been a busy one, however, and the sun was already beginning its descent when she was done with her duties. It bothered her that this came later, but she would rather still do the tour on the first day than leave it to the day after.
"Foxpaw." Luckily her newest apprentice wasn't hard to find. "I've been unusually busy today, but I don't mean to leave you in camp for a day more without anything to do, so unless you're too tired, we're going on your tour of the territory now."Ok, Hawkcatcher, you're talking to him as if
it's dusk already. It was not that late, the sun wasn't setting yet, but it would by the time they got back, so theoretically she would understand if Foxpaw had done something else today and was getting tried.
Lean white and ginger paws moved swiftly along the ground, bright green eyes trained on the entrance of the apprentice's den. Since life was pretty boring, even as an apprentice, Foxpaw had just gone for a quick tour of the camp and was now planning on returning to his nest to sleep. Not like he was tired, but he had nothing else to do so why not await the next day and hope his mentor would take him out for training then? He was about to curl up in his nest and rest when someone came up to him.. oh, they were talking about training. That was his mentor, Hawkcatcher, then, he supposed.
A territory tour - that sounded a bit.. boring, but it was fine, because Foxpaw wanted to become one of the top apprentices in his clan so he wouldn't disobey or disrespect anyone. Hm, maybe a territory tour could be quite useful, because getting lost was not on his agenda. The young tomcat nodded curtly and got to his paws, fluffy tail flicking to and fro. Luckily the weather was quite chilly, since it was already later in the day. His thick fur was useful in the winter, no doubt, but in the summer it got annoying. Scorching heat meeting thick, warm fur... that was not a good combination.
"I'm not too tired, we can get started," he mewed in his rough voice. His green hues were almost expressionless as he stared at his mentor, ready to start the territory tour and not wanting to lounge around camp any longer.
Her new apprentice seemed a bit more monotone than Dawnpaw, but it was not something Hawkcatcher found issue with. So tour it was. Usually, the warrior had begun with Firefly Cove since she tended to do this already in the morning when no fireflies would be there anyway, and then finish with Willow's Rise which held the most spiritual significance and in her opinion served as a good place to end the tour. But since it was a bit later in the day, she'd decided to start with Sunkissed Creek. The place was named after the sun after all.
"This is Sunkissed Creek. I'm sure you can figure out the namesake." She walked up to the water. "It has overflowed a few times, but never been a threat, and many come here to sunbathe. It's a... decent hunting place since prey often comes here to drink, but so do predators, and many take advantage of how calm it's here to build their dens."
"And if you want to learn how to fish, you can do so here." She recalled deciding to teach herself that this summer. "Look around a bit, familiarize yourself with the area, and do tell if you have any questions."

Foxpaw curiously looked around as they trotted through the territory, soon arriving at a flowing creek where the sun was very present. It was silent and peaceful here, he enjoyed that. Maybe when he was a warrior - one of the best warriors, of course - he could come here by himself and actually enjoy some quiet. Not that he wanted to get his paws wet, that was a thing for FishClan and he wouldn't bother with their odd ways. It just seemed so... icky to get that cold, wet substance onto his perfectly white-and-ginger paws. The lean tomcat followed his mentor to the riverbank, furrowing his brows slightly as the slightly colder air blew into his face.
So his mentor said this was a good place to fish.. Foxpaw wrinkled his nose, shaking his head a little. "I'm not a fish," he mewed, though his voice was soft and almost joking. "Getting my paws wet.. that seems so yucky." With a small grunt he began exploring Sunkissed Creek, occasionally sniffing as he came across a new scent. He made sure to remember the territory to the best of his ability, taking in everything and making sure to remember especially the important, or memorable, landmarks so that he'd never get lost here.
Once that was done, he headed to his mentor's side again and gave Hawkcatcher a curt nod. "I'm ready to continue whenever you are," he mewed words accompanied by a cock of his head.
There was a small, almost unnoticeable twitch of the seasoned warrior's whiskers as Foxpaw's remark. It seemed neither of her current apprentices seemed too eager to learn fishing techniques. Neither had she, nor too many in Thunderclan. Which was fair. Still something about adding a new ability to her skillset was too appealing for her not to attempt and master it this summer.
Hawkcatcher waited to give her apprentice ample time to explore and look around while she stood guard for any possible threats (over her dead body that she'd let her apprentice get ambushed by some creature on their first day outside), and responded with a brief nod as he returned from his through exploration.
Next up she chose the landmark that was furthest away from camp. It needed to be covered and she'd rather than they were closer to home when dusk began to settle. Just in case. Besides, the terrain here would be easier to traverse if you could see where you placed your paws. "This is Haggard Ruins. If you've heard anyone mention our former camp, well this is what remains. Sinkholes swallowed too much of it a year ago, and not much has been done here since. There are plenty of rodents here, but be careful where you place your paws, and do not go near that hole in the middle." As she finished speaking, the earth beneath them gave off a low groan, and Hawkcatcher's ears against the warrior's own will momentarily flattened against the back of her head. Stars she still hated that, but tried to shake it off. "It does that sometimes, but the earth is more stable now so it's very unlikely that anything would happen."
